Hired Allied/Olympian (their at the time - not surprised they changed their name given the number of bad reviews all over the internet!) for a cross country move in April of 2022. Received a binding, full replacement value insured quote from Jeanie S, and after they had picked up my items tried to solicit me via TEXT MESSAGE for additional funds. When reported to Sirva (Allied's customer service), they confirmed that Olympian needed to file specific change paperwork with Allied to request additional funds due to weight discrepancy and communicated this to Olympian. Olympian then declined to fill out said paperwork. Smells like an under the table grift to me. Then, Jeanie never updated the weight in their system, even though it sat in their storage facility for two months after pickup, meaning the driver they assigned didn't have sufficient room in the truck so just left my move at the warehouse. Olympian NEVER communicated this to me. I found out after calling them from a number they did not have on file, after realizing my move "coordinator," Sina M (who did not coordinate a single part of my move without Sirva getting involved) was screening my calls. Also, would you like to know all about Sina's health issues and pet woes that caused her to do literally nothing to coordinate my move? I have them all in writing in case you're interested (which honestly probably took longer for her to email to me than it would have taken to do her job in the first place). My shipment arrived nearly a month late. I hired Olympian to do crating - they destroyed every item but one that I paid for them to crate. We're currently up to $4K in damages on a $12K move, and there's still items out for dispute over a year after the move, and four months into the claims process. Unprofessional doesn't begin to describe this company. Avoid at all costs unless you're really keen on working with unscrupulous, incompetent people with zero communication skills.

BUYER BEWARE ? RUN DO NOT WALK) AS FAST & FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS YOU CAN. I received a low-ball estimate ($1,350) for packing & move 3 BLOCKS AWAY. My father passed away 5 days later. Plans halted to East for his funeral. I MOVED 13 MONTHS AGO. OLYMPIAN STILL HASN'T PAID $1,500 TO REPAIR DAMAGES. I PAID THE HIGHEST PREMIUM FOR ZERO DEDUCTIBLE. I REQUESTED REFUND FOR PORTION OF eXCESSIVE PACKING. OLYMPIAN IS ATTEMPTING TO BLACKMAIL ME INTO SIGNING RELEASE FOR "ANY & ALL CLAIMS, KNOWN & UNKNOWN." THEY'RE WITHHOLDING PAYMENT BECAUSE I WON'T SIGN. THERE ARE 2 SEPARATE ISSUES ? DAMAGES & EXCESSIVE PACKING. A truck was taken to their warehouse for 4 days. I don't know where my property actually was or how it was treated. Olympian refused to process my claim until I stated I'd unpacked all the boxes. I had nowhere to unpack the boxes, but had to say so they would process my claim. Any stared any damages found later wouldn't be covered. I had vacate the home I sold. I planned to downsize & hold an estate sale. When my father passed away unexpectedly. When I returned from funeral, my house was "full-pack" even though I packed for longer hours. Olympian took full advantage of this. Although they couldn't provide additional packers, they packed in an excessive manner. I moved across country & did all the packing; there was less than $100 in damage. Within 3 blocks, Olympian did $1,500 damage. They ran their operations so lean, they didn't have another packer to help. Two packers were scheduled; one packer showed up 11:30am stating he was "pulled off another job." Packing took 2.5 days. Second day, packer brought his kid for 1 day. Not she was an employee. I told her not to pack jewelry box. She kept hounding me; I finally just said, "Pack it." She'd packed it in box by itself marking it "pillows" she claimed. After I moved, I opened every box marked "pillows" & couldn't find it. I opened every box marked "Master Bedroom." Jewelry box (12x18x5) was alone was in large 4.5 cu.ft. box (18x18x38 with 10 lbs. packing paper); it was marked, "Jewelry Box." No boxes numbered because they "don't do that for a local move." When I asked packer how he knew which boxes he'd already counted, he gave me a dirty and said, "I've been doing this a long time." Put numbers on boxes so you can keep track. Olympian has bad reviews for excessive packing. I'm still fighting for reimbursement from 13 months ago. I lost entire liquor cabinet packed with rancid salad dressing & wall décor. There was approx. 7 lbs. of packing paper in each box. Move exceeded 1,000 lbs. of packing paper. The boxes have no handles; you can't maneuver them; they weight 50-60 lbs. & stacked 3 high. I had major surgery & couldn't handle these boxes. They put very little information (description) on them. You'll need to repurchase items you can't find. They state you're not paying for packing supplies. Of course you pay for packing materials as they're built into the price for each type box packed. MAKE SURE IF PACKER IS ALSO MOVER YOU'RE ONLY CHARGED FOR PACKING WHEN MOVER IS PACKING. AN HOURLY RATE IS CHARGED FOR MOVERS. IF THEY PACK, THEY MUST GO OFF THE CLOCK AS A MOVER; OTHERWISE, THIS IS DOUBLE-DIPPING. When I questioned packing charges, they said they used an old form so prices are higher. THEY SHOULD EAT THEIR MISTAKE & NOT PASS IT ON TO ME. LOW-BALL ESTIMATE EXPLODED TO $6,824. WHEN I EXPLAINED I COULDN'T PAY AMOUNT; NEEDED TO REQUEST FUNDS FROM IRA (TAKES 1 WEEK), I WAS TOLD BY OWNER, THOMAS DAVIDSON, TO PUT IT IN A LETTER IN WRITING SO SALES CONSULTANT, MIKE TUTTLE, COULD PICK UP LETTER. OWNER SAID MOVERS WOULD BE THERE EARLY NEXT MORNING. NO ONE SHOWED UP; REPEATED CALLS TO MIKE TUTTLE WEREN'T RETURNED. AT 11:00AM, I SPOKE TO THOMAS DAVIDSON. HE SAID, "WE DON'T TAKE COD'S. YOUR MOVE WASN'T SCHEDULED." THOMAS DAVIDSON HIJACKED MY MOVE, LIED & LED ME TO BELIEVE I COULD PAY CHARGES AFTER RECEIVING FUNDS FROM IRA. HE SCAMMED ME FORCING ME TO ASK A HUGE FAVOR FROM SOMEONE TO PUT NEAR $7,000 ON THEIR CREDIT CARD. THOMAS DAVIDSON IS ARROGANT & RUDE; ALL YOU GET FROM HIM IS NOTHING IS HIS OR COMPANY'S FAULT. FURNITURE WASN'T WRAPPED, WAS DAMAGED & COVERED IN SWEAT STAINS. BEDDING WAS CRAMMED INTO BOXES WITH NO PROTECTION. LUCKILY I LIFTED THE TAPED FLAPS BEFORE SLICING WITH KNIFE; OTHERWISE, I'D HAVE RUINED $600 BEDDING. Cost $2,000 in storage fees due to excessive packing. Olympian's Operations dropped the ball. On move day, the same 3-man crew & small truck were sent. When movers saw what was to be moved, they said, "You were low-balled." If you're a single woman, don't do this alone. Take pictures & GET EVERY ITEM THING IN WRITING. OLYMPIAN MADE A DEVASTATING SITUATION UNBEARABLE. I TAKE EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO TELL ALL OF MY EXPERIENCE IN HOPES I CAN SPARE AT LEAST 1 PERSON.
Description of Work: There are several issues: 1. The owner of the company, THOMAS DAVIDSON, intentionally scammed me. When the low-ball estimate exploded from $1,350 to nearly $7,000, I called the Sales Consultant, MIKE TUTTLE, to explain I unprepared to pay that amount. I explained I'd have to order funds from IRA, which takes a week. SPOKE THOMAS DAVIDSON WHO SAID TO PUT IN WRITING IN A LETTER; HE SAID THE MOVERS WOULD BE THERE EARLY THE NEXT MORNING. NO ONE SHOWED UP. CALLS TO MIKE TUTTLE WERE NOT RETURNED. SPOKED TO THOMAS DAVIDSON AT 11:00AM. HE SAID, "WE DON'T ACCEPT CODS. YOUR MOVE WAS NOT SCHEDULED." HE SET ME UP SO I WOULD HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO ASK SOMEONE TO PUT $7,000 ON THEIR CREDIT CARD. THOMAS DAVIDSON IS A LIAR, A SCAMMER, UNPROFESSIONAL, ARROGANT AND RUDE. RUN - DO NOT WALK - AS FAST AND AS FAR AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. RESEARCH THEM, THERE ARE MANY REVIEWS FOR EXCESSIVE PACKING, ETC. WHEN YOU DO TO THEIR WEB SITE, ALL THE REVIEWS ARE 5 STARS. DO THEY REALLY THINK PEOPLE ARE THAT NAIVE - OF COURSE THEY WROTE THE REVIEWS THEMSELVES. Honest reviews show a mix of good and bad. Having all 5 star reviews is a HUGE RED FLAG YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED. AFTER THE TREATMENT I RECEIVED, IT MAKES THAT FEELING ALL THE MORE STRONGER. 2. Company is refusing to pay for the damages they caused 13 months ago in JULY 2014, in the amount $1,500 for a 3-block move. I have argued there were excessive packing charges, which they ignore. They are trying to BLACKMAIL me into signing a release, which will them from "any and all claims, known and unknown." They are refusing to pay FOR 13 MONTHS FOR THE $1,500 DAMAGES THEY CAUSED UNLESS I SIGN THEIR RELEASE. THEY ARE ATTEMPTED TO LUMP 2 SOLE AND SEPARATE ISSUES TOGETHER. THEY ARE REFUSING TO PAY FOR THE DAMAGES FROM 13 MONTHS AGO BECAUSE I WILL NOT SIGN THEIR RELEASE. MY LOW-BALL ESTIMATE EXPLODED TO NEARLY $7,000. 3. On move day, the Operations Department sent the same 3-man crew and small truck. The job changes; however, they were asleep at the wheel. 4. Two scheduled packers did not arrive between 8-10 as I was told; 1 packer showed up at 11:30 stated he was "pulled off another job." 5. No additional packers were available, so packer brought his kid; not sure she was an employee. 6. $1,500 in damages done in move that was 3 BLOCKS FROM OLD HOME TO NEW. 7. Excessive packing drove estimate to nearly $7,000; while was furniture was not blanketed so it was damaged and/or broken, items were thrown in boxes unwrapped and without cushioning inside. 8. Expensive bedding was crammed into boxes with no protection that were so stuffed, they were round on the top. If I had not lifted the taped flaps, I would have sliced my bedding with a knife. 9. No furniture was assembled and had to request this to be done. 10. Packer ran out supplies. I packed longer hours and they used some of my materials. 11. Very little description on boxes so had to repurchase many items because I could not find them. I had 3 hallways in my home; it would have been nice to indicate which hallway that pictures, etc. came from instead of marking boxes just "hallway." 12. When I questioned the reconciliation of packing charges and didn't understand their numbers, I was told "Oh, we used an old form so the prices are higher now." These are but a few of the issues with this move. Below is a detailed summary.

We chose Allied/Olympian moving on August 26th and scheduled pick-up of our goods for 9/26. At 4:45pm on 9/25 Olympian called and left a Voice Mail (yes, a voice mail) indicating that the truck that was coming wouldn't be able to fit all of our goods and that they would send a second truck to store what couldn't fit in their warehouse until they could get another truck Two separate deliveries would mean two entire days off of work so we asked for all available options to us (ie: two separate trucks, waiting another day or two to get our own truck or pick up all of our goods for storage in the Phoenix Olympian warehouse). The morning of 9/26 a truck showed up and they started to pack our goods. At 2pm on 9/26, after the truck was loaded Allied called to inform us that our goods would be packed onto the truck and unpacked into their warehouse in Phoenix until another truck could be scheduled. There were no options presented to us and Allied essentially TOLD us what was going to happen. On Saturday 10/01 a Customer Service Rep from Allied called to advise that our goods would be loaded into a SINGLE truck on Tuesday 9/30 and delivered to us on Friday 10/3. On Thursday 10/2 I called Allied to confirm that the truck was coming the following day and the Customer Service Rep says "Ohhhhh NO, I don't even want to tell you this but I don't even see a driver assigned to your load". Several calls and email later to both Allied and Olympian Moving I find out that the truck is CURRENTLY being loaded in Phoenix. TWO days late and NO ONE CALLED US to advise. Sunday 10/5....I get a call from the driver who says they'll be arriving at our house between Noon-2pm on Monday. OH....and did "they" tell you that I wasn't able to get all of your stuff on my truck? Again....no communication whatsoever about the situation. As of 10am I have left a voice mail and sent an email asking for additional information as to where the second truck is and when it is supposed to be here. NO RESPONSE. Zero. Absolutely no communication at all. Allied is resting on the fact that they provide a "Service Delivery Guarantee" in which they give you a 7 day interval in which to expect your goods to be delivered. (Our delivery window was between 9/30 and 10/6). IF they show up today they will have met their guarantee on only HALF of my goods. At the 11th hour. Every expectation they have provided to us has failed. They've also advised that they don't give refunds or discounts. $3,700 dollars paid to Allied and the experience has been an absolute nightmare. I am FRIGHTENED to see what the shape of my goods are in once they get here after being loaded/unloaded/loaded and unloaded time and again. I have asked for help via Allied's Facebook page, made complaints, called every number I can find, provided my phone number and email address for someone to call me and have still not gotten any relief. I have moved from NY to AZ and at twice the distance it didn't take nearly as long for my goods to arrive. Do yourself a favor and rent a POD. It will save you a ton of anxiety and irritation. This company is a bunch of thieves. Krista Price

The experience has not been very good. They are not very professional. They hire day workers to do the loading, they?re not even Allied employees. They showed up looking kind of scrubby and took several smoke breaks. They broke part of my dresser and tried to blame it on my husband and I. I don?t think they were going to wrap our furniture until my husband asked them to. I'm just hoping my things get here ok.
