My dad, whose been in the construction industry for years, visited my house shortly after the door was replaced and looked at the new door install and discovered several problems with the installation. During the install, Rainmaker's crew cracked the plastic threshold at the base of the door and also damaged the security alarm sensor, both of which they assured me they?d replace (including any costs to replace these items) and finish the job within a day or two of the initial install on December 5. More than a month later and after calls to follow up with Elbert on these items, I never did hear back from him on replacing these items. Additionally, Elbert?s crew also informed me that they couldn?t use spray foam to insulate the door because they didn?t leave enough room. They sealed only with caulk. Needless to say, that?s not efficient nor acceptable. Given all of these issues and the fact that I never heard back from Rainmaker, I did not pay them for the shoddy job they did at my home. I had a windows and doors specialist come to my house to offer a professional opinion of the work done by Rainmaker Construction. He advised that I have the door removed and reinstalled in order to ensure that it?s installed, insulated and functions properly. The issues from Rainmaker's installation that the window and door specialist pointed out to me are as follows: Threshold bows (higher in the middle and lower on left and right. Uneven gaps and cinched areas between the door and the frame (causing issues for opening and closing the doors and possible air leakage) Exterior wood trim is too large. It doesn?t match the rest of the neighborhood and it will weather faster than if smaller wood trim is installed and then stucco is applied to finish exterior. The stucco that Elbert applied to the exterior dripped onto several areas of the metal base of the door. Needs to be scraped off so that I can install a screen door that will function properly. The stucco Elbert applied is thick and uneven. The texture doesn?t match the rest of the exterior. It needs to be removed and reapplied properly. The weather proofing patio floor materials are sticking out at the base of the door where the initial leak was which will create another leak problem. The threshold is cracked and needs to be replaced. I will have to purchase a new one that I shouldn?t have to pay for since Elbert?s crew broke it. The alarm sensor is broken and needs to be replaced. This is going to cost me an additional $85 that I shouldn?t have to pay for since Elbert?s crew broke it. The shutters haven?t been reinstalled onto the doors as agreed upon in his original quote. I have since hired another company to come and clean up Elbert's mess. Not only was I out-of-pocket for the alarm sensor, new threshold, shutter installation and a month?s worth of alarm service that I couldn?t activate my alarm system. But I was also a month behind now on the rest of my projects that have been held up as a result of this door situation. Needless to say, I have absolutely no confidence in Rainmaker?s ability, professionalism and follow through. It?s completely unacceptable. And I would never recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: I hired Rainmaker to replace and install a new set of French doors in my master bedroom. Additionally, they were hired to repair a portion of the wall and subfloor that had water damage in and around the area of the French doors. When Elbert first came to my home to see the area, he was very professional and said all the "right" things. It took more than two weeks to get them on the calendar. The morning of the install, they were late and asked if they could move it to the following day. I wasn't able to do that since I'd already made arrangements to take the day off that the install was originally scheduled for. The crew arrived about three hours late. Everything went downhill from there.

Elbert understands the whole project and communicates all the details very well. He also recommended an excellent electrician to complete the renovation. His crew was always on time and completed the project in a very reasonable time. He pays attention to important details and the appearance of the finished project and fixed several problems left by the original builders. He is the contractor we all hope to find. I highly recommend him.
Description of Work: We purchased a row house and were on a tight schedule to move in, but wanted to do a significant kitchen upgrade. It included filling in an open floor area, moving walls and quite a bit of drywall. We pulled permits for the job since it involved the floor structure. When the framing and drywall were complete I asked if he could install some bamboo flooring too, which he did right away.

Elbert was able to give me a quote on the spot. I had other quotes and I felt his was reasonable and was satisfied with his capability/knowledge for handling the load-bearing wall. I had interviewed a few people and there were different ideas, but his made sense and also jibed what the city wanted to see for inspection. He passed inspection but the inspector recommended a couple of other things to do with the walls (as I said it is an old house and he wanted to take some extra precautions). So I called Rainmaker and he personally came back out within 2 days and made the adjustments. Elbert also brought a small pony wall in for me just a few inches that I had decided needed widening because of the width of an appliance I am getting. I told him he could charge me extra for that because it was my fault for telling him to put it a certain width in the first place, but he did it for free for me.
Description of Work: I took my old kitchen down to studs and hired Rainmaker to do the framing for some changed walls, including a load bearing wall, as well as furring out a wall that was crooked ( my house is almost 80 years old and one wall was not straight). The work was finished in a day.

The paint company referred him to me. He was very nice, did a good job and did it quickly.
Description of Work: He replaced over three feet of beam in my patio.
