Description of Work: I had my home security through this company for a little over a year. I had no issues with the company until I needed something. on June 19 the battery in my control unit started dying which resulted in an alarm on my control unit notifying me of such. I called the company and they advised me the battery needed to be replaced however since I had never been given a key to get in the control box I was unable to do it. I was advised they would send me a key and the battery to arrive in approximately 3 to 5 days. At the end of five days I again called the company letting them know I had not received the battery. I was told they would again send a battery and the key. Meanwhile I was awakened nightly by the low battery alarm. The lower the battery got the more times the alarm came on. This scenario repeated itself until today July 13 when I called the company and advised them I was terminating my service. They did say they would send a technician out to replace the battery however the quality of service was so bad over a simple battery that I will no longer do business with this company. I paid them every month for over a year and the one time I need something as simple as a battery and they can't provide it .

Description of Work: After looking at Angies List and reading the reviews, I scheduled Protection One to come to my home and assess my alarm needs. I made the appointment one week in advance and on the day of - no one showed up, no one called. I called them after being an hour past the scheduled time, and was told a sales representative would have to call me back, but confirmed that the appointment was indeed on the schedule day. They did call back and said, "Oh, I am sorry I did not make it today but no one told me I had an appointment." As a person who runs a business that is dependent on customers I was shocked that they called to give me an excuse, and not a solution to the issue. Frankly, there are enough other providers out there that customer service of this nature should not be rewarded with my business.

 + -1 moreWHEN WE CONTACTED PROTECTION ONE ABOUT OUR SYSTEM HAVING PROBLEMS THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEND SOMEONE OUT. THEY ACTUALLY RE CONTACTED US AFTER SOME TIME WENT BY AND WE DIDNT SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. THE SERVICEMAN WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND ARRIVED PROMPTLY AT THE APPOINTMENT TIME. HE EVEN REPLACED THE MAIN BATTERY FOR THE SYSTEM FREE OF CHARGE.
Description of Work: THIS IS THE ALARM MONITORING AND SYSTEM PROVIDER FOR OUR ALARM SERVICE ON OUR HOME. AFTER REMODELING OUR HOME WE WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE SYSTEM, THEREFORE THE COMPANY SENT A SERVICEMAN OUT TO IDENTIFY AND FIX THE PROBLEMS WITH THE SYSTEM.

 + -1 moreTHEY WERE VERY PROMPT AND THOROUGH. THEY COMPLETED THE JOB QUICKLY AND EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THEY DID. THEY FIXED A WINDOW WITHOUT EVEN BEING ASKED. VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR REPAIR WORK.

 + -1 moreHAD BOTH A SERVICE TECH & SALES REP COME OUT TO THE HOUSE TO CHECK OUT AND ACTIVATE ALARM SERVICE FOR THE EXISTING SYSTEM. WERE VERY THOROUGH IN EXPLAINING THE EQUIPMENT, PROCESSES & ALTERNATIVES FOR OUR SYSTEM. THEY WANTED TO KNOW OUR PRIORITIES, AND OFFERED NO-COST SUGGESTIONS FOR LITTLE THINGS WE COULD DO INSTEAD OF UPGRADING OUR SERVICE LEVEL. WEVE SINCE BEEN VERY IMPRESSED & APPRECIATIVE OF THEIR MONITORING SERVICE, INCLUDING HANDS-ON HELP DURING A FALSE ALARM WHILE WE WERE AWAY FROM HOME. WED RECOMMEND THEM, AND HAVE SINCE NOTICED THAT MOST HOUSES ON OUR STREET USE THEM TOO.
