Option One Plumbing

NO NO NO.$$$$ Way too expensive .. my inspector said it would be a quick fix. Replace combination t under mobile homeChip out around laundry lineCut section out of main lineBand on new combination t 5 year warranty on parts and work. (It only needed to be cut and banded.) For this they quoted me $2,500 I've already had three other estimates and the highest was $520. I only got another estimate because the other plumbing companies wanted me to wait another week. The technician did not listen very well because he came out and said this correct.. and flash me some pictures. I said no that is not what you're under there for completely other side of the house...that tells me he doesn't know what he's doing to begin with. And he did not listen to anything that I told him that tells me he's looking to sell me something I don't want. He tells me what he has to do which is what my inspector had said needed to be done. then tells me he doesn't know the price has to ask the pricing guy that means that the technician is not knowledgeable enough to know how much it cost ... And the price guy is there to rip you off ..then quotes me $2,500 . This is completely unrealistic I just had my whole house re piped with PEX and at that time they quoted me $1,500 . To do all of the drain lines new and all the main lines to the septic. This company option one..wanted $2500 for a repair that should be under $500. I do not recommend this company. Unless you have money to throw away. Or you prefer someone who doesn't listen to you when you tell them why they're there in the first place. No no no do not go with this company.

Appointment window was set for between 4 PM and 6 PM. Said it would be a free estimate for the repair. The window came and went without a repairman or word from one about running late. Too late to call their office. Finally got a call from Andrew the repair guy a little after 8 PM. He said he could still make it or come the next morning. They were backed up with about 30 service calls and that's why we never got a call with an update. I told him to go ahead and come over since the next day wouldn't work. Problem was a toilet fill valve. It was fixed in 10 minutes. Probably a $12 part at Home Depot. His charge was $112. Disappointed as my last experience with them was very good.

Devin and Matt came the first time in the late afternoon on short notice. They couldn't find the clean out in my 1973 house so had to go about cleaning out the drain from the roof vents. Since that is not the best way to clean out a backed-up main drain I asked about installing an easily accessed clean out. After quoting me $875 I called my Journeyman plumber brother-in-law in WI and asked him what he thought about the cost. He said it was in line with what he would charge. Considering they were here in the early morning and worked all day in the AZ summer heat, I didn't have an issue with it. They dug about a 7 foot deep hole about 4 x 3 feet, cut out a section of the clay pipe and installed a brand new two headed clean out. The best thing was Devin kept his promise in that he said I wouldn't even know they'd been there when they were done. Honestly, you would not have known such extreme work had been done except for the two new pipes right at grade level. All my desert scape was right back as it was. A few slides of the foot to move stones around and you couldn't even see the pipe caps. Devin and Matt are younger but both of the guys were extremely hard working and just as laid back as you please. Easy to talk with and Devin knew his stuff (Matt's an apprentice). The only knock is that Devin isn't the best at responding to emails or letting you know if he's running late. But, to be honest, I don't hold it against them considering how well the work was done.

They were prompt. He seemed like he knew what he was doing except, like I said, he didn't adjust it properly. I had to get somebody out here last week to adjust it so that the system would work. I would probably recommend them. They were prompt, the price was fair and in the ballpark. It seemed like he was knowledgeable until I found out the system wasn't working. But they came out promptly and repaired it and got it fixed. I can't give them a bad review, I can't give them an excellent review, but I will give them a good review.

This used to be a pretty good company, I can no longer recommend their services. Called middle of last week and scheduled a drain cleaning at my elderly father-in-law's house for Friday with a two hour time window for services. After three hours called and was told I they were running behind. No call to let me know in advance, nothing. I asked if they could come out tomorrow so I could get back to work, "Yes, but it's $99.95 instead of $49.95." You can't really blame the dispatcher, I rescheduled for Monday. Same routine on Monday, no calls, no appearance. I called them and "You're next on the list." Ninety minutes later, nothing. They used to be pretty responsive. I don't know what happened, but now it's run very differently. I called someone else.

My current plumber was busy, but recommend Option One to clear out a slow moving drain in a rental house. I called them and after a number of contacts via the phone to their operator and on via their web page was able to get a plumber to show up. They advertised $49.95 to clear the drain. There was some communication problems between my renter and the plumber as it was obvious to my renter that English was not the plumber's primary language. However, after the work was completed, I get a bill for twice what was quoted ($102.96) and called and asked why. She said that it was because 2-drains were cleared and it was $49.95 + tax per drain. I was never told that up front, but was led to believe that the price was for all drains in a particular room. I never received a call from the plumber while he was on site about the additional expense and would have been more than happy to have paid it, if I had been given a choice. After a number of calls, of which it probably cost them more than the $51.48 that I was disputing, they finally credited my account. Needless to say, I won't be using them again.

I called several plumbers in the area to replace the fill valve. Based on price Option One was selected. They arrived on time even though it was 6 on a Friday. They handled the work professionally and in short order. The price they charged was very reasonable. The cleanup was good. All in all very satisfied with their work and would highly recommend them.

I received an email from my tenants Saturday indicating a stoppage in the toilet in the master bathroom. I googled and found Option One's website. I then checked Angie's List for reviews. I called the West Valley number 623-939-0088 and spoke with Gabriela to inquire if they serviced the Buckeye area; Gabriela arranged for someone to come out and complete the work. The tenant informed me they would be home after 5:00 PM; I asked Option One to contact the tenant directly prior to going to the property. I asked the tenants to email me with an update after the worked was completed. Here is the response from the tenants that I received by email. "Plumber did a good job; was courteous, professional; would use him again."

We were unsuccessful, but not due to his fault at all. Just one of those things. Only problem was that I was billed TWICE on my credit card. I called Option One to resolve the situation and was told that they would credit my credit card account the $49.50 that was double charged and that I should see it on my next credit card statement. I checked my statement and there still was NO offsetting credit. I called them again on it and then called my Visa customer service who will send in a disputed claim. They don't appear to be well organized.

I usually take the pipes apart myself, but I was not able to fix this one. I selected Option One because of their reduced price compared with other companies on the list, but the quality of service I received was also fantastic. I called the answering service late at night, and the plumber was able to come out the following morning. He came on time and called ahead, so that I could drive home from work. He was very efficient. They explained everything to me and were very professional. My wife thought it was the potato peels she put down the food disposal, but in reality it was years of accumulated grease on the inside of the pipes, running all the way to the main drain. Overall I was very satisfied. I would definitely call them again. Of course I hope I'll never have to!

After months of unsuccessful attempts to unclog our bathroom sink, I called Option One Plumbing. The operator was courteous and after ascertaining my needs, immediatley scheduled a next day service call at my request. Early within the agreed time frame, the plumber (Albert) called to notify us he was on his way and he arrived within 20 minutes. He quickly found the clog and foreign objects in the drain and quickly was able to snake it out. He also inspected the other bathroom at our request and found a problem with the faucet which would require replacement and the reason why the shower had only cold water. He gave us a written estimate of the charge to fix those problems and charged the agreed up price (very reasonable) for the unclogging the drain. The service was excellent and professional and I definitely will call them in the future for my plumbing needs.
