Precision Overhead Garage Door Repair and Service

Ok ,I paid to much.

The door sensor failure was intermittent and the technician showed me how to deal with the problem should it re-occur. There was no charge for this service call.

The Technicians arrived on time. Very professional young men. I explained my concerns. I was expecting an estimate and a need to reschedule but they were able to take care of everything! They repaired and tuned up the double door and tuned up and installed a door opener on the single car door. I'm very happy with the service, the work performed and the professionalism of the technicians. It was also very nice that they had all the parts they needed for the work they performed. That's an added plus.

I ordered a new garage door and motor on July 18. Four weeks later, I was informed the door had come in and could be installed. When the installers arrived, they discovered that the wrong size door had been ordered and it could not be installed. They said they would have to reorder one of the panels to make it fit. They also told me not to use my old garage door "more than once a day" as it was "ready to go". Three weeks later I called the company to see what was taking so long. After much checking, I was told the panel had "just come in that morning" and they would be out to install. When I returned home from work that day, I noticed the new garage door had been installed; however, there was a dent in the middle of the door and they had put on the wrong handles. I called to inform them of this, they came out to look at it, and they said they had to order another panel. The installer actually already had a picture of the dent on his phone which he had taken when he did the install, so he was aware of the dent before my call. Four weeks later I emailed, chatted online, and called to see what was taking so long. Finally got ahold of the General Manager, he apologized, offered me a new motor (guess he didn't even check what I was having done since I had just bought one from him) and said he would get back to me the next day. A week later I finally received a call saying the panel was in. The installer came over within a few days and put on the new undented panel and the correct handles. So it took over 3 months, 3 installation appointments, and many phone calls and frustration to finally get it right. I would not use Precision again.

Didn't go well.

Toward the end they did a good job. The technician was a very nice young man and very polite. He answered all the questions we had!

During the initial estimate the technician looked at the door and wanted to know what was wrong. The garage door has a very small dent in it from the prior owner and I had just purchased the home at the end of April. The HOA was requesting it be repaired or replaced. I pointed out the small dent and he asked why I wanted such a small dent fixed. I explained it was the HOA asking for it and I needed to know if it could be fixed. His response, no the door is no longer made we have to replace the whole door. Of course pretty upset I asked how much which he told me $950. At this point I haven't seen any replacement door photos, nothing. I asked if he could write it up so I can present it to the HOA so they could see what they were asking for. He immediately told me, "Why didn't you tell me this on the phone so I didn't have to waste my time?" "If I had known this wasn't going to be a purchase I wouldn't have shown up" After telling him that he had just made a very bad assumption I asked him to leave my property. I immediately called the office and spoke to a woman who apologized and assured me that wasn't how they did business asking if "Dave" couild come out the next day at 4:30 as he was the expert giving them a chance to fix this issue. I agreed. Tuesday, June 4th, I left work early to ensure I would be home and as I'm getting off the freeway at 4:05 I get a call from "Dave" that he would like to reschedule for today, June 5th. I confirmed I would be there at 4:30 and would see him the next day. It is now 6:30pm, clearly two hours after our appointment time and "Dave" has never shown up. I specifically joined and paid the fee to Angie's list today just to file this complaint. I am extremely tired of being taken advantage of but sub-quality contractors and feeling that I am helpless with them. I'm fighting back! If Precious Garage Door asks for your business, tell them NO.

I called Precision around 1:00 p.m. and arranged for a 6:00 p.m. appointment. I was told that there would be a $75.00 service call fee. The service technician, Chris, showed up at 6:10 p.m. We discussed the garage door and he admitted that he would be unable to replace my fiberglass door panels or any of the parts on the door. He said that he would be able to replace the garage door opener and listed my options and approxiamate prices and I asked him to proceed. with a chain model opener. Chris replaced the door in a professional manner and explained and demonstrated the features of the Craftsman product. There was no break down of parts and labor on the bill but the single price that I was given I believe to be fair. It has been my past experience that if a product or service were purchased from the vendor that the service fee is usually waived. This was not the case with Precision and that is the only negative thing that I have to say about the company. I have nothing but praise for the professionalism of Chris and the quality of his work.

It was a quick estimate, not much time spent, wrote up the quote quick, not too much detail. Was disappointed.

They were fantastic. They give a lifetime warranty on their parts and 90 days for labor. The technician, Robin, is an excellent guy. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and tells you everything. Since leaving this report, I have found out the defrauded me. They didn't install parts they said they did. And the main parts that they installed weren't even needed, they had been replaced 2 months previously by another company.
