Rockman Pool Service

George came out the day that we called Rockman Pools. He evaluated our system and checked everything, got the parts for the repairs and returned to fix it. He was very knowledgeable, and helpful, friendly professional, explaining in detail what settings to use, etc. We will definitely call Rockman Pools again and are even thinking about having the come out monthly to maintain!

Many pool services charge for unnecessary work, like replacing pump when it can be fixed. But George was honest on his diagnosis and i was happy with his overall service.

Matt did some major repair to our pool equipment about 5 years ago and I was very impressed with his professionalism, competence, and demeanor. Recently, I asked that he return to fix another issue with our pop-up head water valve and, as expected, he did another great job and got it done quickly. He is definitely our “pool guy” for life!

Met with George to discuss pool service. He was very professional, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Where he was not sure of an answer for the heater, he deferred to an expert. There is no better feeling than getting into a clean pool and spa! Before moving to Arizona, I could only dream about walking outside in the summer and diving into the crystal-clear water in my own swimming pool or letting the tensions built up during a hard day at work melt away in the evenings while sitting in bubbling spa discussing plans for the next weekend. When I first moved here expecting to live the dream, I was surprised to find out that not all pool services are the same and the experiences I had were horrible, to say the least. There were times where my family couldn’t swim because of algae and debris in the pool, or the spa wasn’t maintained and stopped working. That all ended when Ryan at Rockman Pool Service started caring for my pool and spa, and when I say CARING, I mean it. Actions speak louder than words, and the way he leaves my pool and spa every time he visits virtually screams that he really cares about the work he does, the equipment is properly maintained, and my pool, in particular, is ready to dive into as soon as the water is warm enough. When I went to replace my pool pump, I gave the owner a chance to bid on the job which he insisted on a Pentair. I found a Hayward like what I had but a variable for much less and he got upset with me that I somehow owed the job to him because he does my weekly service. This was very unprofessional and upsetting. I found it difficult to communicate with him after that. Once I retired and was able to see what was actually going with my weekly service and tested my chemicals, I discovered I had no chlorine level at all. I was told I needed to drain and refill my pool I understand, but on the other hand I watched while little to no chemicals were being added to my pool weekly and consistently. Stick a test strip into my pool and then just splash liquid chlorine splashed into the pool water and same thing with muriatic acid and off he goes. I had to request a chlorine tablet be placed in the floater so I got "one". I gave them 30 days notice and subsequently ended are association. I then went to a service that provides online test results, what was added and photos so there is accountability from now on.

Originally the experience was good. A lot of the time when I look my pool pump would not be working even though they treated it. I just got upset because they were spending five minutes out at my pool and not making sure the equipment is turned on and working properly before they walked off. There weren't that bad but they were not necessarily what I wanted. I discontinued their services. When the pump wasn't working I was paying for electricity and it was not even working. I tried to contact the owner to give him a heads up but he never returned my call so I left it at that. My equipment is the only thing I am not happy about.

Matt referred me to Alpha Hot Tub repairs who were timely, fairly priced, responsive and friendly. We'll use them again.

I purchased this from the Deal. I had it forgot about it and then my pool pump went out so I contacted them. I obtained a quote for the pump and labor but had also contacted other companies. I received a lower bid from another contractor so I used them instead. This company is professional and very punctual at returning calls and they answered all of my questions. I have no complaints with this company, I just did not get to use their service.

I spoke with Matt to assist with my pool, I am a new pool owner and read in a previous review how helpful he was. We spoke on the phone and he knew my system and said he could clean the pool and program it and train me on the remote. We set up time for Thursday afternoon after he was done in cave creek in the AM. By 5-5;30 no one had showed ,so I called Matt. There was a bunch of noise in the background like he was in a restaurant. I asked him, weren't you suppose to be at my house today,? he asked for may name and said he would check his schedule and call me right back. He never did. Would not recommend- missing an appointment from time to time I can understand but to handle it the way he did isn't acceptable.

We have prepaid for a year of weekly service. We haven't had any problems with the pool but getting a response via email or phone is difficult and requires multiple attempts.

He was friendly, professional, and on time. Not only did he clean pool filters...he answered all of my questions (as I was a newer pool owner) and he went around and inspected everything.

Owner Matt and service guy George are wonderful. They quickly reply to calls and emails and are always positive and professional. Thanks for keeping our pool sparkling and allowing us to enjoy it, not stress about it!

I have been using the company for just over 1 year. They are very responsive and do a good job. They are very easy to work with. I do not interact with the technicians too much. They have never missed an appointment without letting me know.

Everything went well with the initial service. That is, they arrived on time and did the work as promised in the deal. Unfortunately, there was some miscommunication regarding the additional work as well as it's cost.

The water is perfectly balanced. When I moved out here I was scraping my pool every day and I was spending twice as much for chemicals then what I am paying him. The first time he came out, my problem ended.

We had trouble with the communication of the first appointment and had to reschedule. He was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I, being a first time pool owner, he explained things well, so that I could understand them.

It has been going well so far. I was happy that they offered an annual service and they now come once a week. They also send me a text message saying that they have visited the house and update me on the PH level of the pool.

We purchased a mid-century house with OLDer pool equipment in late April 2014. The pool equipment was inspected thoroughly at purchase and was in decent working order. We had some pool maintenance knowledge from having a pool previously. We hired a pool service with a decent web presence who advertised pool owner lessons. After paying them almost $200 for service barely overlapping April/May, our pool hadn't even been backwashed as per contract, and we'd received NO instruction as we'd clearly requested 2X. When the pump wouldn't prime one evening we weren't going to pay an ADDITIONAL service call when we'd already wasted a small fortune on that company in a matter of weeks. Angie's List to the rescue!
