We’re a home warranty company, a company that believes in providing the best service possible to fix what’s broken. Fast. And while home ownership has never been easy, OneGuard is rooted in the belief that life is more important than a leaky faucet. Life is about spending time with family and friends. It's about enjoying time in the backyard. It's about precious time. Time that you can’t afford to waste. Contact us today for your Arizona, Nevada or Texas home warranty service! A home warranty is limited to providing repair or replacement coverage on items when they break down as a result of normal wear and tear. So, proper use and care of systems and appliances is required for coverage. Non-mechanical parts or components that do not contribute to the primary function of appliances are not covered. Check contract for details. Or call one of our Customer Care representatives. We'd love to chat with you.

I have several other properties and got contract with all of them. Everything was fine but they plumbing was bad. Whereas air conditioning I had used them several time but had no problems. With plumbing I had major problems. I had one property they had a leaking problem and they came three time trying to fix the leaking problem. I got my own plumber and he took 30 minutes to fix the problem. Everything he fixed and matched it. One Guard Home Warranties plumber said that he cannot fix it. Finally they could fix it.
Description of Work: I used One Guard Home Warranties to fix the leak underneath the sink.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the service experience you had with OneGuard. We are very sorry to hear about the dissatisfaction that you experienced with the plumbing situation at your home. Our number one priority is to provide an excellent customer experience and to exceed your expectations, no matter what problem occurs at your home. Upon review of this service call, you informed OneGuard’s Customer Care representative that the plumbing company we originally dispatched to your home had a delay in scheduling service. For that we apologize. Because we understand the sense of urgency with plumbing matters that occur within the home, we offered to send out another contractor that would be able to perform the service quicker. You advised us to cancel the service call request, refund your money, and you advised us that you could make the repair to the leak under your sink yourself. We cancelled the work order to comply with your request. About two weeks later you contacted OneGuard’s Customer Care department informing us that you tried to tighten up the pipe under the sink, however it was still leaking. OneGuard immediately dispatched a contractor to your home however they were unable to locate a leak. OneGuard’s Authorizations department made the decision to send out another contractor, as a second opinion, to see if they were able to locate a leak. The contractor did in fact identify a leak at the angle stop, made the necessary repairs, and found no evidence of any additional plumbing leaks. Just over three weeks after this initial repair was made to the angle stop, you contacted OneGuard again, due to the fact that you were still experiencing a leak. We immediately sent a work order to the same contractor that was at your home prior. The contractor and OneGuard both made numerous attempts over the next four weeks to reach your tenants to no availability. Once the mutually convenient time was scheduled our technician went out to your home and diagnosed that the valve directly underneath the kitchen sink was leaking. The tenant at the property asked the technician to leave before the job was completed, due to the fact that your tenant needed to leave the home. The technician sent out to your home had every intention of making the necessary repair to the leaking valve under the sink, at that time. The technician was able to go back out to your home and make the necessary repair that was diagnosed, at a later time. The plumber that was sent to your home provided us with a complete resolution to your plumbing problem and never once communicated to us that they were unable to fix it. We apologize for any miscommunication that may have taken place in relation to this situation. We do value you as a OneGuard customer. Customer satisfaction is critical to our business and we are committed to exceeding our customers’ expectations. We do sometimes make mistakes, and when we do, we make it right. In this particular situation, we feel that our contractors did their absolute best to diagnose and repair any plumbing leaks that were found. Thank you for choosing OneGuard for your home warranty needs. We do appreciate your continued business. Sincerely, OneGuard Home Warranties

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the service experience you had with OneGuard. We are very sorry to hear about the dissatisfaction that you feel in relation to this service call. Our goal is to always get it right the first time and to provide you with an excellent customer experience while exceeding your expectations. Upon review of this service call and situation, it was determined that due to the mechanical failures your dishwasher was experiencing we immediately felt replacement of your dishwasher was the best option. OneGuard’s Authorizations team worked diligently with the contractor to expedite the installation of your dishwasher, while working around your schedule to meet your needs. We understand this caused a bit of delay in getting your dishwasher installed, which we know can be a frustrating experience for any homeowner. Per the documentation in relation to this service call, it was reported to OneGuard that the two technicians did test the dishwasher, it filled with water, they then drained the dishwasher and everything worked fine before they left your home. OneGuard reserves the right to choose to offer renewal or not offer a renewal to a customer based on our interactions with the customer. During the delay of the dishwasher installation and after the installing took place, some less than professional conversations and threats took place between you and our contractor, as well as with OneGuard representatives, which was verified via phone call recordings. Our goal is to consistently meet, then exceed, our customers’ expectations. Because we found it increasingly difficult to meet your needs and expectations, OneGuard decided to not offer you a renewal for this upcoming year. Sincerely, OneGuard Home Warranties

This company is horrible. They sent a contractor that ruined my oven. They refused to pay for the repair to the oven that the repairman did. They sent a second company who did get the oven working but also stated that the damage done by the previous repairman should never have happened. The first guy (from Stevens Appliance) tried to rip the oven out of the wall unnecessarily. In the mean time he ruined the trim and hinges on then door. The oven never needed to be removed. One Guard has been horrible to deal with. Pease use another home warranty company.
Description of Work: Oven repair. It was a simple repair and they sent a contractor who didn't know that they were doing. The contractor tried to yank the built oven from the wall. They made me remove wall trimming at my own cost and then they removed some trimming and gouged the sheet rock. They additionally rocked the oven so hard that the oven hinges are now loose. One guard sent a 'second opinion' contractor who quickly fixed the original issue with the oven. The oven didn't need to be removed from the wall. One guard refused to pay for any of the damages.

All contractors showed within their time windows as they committed to do. All the problems were dealt with successfully. The OneGuard people were very professional in how they set up the appointments and how they handled the extra situation when it presented itself. We did some research before we chose them and we are extremely pleased with our experience so far. We had the a/c contractor do some additional work not covered under the warranty or tune-up and that amount is not reflected in the total spent, which is an estimate.
Description of Work: Had 5 items that needed work under the warranty: re-key, inoperative central a/c of a little used unit, a/c heating tune-up, inoperative exhaust fan in one bathroom, and a problem with large ants. I contacted OneGuard and they were very professional in setting up the appointments and being clear about whether I would pay the service fee directly to the provider or to OneGuard. They set up the providers, and all providers called to set up their appointments within the set time quoted by OneGuard. The appointments were spread over a 4 day period, with the "median" date being 3/6/13. While a/c contractor was doing the spring tune up, he found a problem with another unit, so we called OneGuard to file a claim on that. After asking a lot of questions, that service was also approved under the warranty.

Claim denied and I canceled the warranty which has to be done in writing, and will be checking for another company.
Description of Work: This is the worse home warranty company that I have ever experienced. I am a Realtor, and ordered the home warranty about 5 days ago for my personal use. The companies theroy is that "Stuff Breaks". My warranty was 599.00 to include an option for pre-exisiting conditions. On Monday I noticed my dryer making noice and then I heard a thump and it stopped heating. I called the company and the service man came out the next day only to confirm what I had told him after personally diagnosing it. The tech got her and left telling me that he would be back the next morning with the part. As soon as the tech left he contacted the warranty company to tell them that this is a pre-existing condition. The rep from One guard called me questioning me about when the problem was first noticed? I told him the same thing mentioned above which was the truth. He said the tech thinks that this problem had been going on since prior purchasing the warranty? I mentioned that if this had been a problem for longer, then why would I spend 599.00 on a warranty when the part was only 107.00 and wait to get my dryer fixed? Still calling me a liar and not listening to logic, they said they would call me back with their decision. I finally recieved a call at 3:30 today, after leaving an urgen message for Tina. They determined my claim is denied. I have never been treated like this, even with the worse HOW companies I have expericed in 17 years of using them. Bottom line is if you don't want to be called a liar if something should break prior to whatever time period it's been given and don't want to fight to get your money back, then don't use them. Yes I am angry and insulted, but believe me, this is not professional, especially since I am seeking to also find a company for my clients that I would use. I don't recommend anything that I would not personally use.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the service experience you’ve had with OneGuard. We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with our service. Customer satisfaction is critical to our business and we are committed to exceeding our customers’ expectations whenever possible. We do sometimes make mistakes, and when we do we make it right. With that in mind, and in an effort to ensure that we’ve done everything possible to provide some measure of satisfaction, we have performed a thorough review of your claim, the details of which are provided in the following paragraphs. In the days leading up to your complaint, our team did everything we could to be of assistance to you, and to explain that our warranty does not provide coverage for “pre-existing conditions.” You are slightly in error when you write that the warranty you purchased included an option for “pre-existing conditions.” While you did order an option with your warranty, you purchased our “Unknown Pre-existing Conditions” coverage. This is the only type of “pre-existing” coverage we provide, and the distinction between “pre-existing” and “unknown pre-existing” is critical. The following is excerpted from our residential services agreement, a copy of which was provided to you on March 7, 2013; our unknown pre-existing conditions coverage is defined as: “[Coverage for] failures of covered items caused by unknown pre-existing conditions…so long as the mechanical failure was a result of normal wear-and-tear and would not have been detectable by a simple visual inspection and/or by operating the system or appliance. Known problems or defects that existed on the effective date of this service contract are not covered by this option.” Your residential service contract became effective on Thursday, March 7. On the morning of Tuesday, March 12, our staff processed a claim submitted by you, and dispatched a contractor to diagnose the problem. (Though we appreciate your assessment, as you write that you had “Personally diagnosed it [the dryer;]” we are obligated to seek a formal diagnosis from a professional contractor.) On the following day, Wednesday, March 13, the contractor visited your home and diagnosed the problem with your dryer. The contractor not only found that the blower wheel was inoperable but that it had been totally stripped out. Upon telephonic consultation with our authorizations department, he stated, “The [blower] wheel itself would not have stripped out in a short period of time, that takes a long period of time… the blower wheel [is] stripped totally through.” Further, it was the contractor’s professional opinion that the impending failure would have caused significant noise for at least a month prior to the breakdown, as well as noise indicative of an impending failure for up to “a couple of months” before the ultimate failure occurred. As a result of these findings, it was his professional opinion that the noise and other symptoms of this problem would have been recognized for at least a month prior to the service call date. Therefore, it is our collective opinion that this problem could not have been an “unknown” pre-existing problem and that this problem would have been detectable by a simple visual inspection and/or by operating the system or appliance. Thus, this problem was not an “unknown” pre-existing problem covered by the terms of the residential service agreement. In an effort to better assist you, and to verify the initial contractor’s assessment, OneGuard sought the opinion of a second contractor. This second contractor independently confirmed the evaluation provided by the first contractor, and agreed that the condition of the dryer would have resulted in noticeable noise for a long period of time. Subsequent to your complaint, a company vice president performed an audit of your case. Upon review of notes and recorded telephone conversations, and the independent assessment of two separate contractors – due to the fact the mechanical failure occurred prior to the contract date between yourself and OneGuard, and in accordance with our residential service contract – OneGuard is not able to provide coverage for your dryer claim. Additionally, at no time did any member of our staff call you a liar, as you assert in your complaint. Though we regret that you are not happy with our assessment, we find that OneGuard has acted in good faith and in accordance with our contractual obligations. Sincerely, OneGuard Home Warranties

We dropped this coverage because the company went to great length accusing us of lying about the timing of our pool pump break down. They suggested that the pump failure occurred weeks prior. They sent their contractor (we paid for the service call) who failed the first time to thoroughly check the pool and then came back three days later as a pool investigator. He found few leaves on the pool and reported them to oneguard. Based on those leaves Oneguard asked us to send proof of previous warranty and if pump was covered. Oneguard is based in Arizona and probably doesn't understand that after windy, rainy and a snowy Xmas day in Texas, the pool can not be spotless. We faxed a copy of previous warranty including pool pump coverage but that was not sufficient. We found oneguard to be on business of denying clams and will go to extreme reasons to do so.

Thank you for taking the time to share your service experience with us. OneGuard goes to great lengths to cover claims, thus the reason why 97% of mechanical breakdowns called in to our office are covered. The intent of the service contract is to cover mechanical failures that occur to your homes systems and appliances when they fail due to normal wear and tear, after the effective date. You purchased your home warranty with OneGuard via our website on December 22, 2012. The service contract went into effect on December 23, 2012. You reported a major mechanical failure with your pool pump motor just 3 days later. Based on the professional diagnosis of our contractor, as well as reviewing the pictures that were taken of your pool, there is evidence that the pool pump motor hadn’t been running for a least a week or longer due to the cloudiness of the pool water and the fact that there was no evidence that the floor cleaning system had been functional. There was a great amount of dirt and debris at the bottom of the pool, and no cleaning system tracks present. Again, we do our due diligence to find a way to cover a claim even on a service contract that is just 3 days old. However, due to the fact that you weren’t able or willing to provide OneGuard with a copy of your previous home warranty service agreement, to review your previous coverage, in order to take that into consideration, we felt the evidence presented indicated the system failed prior to the effective date of your service contract coverage with OneGuard. What you did send to us was a two page confirmation document, showing intent to order a home warranty at an estimated close of escrow date. OneGuard is not in receipt of any proof of prior coverage with another service company. We are very sorry for this situation and wish we were able to cover your claim. We do our best to ensure that we provide an exceptional level of customer satisfaction and our goal is to always exceed your expectations. Sincerely, OneGuard Home Warranties

I would highly suggest getting a warranty with this company. Well worth the money.
Description of Work: We purchased this warranty with our house well actually the sellers purchased it. We have been very happy. We have used them multiple times already. Twice for big things and the company they sent worked with the warranty company and was able to have everything we needed covered. So far we have been happy with all the companies they sent out but one. And the company itself seemed fine only problem was they sent a technician who spoke no English. Not even a little. It was very hard to communicate. Had to call his boss and have him translate everything. Would have been easier if the boss had come. Other than that he did a great job fixing what was needed. It's just hard to explain what is wrong and find out how it will be fixed when you don't speak the same language. Every job has been completed well and in a very timely manner.

Not satisfied with my initial call for service of A/C unit not cooling. Called the number for emergency service and was told it would not be until the next business day to get someone out to my house to repair or even look at the A/C unit. I implored with the person on the phone that the temperature in Dallas was well over 100 degrees and my in-house temperature was approaching 90. After arguing with the person for 20 minutes she was able to contact someone that would be out that evening. Never had this much trouble getting someone to live up to a guarantee. Will probably select another company next year when the contract is completed.

Thank you for taking the time to share your service experience. We strive to provide our customers with same day service no matter what the situation is. And we certainly understand the urgency when it’s extremely hot outside. The contractor that was originally selected to service your home had a full schedule of appointments that day. Fortunately, we were able to call around and find another contractor that had an opening that same day. The expectation we have for our contractors is to reach out and get you scheduled within a 4 hour window. We are able to get same day service often, however we are unable to guarantee service within 4 hours of your call into us. We listen, we care, and we are responsive to your needs. We will always strive to exceed your expectation. We certainly have appreciated you choosing OneGuard for your home warranty needs this year. We hope to continue to service your home in the future. One Guard answered my call, asked a few questions, and that same day I got a called from the plumber. The water heater was not repairable, so the next day a new water heater was delivered and installed. I had to pay the $60 service fee, which is normal plus about $200.00 extra to bring the new installation to current building codes and also for some features I wanted. Other than that, the warranty co paid the remainder. I was very pleased with the service and responsiveness of both the warranty co (One Guard) and the plumber they sent.

I tried to fix my shower faucet as it broke and it was tough to turn on/off and control regularity and flow. The guy came out, who was contracted by One Guard and fixed the faucet the easiest way possible. I was definitely willing to pay $55 to get my shower working again as opposed to trying to fix a complicated problem by myself (as I am not great with plumbing but can get by in a lot of situations.

I was happy with One Guard (as described above) and Paradise Plumbing. It was my first request so I hope if I have any other issues it will go as smooth as this one did.
Description of Work: This was my first work order to deal with One Guard Home Warranty. What I really like about them is they actually answer the phone and you do not have to go through a bunch of menus or someone will call you back. The person who took the order was very nice, understood my problem, and confirmed by email what company would perform the work and the date and time. Paradise Plumbing was sent to fix a problem with my toilet. They replaced the flush valve and it did not cost me anything except for the usual service charge. They were knowledgeable, professional and very prompt. They called me 30 min before the appt so I could leave my office to meet them. I was very skeptical about going with another home warranty company since I had bad results with American Home Shield. One Guard has really given me a different outlook on home warranty companies. Even though they are based in Arizona they an office in Dallas. I definitely would give them a shot! One Guard - keep up the good work!

Our home purchase included one-year home warranty. The house was 6 years old; so, we did not expect to use the warranty service. However, in October and November problems occurred with the a/c motor, the starter for the refrigerator compressor, motor for the garage door opener and our home electrical system. OneGuard was with us each and every time, and their personnel were professional and very patient, even when I was frustrated and upset because of situation. OneGuard immediately contacted service companies in my area for each problem and sent us an e-mail with the contact information. Each service call cost $59, and the companies that were contacted performed good service. If it happened that the problem was not something covered by the warranty, then a diagnosis of the problem's source was given so that we could decide how and with whom the problem would be resolved. We highly recommend their service.

ortuneately I have not needed to call them yet but I am a Mortgage Closer and I do see many people choose this Company at the time of closing.
Description of Work: I just purchased my home in July and did a lot of research to pick a Home Warranty company. I found this Company to cover the most (home plus appliances and systems) for the least amount of cost upfront and per service co-pay.

I have not used them, only obtained an estimate but plan on using them with my next home we purchase (we are currently in a rental between homes). They were extremely nice and upfront and their warranty is so much more robust than the other companies I was comparing.

OneGuard is a home warranty company who assigns contractors to perform work on their behalf. They are very curtious and prompt. We have used them three times, once for AC, once for plumbing and once for oven repair. The AC and oven repair contractors were prompt, curtious and fixed the problems with no issues. The first plumber they assigned, Precision Plumbing, did not show up and they were very rude when we tried to reschedule, but the second one that OneGaurd assigned was very good. Each service call costs $59.00. I would highly recommend OneGaurd for a home Wararnty

My water heater needed replacing so i called my home warranty provider OneGuard. They in turn subcontracted the job out to J National, of 17806 Davenport Rd., Suite 104, Dallas, Texas 75252 Phone 972.776.0010 Fax 972.776.0038 I live in a three floor townhouse. The water heater is in the ceiling of the third floor. When J National (One Guards subcontractor) came to replace the water heater they stepped on and broke a water line. When the water heater was replaced they turned on the water and flooded two rooms, and did additional damage to various other locations due to the water draining down into the flooring and following the ducts. J Nation would not remove the soaked padding under the carpet, would not dry out the wood floor boards that were soaked from the damage. The damage was so extensive that J National stated that they had lost so much money on the project so far that they were not going to do anything more to fix the problem than they had done which amounted to getting the carpet dry (even thought the padding and the flooring was still wet), and take out a small area of sheet rock. They planned on using sealing primer on the remaining area to hide the stain damage then paint over it to avoid fixing the problem correctly. They would not address the damage to the second floor as the water drained down through the flooring. I finally got my insurance company to step in and get the damages repaired. During this year long process of trying to get reimbursed for my damages I was told by J National the subcontractor that they claimed no responsibility for the damages. I then reached out to One Guard who i have a warranty contract with and was told to turn it over to my insurance as they would not claim responsibility for their subcontractor. The customer experience is of the utmost importance to OneGuard. The events that took place at your home were indeed unfortunate and regrettable, and we can appreciate how the circumstances surrounding these events would have caused your experience to be less than exemplary. Since our mission is to make home ownership a little bit easier, we never want to add to the madness that comes from unexpected breakdowns. We’re very sorry that a normally simple repair became much more impactful, and we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused you. As you know, members of our team have been in constant contact with you since December of 2011 when these events took place. We have since carefully and thoroughly reviewed all of the details pertaining to your situation, including call recordings, correspondence and other documentation. We find that our contractor, Services by J. National, dispatched a water-damage remediation company to your home almost immediately (they arrived within one hour following the time the damage occurred). The contractor notified us of the events that took place as well as the steps they had taken to remedy the problem. Also, we understand your own homeowners insurance was involved and completed some repairs as well, concluding that all necessary repairs in your home were completed. It was reported to us that all damage caused by the leaking water had been corrected. We have been notified of the fact that the contractor’s general liability insurance company has been in contact with your homeowner’s insurance company, and that your homeowner’s insurance carrier has completely indemnified you. You seem to feel that you still have damages for which you have not been compensated (or that have not been corrected), and you have stated that it “Cost [you] $1500 for damages caused during a water heater replacement.” Since these statements are in conflict with the information provided to us by our contractor and the involved insurance providers, we find that we have no additional input that may be of assistance to you. If you are seeking additional compensation, or reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses, deductibles, etc., we recommend that you do so by working directly with your homeowner’s insurance company. It’s regrettable that you feel we have not lived up to our commitment. In point of fact, you contacted OneGuard due to problems with your hot water heater, and we dispatched a contractor, authorized replacement of the unit, and covered the cost of hardware and installation. All of this cost you nothing more than the $59 service fee outlined in our contract. Though we cannot guarantee that mistakes will never occur, we take prudent steps to insulate our customers. We work with licensed, insured, professional contractors and regularly review their performance and customer satisfaction ratings. Appropriate avenues for redress are available to you; however, since OneGuard has no additional liability in this matter, these paths will lead you to your homeowner’s insurance company – a destination where we fully expect you can find some measure of satisfaction. We recognize that you feel more is warranted, but we are confident that we’ve acted appropriately and in accordance with our contractual obligations and commitment to provide our customers with the best possible home warranty solution. Again, we are very sorry for the circumstances that have caused you so much frustration. We sincerely wish you well and thank you for your business. Sincerely, OneGuard Home Warranties
