ROLL SHUTTER SYSTEMS

Shutter was repaired. Seemed to be focused on telling me how old my shutters were and the chance of failure. I asked that a couple of the straps be replaced and was told: and quot;they will be alrightand quot;. My guess is there is no money in repairing / preventative maintenance of shutters, only in selling new ones.

Two young men came and we explained we had a problem with one cord being twisted and a couple of times the shutter would not go down all the way. They found the canvas cord was wound up on a plastic reel which had broken and replaced the reel and cord and checked all our other shutters. The men were polite, efficient and professional. Also when we called for an appt. the company had all the records from the first owner of the house as they were the ones who installed them 22 years which we felt lucky that they happen to be the ones we called first. Will use them again should we need to and would recommend them.

It went well. I have had the shutter system for just over a month now and I Love it! I will keep you posted- but so far the customer service has been excellent. All of our questions have been answered and it seems like quality work. I would recommend them if you need a roll shutter system! :)

Solar shades were installed and work well to reflect the bright light, ultraviolet rays and solar heat. However, on one window, the screw to install the brackets that hold the shade in place touched the glass and caused a very fine crack line. Since there is a valance in that window, it was not obvious. Eventually, there were several large cracks and glass had to be replaced. I had representatives from three glass companies give me estimates to replace the glass and asked them why had it cracked. All three stated that one screw was installed too close to the glass. They showed me where the screw touched the edge of the glass causing a fine crack and eventually the glass cracking. My replacement cost was $1,048. Solar Shades did not send anyone out to see the problem and the cause demonstrated to me by the glass company representatives. They have ignored my letter and phone calls requesting reimbursement.
