I use them all the time and the service I get is excellent from making the appointment to getting the repair.
Description of Work: I've used this company for over 4 years and have enjoyed the security of knowing I can trust them when things break. If a service isn't included in my contract they offer great referrals to reputable companies. Very happy indeed and I was warned against using as home warranty program. That would have been a huge mistake. They have saved me thousands over the years. The service company's they send have told me I have the best one on the market and I would agree based on other responses from friends with other programs.

We've use them for 5 or 6 years and on as many as 5 different houses. The only problem we've had in the past is there is a day or two wait when things are very, very hot and had to wait for AC.

DON’T USE ONEGUARD. The customer service people are nice on the phone but the repair people are terrible!! They show up without an appointment and then yell at you. They show up to fix one thing and break two other things in the process! They wear you down with their incompetence until you give up and pay out of pocket. I wasted so much time calling to complain, setting up appointment after appointment, waiting at home for OneGuard, not to mention tearing my hair out each time they left my kitchen in worse shape than they found it. Learn from my OneGuard misfortunes and DO NOT BUY A ONEGUARD HOME WARRANTY POLICY! The Details: This is a follow-up to my original OneGuard review last summer 2016. In 2016, I posted about my aggravation with OneGuard after I made an appointment for maintenance on my stackable dryer, the OneGuard guy came to my house, told me he doesn’t service stackables and left. I then made an appointment to get my dryer vent cleaned out. OneGuard guy showed up WITHOUT MAKING AN APPOINTMENT when no one was home and proceeded to leave me an extremely rude voicemail. At this point, my dryer broke (probably due to not being able to get maintenance or vent cleaning). Rather than deal with another rude and incompetent OneGuard serviceman, I bought a new dryer and got the vent cleaned on my own dime ($800). That was my first OneGuard review. After I posted my tale of woe, a very nice OneGuard customer service lady offered to make amends. Amazing, right? NOT AT ALL. I never should have gone down the OneGuard rabbit hole again. OneGuard agreed to reimburse me $200 for the new dryer and vent cleaning and fix my dishwasher without charging me the standard service fee. (The dryer and vent were $800 but the $200 was a nice gesture). I agreed that I would replace my earlier bad review with a good review. I was absolutely insane to deal with them again. Here’s what happened: OneGuard guy comes after 3 days, says dishwasher pump is broken and it takes a week to order. This is 10 days without a dishwasher. We have a toddler and brand new baby so things are hectic at our house. Not a good time to be without a dishwasher. OneGuard guy returns, replaces pump, BREAKS DOOR, doesn’t remount dishwasher, LEAVES WITH DISHWASHER JUST SITTING LOOSE under the counter. Remember that toddler? I really don’t want the dishwasher falling out on him. I complain to the very nice OneGuard customer service lady. Repair guy returns a week later, remounts dishwasher, attempts unsuccessfully to fix broken door, leaves with door still broken. I complain AGAIN to the very nice OneGuard customer service lady. This time I am required to provide video evidence that door is broken. Like I would lie about this and continue to deal with these people if I didn’t have to! Repair guy returns AGAIN, says yes, door is indeed broken (imagine that!) because HE BROKE THE KICKPLATE when he pulled dishwasher out on previous service call, says he will order the part and return. That was two weeks ago and they have not come back with the part and won’t return my calls. I will order the kickplate and install myself rather than waste yet another day on these people. Learn from my OneGuard misfortunes and DO NOT BUY A ONEGUARD HOME WARRANTY POLICY!

We like OneGuard on the whole, but are not happy with the AC contractor they use--Sunrise Home Services. This is the second year they have come out to do our spring AC maintenance. Last year, the first person they sent out stayed only about 5 minutes and told our daughter everything was fine. We have 2 AC units and there is no way he could have gone up in the attic as well as outside and checked everything in that time. He left no paperwork saying what was done, nor had anyone sign anything. We asked for another tech to be sent, and this time he did a thorough job. This year we asked if the same tech could come and they said yes. They told me our appt was for 9a-1p, and they sent an email confirming the time. However, when no one had come yet at 1p, I called and they said I was scheduled for 11a-3p. Not! So we had to reschedule for a week later, and when a tech finally came it was not the one they had promised. We like One Guard but they need a new AC service company that doesn't drag down their reputation!

I have never had a home owner warranty so I am not sure how they rate against others. I do know that your first contact to put in a service request is pleasant, the customer service very nice. However, when it comes time to approving anything, they lie about what they said they were going to approve and it is really an unnecessary stress in an already stressful situation. I find their approvers clearly trained to deny service or tack on more service fees. You have to call in every little issues at once or it isn't covered. If you don't know what the issue is, they will still try to just pay for one. I heard Home Serve is the best for plumbing.

LOOK very carefully at their pricing. They charge per square foot. I don't see why they would do that other than to rip people off. Also, it looks like pools are included in their "all-inclusive" plan, but they are NOT. VERY DECEPTIVE. Not a fan of ripping people off or using fraudulent tactics. I won't use these guys until they change their practices.
Description of Work: I am shopping around for a home warranty and saw that these guys got an A from Angie's List. I looked at their website, and they seemed to be everything I was looking for. Ha. Turned out to be kind of awful.

Despite writing the company CEO and the Attorney General of their resident state I received no reply to my queries about their incredulous behavior. I would avoid them at all costs.

Great. One Guard has the knowledge to understand the repair problem and then of engaging the right people to expertly repair the item. I have now used them for 5 years. In the past, for the one $69.00 service fee for each broken item, they came and fixed everything for which I had called them. This time they figured out that the best repair was to replace it. There was no hassle. They didn't fix the old one--they replaced it with a new one of equal style. And I have managed all our repairs in Sun City, Arizona, from our telephone (answered 24 hours a day) at our home in New Jersey.
Description of Work: The compressor on the refrigerator went out. Their technician determined that the most economical and lasting repair was to remove the old one and replace it with a brand new refrigerator of exactly the same type.

It started off bad as the first inspection they tried denying but were very good and paid for a second opinion which they then agreed to take care of repairs. This is something they don't always do as far as paying for second opinion! They had a staff member named Brandi Ostwinkle who was so pleasant and helpful to get this resolved. She actually really cared about solving my problem. I thank her very much. They were then very good about getting the company Cool Blue there in 2 days to do the repairs. My only complaint was the charge for sucking out the old refegerant and recycling it which was $300 paid to Cool Blue. If you read any just about any warranty companies contract this is a charge you will have to pay if your compressor goes out. Don't know yet if this was a reasonable fee but will do a review on Cool Blue when I find out. They had a good staff also and repairman where very thorough and great to work with.

Haven't received the new dishwasher yet, but the ordering process was more complicated than usual, since we have a custom wood panel on the front of the unit. Tina Launders, the rep I dealt with, couldn't have been any better. She was responsive, knowledgeable, and provided specific information and options to me throughout the replacement decision/process.

After some difficulty, I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to have my service request managed by Chris Cathey. Chris was very, helpful, thoughtful, knowledgeable and thorough. He made me feel that I did, indeed, select the right home warranty organization, OneGuard. Additionally, Bryce Larson who manages the Authorization Dept, took the initiative to call me to be sure that I was well taken care of and a happy customer. The HVAC specialist came out November 28, 2016 and inspected what was going on and stated that there was nothing he could do except replace the entire unit as the heater pump was un-repairable. OneGuard Home Warranty Representative - Josh calls us the same day to inform me that this was a pre-existing condition even though our home inspection report dated Feb. 20, 2016 that states clearly that the heating & cooling both were tested & working fine. We also have OneGuard's "No-Fault Coverage" included our Warranty Agreement with them and this specifically covers "PRE-EXISTING" Conditions as long as there is a Home Inspection Report stating the condition and operation at the time of purchase. We clearly have all of this and blatantly documented in our Home Inspection Report. They stated that the inspector obviously did not inspect the actual heating unit within the HVAC housing and it's their fault. I addressed the fact that it clearly states in the home inspection report that the HVAC unit heat was older but indeed "functional." I also stated that we have their "No-Fault Coverage" clearly included all "PRE-EXISTING" conditions in our warranty. This OneGuard Rep. only kept repeating that they will not cover it, and couldn't say anything but this. No rationale, nothing. Our A/C System was indeed inspected as any new home is inspected. Again, we have the full home inspection report that CLEARLY documents the functionality and inspection of the homes HVAC unit at the time of purchase. Although old, our system is clearly tested and blatantly documented "functional and working." I have included photos as proof to OneGuard Home Warranties profile here (although I am sure they will remove them). The OneGuard contract states "A simple mechanical test consists of operating the covered item and performing simple diagnostic tests to ensure that it operates properly and without irregular sounds, smoke, or other abnormal outcomes. A HOME INSPECTION qualifies as a visual inspection and simple mechanical test." We have a HOME INSPECTION that once again states the working functionality and inspection of this unit. OneGuard will I'm sure try and manipulate the wording to their benefit just so they can deny the claim. They are ABSOLUTELY 100% NOT looking out for your best interests what-so-ever. They are trying to find whatever reason they can for denying these claims. Another fact that I would like to state is that OneGuard are the only ones to even touch our HVAC unit since we purchased the home and had the Home Inspection completed and stating that the HVAC unit was completely functional. We have now had to obtain legal counsel to pursue compensation for the replacement of our HVAC Unit. It is clear to us that OneGuard Home Warranties is trying to get out of paying for our HVAC Unit repair by fraudulently denying our claims. They went to a great length to sell us the home warranty that included the "No Fault Coverage," but then they go to any length not to cover our repairs when we need them. We are currently without any heat source in our home what so ever.
Description of Work: My wife and I purchased our home in March of this year (2016). We had the complete home inspection completed before purchasing. We added the OneGuard Home Warranty at the time of purchase. This home warranty included One Guard's "No-Fault Coverage." On November 28, 2016, we noticed that when we turned on the heat in our home, nothing but weak, cool air came out of our vents. We called OneGuard to let them know, who in turn, contacted an HVAC specialist to come repair the issue.

We are very sorry for your dissatisfaction. Please be assured we have analyzed the claim in its entirety, and have always acted in good faith in our efforts to serve you and within the parameters of the warranty agreement. Based on our information, you entered into the OneGuard contract with a heating system that was not working when the warranty went into effect. According to the terms of the service agreement, OneGuard requires that covered items are in working condition at the start of the home warranty. You advised OneGuard the heating system has never worked. In addition, the service technician that assessed the unit reported to OneGuard the system was missing vital components in order to run. Please note OneGuard will review a home inspection report to help cover repairs. However, the report you provided showed the system was not inspected. If it was inspected, it would have been marked as deficient. The inspection report also recommended further evaluation of the system by a qualified HVAC technician prior to closing on the home to ensure it was in good working order. The claim was not covered by the OneGuard service contract due to the pre-existing condition of the heating system upon the effective date of the home warranty and missing components. The locksmith was out to our home within 24 hours. He changed three locks and reprogrammed our garage remotes all for the flat service fee. I would highly recommend One Guard and their team. Then found out its covered as part of my HomeWarranty, and they fixed it and had to pay only 69$! than the cost savings. Apart from this service, every other service they are very courteous, professional and send quality servicemen! I hope after their acquisition, the new company American Home Shield adopts OneGuard's Service model rather than other way around!

I haven't had the service yet but the experience when calling was exceptional. I spoke with Pam who took the service call. She took my list and scheduled service for all items that were covered by my policy. She also emailed back the items that were not covered and provided the contract terms for any item that I had a question on. She was very responsive and took care of everything for me. I give her an A+.
Description of Work: I am selling my house and the inspector came back with a list of plumbing and electrical work that needed to be done.
