On October 12, 2018, OneGuard sent their contractor, Pruitt’s Plumbing, to respond to my service request to repair a corroded above-ground section of the main water service line entering our home. This apparently had been caused by a slow leak at the shut-off valve. My Residential Service Contract with OneGuard includes Extended Main Line Plumbing coverage. I was subsequently informed by OneGuard that they were not responsible for the repair because Pruitt’s reported that, “The T that is leaking is for the irrigation system – policy does not have sprinkler coverage.” When I called OneGuard, they informed me that Pruitt’s would be happy to repair the section of pipe for a direct payment to them of $240. Take a look at the pictures and you will see that the main water service line is directly connected via a "T" to the sprinkler system, and the section of pipe that needed to be replaced was exclusively confined to the vertical section of the water supply, not the irrigation system. I subsequently contacted another plumber, Coyote Plumbing, who performed the repair and provided the enclosed receipt showing the repair was made to the main water service line, not the irrigation system. I feel that OneGuard acted unreasonably when they refused to pay the claim. I've had previous issues with them honoring their coverage but this is the last straw. Buyer beware. There are better options out there.

I have had OneGuard warranties on my home and rental properties since 2011. Back then the company was called Service One. I was very impressed with the way my early claims were handled, but each year the quality of the work has deteriorated. In 2014 I stopped using OneGuard for any plumbing issues after a plumber botched the installation of a garbage disposal. For the last couple of years I have shopped for other options when it came time to renew but grudgingly stuck with OneGuard. However the horrible service I have received for the last 14 months on the A/C of one of my rental properties has finally driven me to cancel my three policies. In July 2017 the A/C stopped working. The technician from Trademasters said the 15 year old unit needed a new compressor. For a $1000 fee he could replace the compressor that day otherwise we would have to wait 5 to 7 days. At least OneGuard reimbursed part of the hotel stay our tenants required due to the heat. Our cost for the new compressor was $789. In March 2018 we tried to schedule a pre-season start up but the company assigned the task (Cool Blew) canceled our tenant’s appointments because they were too busy with repair calls. Finally in May 2018 the A/C died. Cool Blew just added two pounds of refrigerant. A month later the unit died again. Cool Blew again added two pounds of refrigerant and we had to pay them $100 for it on top of the $69 service charge. So Cool Blew added four pounds of refrigerant in a month and never checked for a leak! On Thursday, September 6 the A/C stopped working for the third time this summer. The company assigned to the work order couldn’t check on the unit until Monday. Brad from Collins Commercial reported that ALL the refrigerant (9 pounds) had leaked out. I insisted he look for a leak. He initially told me that the coil looked bad and should be replaced. I was told he was going to contact One Guard to “start the process”. An hour or so later he called back to say that the “coil was not as bad as I thought”. He told me that he had “fixed the coil and it was fine now”. I had no confidence in that assessment so I called Parker & Sons and scheduled an inspection of the unit for Monday, September 17. On Friday afternoon, September 14, my tenant called to say the A/C had stopped working again. Monday’s “repair” had only lasted 4 days. When I called in the service request I was told my tenant would be called in 4 business hours, meaning Monday morning. That meant they would have to endure another weekend without A/ C. I asked if OneGuard would reimburse a hotel stay for the weekend and was told that could not be approved until the technician checked the unit. I gave up on OneGuard and called Parker and Sons. THEY were willing to check the unit on Saturday morning. THEIR technician asked me how long I planned to keep the house. When I told him I had no plans to sell it in my lifetime, he recommended replacing the A/C. Parker & Sons installed the new unit Monday morning. I had told my tenant to tell Collins Commercial not to bother coming out, but they didn’t even call her on Monday at all. It was late Tuesday when someone from OneGuard called me to say there had been a mix-up in the phone numbers and Collins would be calling to schedule service. While I was on the phone with OneGuard someone from Collins left ME a voice mail trying to schedule a service call. So once again One Guard got the phone number wrong and Collins was calling ME to schedule a repair not my tenant. Which meant that my tenant, had I depended on One Guard, would have waited from Friday to Tuesday with no A/C hoping someone would come by to try to fix the A/C again. MY Customer’s happiness is important to me. It is sad that One Guard does not feel the same way. Here are my issues with OneGuard’s business model: 1. OneGuard just provides cheap “band aid” fixes, not thorough repairs. 2. The do not provide any kind of weekend service. 3. They do not look for A/C leaks unless more than 3 pounds of refrigerant has been replaced. 4. They do not provide the technicians they send out any repair history. We had three different companies working on the unit and none of them knew what had been done previously 5. They never seem to learn to contact the tenant to schedule

OneGuard is the only home warranty company I have dealt with since becoming a homeowner so it's possible there are worse companies out there. However, our experience with them has varied from infuriating to disappointing to confusing for most of this year. It took their partner technicians months to diagnose our A/C issue during the hottest part of the year and despite record-breaking temperatures, we weren't offered reimbursement to stay at a hotel until I literally begged them to grant it to us. The incompetence of their partner and the lack of empathy on the part of OneGuard were completely mind-boggling. And if the majority of the OneGuard staff wasn't asinine enough, the repair partners they have are equally unprofessional, incompetent, and downright impossible to even talk to most of the time. Even a simple repair to our microwave has taken almost a month and is still unresolved. And OneGuard's response is just "sorry, there's nothing we can do about them." Um, you choose these partners, there's no way you can be oblivious to how awful their level of service is. There have been a few bright spots--a couple customer service reps were actually empathetic and offered us hotel reimbursement and even a service call reimbursement after I told them we had been visited by the initial technician over eight times and the second technician three times to resolve our A/C issue. Thanks for being human, Veronica and Audrianna. If you're in the market for a new home warranty company, do yourself a favor and don't choose OneGuard. I can't wait until our last service issue is resolved so I can immediately switch away from them.

I would give zero stars if it was an option. In Phoenix in the summer, they wanted us to wait close to a week to service our air conditioner. They have repaired it multiple times by replacing freon. They never fixed the leak and all the repairman told us that the unit needs to be replaced. One Guard actually told me it was too expensive for them to replace the unit - even though our warranty states that they will. This year, they changed their policy so that I have to pay for the freon and they still won't repair the leak. The cost noted below is the monthly fee for their coverage. There is a copay when they come to the house plus the cost of the freon. Their contracts don't mean anything and they will cheat you. We called to cancel and you can buy a policy on the weekend but they can't cancel the account. Stay far, far away!!

Tina, at One Guard Home Warranty, was very efficient and helpful. A repair person was sent to fix my gas range...parts were no longer available for the repair.The company agreed to replace my range as per our contract. Tina came up with a very suitable replacement for my range, cost me only a $28 install parts fee. I checked out other upgraded models and found none were better for me than Tina's suggestion. All arrangements were made by e-mails and a few phone calls that I really did not need to make. OGHW worked with me when I had to delay installation because I had to leave town for a family emergency. The installers, Barlow Co. sent employees who were very competent, careful, and made quick work of installing the new range and microwave (I expected hours of work...they were on time, cleaned up, and were out of here in less than an hour). I chose to replace my microwave at the same time, told OGHW the model I wanted; Tina arranged for the same installers to bring both appliances and install at the same time. I am very pleased and enjoying my new appliances! I have been with OGHW for many years and appreciate the peace of mind I have using them for all my home warranty needs.

We purchased a Home Warranty last year just to protect ourselves and our home if issues came up. We're so glad we went with OneGuard. We did a ton of research on Home Warranty companies and he went with OneGuard because of the services they include along with their service fee. OneGuard wasn't the cheapest premium but because their service fee is more reasonable than so many other companies OneGuard actually turned out to be the most reasonable over time. We chose to add the Built-in Pool/Spa Coverage along with the HVAC Incompatibility Coverage. We were also lucky enough to get the deal they were running at the time, which also saved us money. I know with any company you'll also see bad reviews, but overall we have been very happy with the service and professionalism of this company. I would definitely recommend you read all the fine print when adding additional coverage. OneGuard's Built-in Pool/Spa Coverage covered a lot more equipment than other Home Warranties optional coverages.

I have had OneGuard since we bought our home 2 1/2 years ago. I had done some research on different warranty companies and felt that OneGuard was a good fit for us. I have not been disappointed. We have had plumbing work, appliance work, and A/C work done. Our recent issue was with my washing machine. OneGuard determined that it was better to replace my old unit instead of fixing it. So I got a new washer! The process each time has been simple and all issues have been taken care of by great companies they are partnered with. I am very happy! As soon as we can, we plan to also add a plan to cover our rental property.

I have received great service from one guard. Some of the best service, I just received, was concerning the replacement of a broken dishwasher. Worst company ever!! WILL NOT REPLACE OR FIX ANYTHING! DO NOT USE AS YOUR HOME WARRANTY.... JUST FLUSH YOUR MONEY DOWN THEYTOILET INSTEAD, SAME CONCEPT. I called this morning to discuss the same issue that has been going on with my a/c unit for the past 6 months. I have had them out here 4 times now. I most recently had them out here 31 days ago because our heat wasn’t working (30 days is the cut off for a reopen of same ticket). The nice lady named shari I talked to thugs am said since it was 31 days ago she would need to get approval from her manager. Mind you... I have a 6 month old baby who is very sick at home and we are suffering in a freezing cold home.. after speaking to her manager, she said nope. The “system won’t let her reopen it”. I have paid for 4! 4!!!! Tickets regarding the same issue and because it happened AGAIN one day late I have to pay again. This company is a scam and does. It work with there customers or try and provide decent customer service. So sad that people act like this and just take your money left and right without fixing your problem. I don’t understand how he can feel good about themselves as a company or employee. The manager name was ELISHA PEREZ. Awful customer service by her part. They don’t care about you or your family just the dollar and how much she can get out of you. After talking to the a/c companies they sent out, this company apparently try’s to do anything and m everything to temporarily fix your problem or half *** patch the problem so you keep bending more work orders. PLEASE if you are looking for a company do not use this one. I wish I would have read these reviews prior to picking out my home warranty on this home for my family and I. I have learned my lesson.

Description of Work: I have been a faithful customer of OneGuard since 2010 and will never be without them. They have been a lifesaver to me and my family. Over the years I have called on them dozens of times and they have never tried to back out of their contractual obligations. I always talk to the repair people when they come to do work on my house. Without exception each and everyone of them have complimented OneGuard. They compare OneGuard to other warrantee companies and talk about how fair they are and how easy they are to work with. They have cited examples of how other warrantee companies actually tell service repair workers to "go out and figure out how to blame it on the owner for negligence and get out of doing the work."

Great. Oneguard was very easy to deal with, sent a very competent appliance repair shop to diagnose, allowed me to upgrade to a larger unit and pay the difference. I had to pay for the new trim kit and about 100 dollars for the upgraded unit. New unit is installed, looks good and working great. Oneguard has been a great warranty company for us. Had HSA Warranty but they stopped writing policies in our state. Switched to oneguard in Aug 2016 and been very happy.
Description of Work: New microwave and front plate/trim kit. Replaced old 15 year old microwave that stopped working. Upgraded from 1.5 cubic volume to 2.2 size.

Great. Very happy with this warranty company. Easy to file claims (mostly online, very intuitive web interface) and their vendors' responsiveness is always very good. Cost is slightly higher than what I paid annually with HSA, although customer service is much better. I used to have to sit on hold for a long time with my warranty with HSA, and Oneguard is very helpful and timely when you call them up to discuss a claim or have a question. I recommend Oneguard.
Description of Work: Purchased annual home warranty from Oneguard. My prior home warranty company, HSA (Home Security) stopped writing policies in Texas. Oneguard was recommended by a real estate agent that we know. We also added additional coverage's for pool, spa, 2nd refrigerator, etc.

I've had OneGaurd since I purchased my new home in 2015. They have saved me too many times to count! What impresses me most is their customer service. If I am ever unhappy with a contractor, all I have to do is shoot them an email and within 24 hours I'm getting a call back to address my concerns and action is taken on my behalf. They then continue to follow up until all my issues are resolved. Thanks One Gaurd, especially Lisa Kuhn and Tina Launders! They went above and beyond with my last issue and were simply AMAZING. I highly recommend OneGaurd for anyone looking for a home warranty.
