Mechanical Brothers Heating and Cooling

We bought a new unit less than 2 years ago. We had some issues such as short cycling shortly after and Salty came to and fixed the problem. . Since July 4th this year the AC was running conitnuously all day with the thermostat set at 77. The temps in the house was betweem 78-81. The coils on the evap coil were cool except the upper half. We called Salty and he came July 7 and added refrigerant so there was a leak somewhere. Again, 2 days ago, the ac was not shutting down and doing the same thing. We called Salty again yesterday and he sent Steve who found the leak in the evap coil, He added more refrigerant and said they will replace it but it will take a while. I highly recommend Mechanical Brothers for taking care of the issues.

Annual A/C check up and service. The job was performed and completed. I think it was done well and correctly. However I think the price was way too high.

I was contacted by Mechanical Brothers when I asked for service on Angi's. I had an issue with my AC unit (bad TXV valve) and the original service I had called was charging an outrageous amount to have it fixed. I discussed the pricing and work to be done with Salty at Mechanical Brothers and got a quote less than half of what I had been quoted. Steven came out the next morning, verified the valve was bad, and replaced it the same afternoon! He was courteous, clean, on time and very informative. And the replacement took an hour when the other service told me it would be 4-6 hours to do the job. I want to thank them all for a job well done!

I used Mechanical Brothers this past summer when my ac went out. I have an older home with an aging ac/heating unit so it wasn't much of a surprise when my heat went out earlier this month with the Temps so low and my unit working overtime to keep the house warm. Mechanical Brothers came out late Christmas Eve and fixed the problem immediately. This is the second time they have throughly impressed me with their excellent service and fast response time. It was EXCELLENT. They returned my call right away and even was able to come out right away too. Fix it quickly and it's working perfect now. So glad I found them and will definitely call and recommend them to our friends!!

The whole project went great. Had an issue with a new defective part from the distributor but they went to another distributor on the south side of Phoenix where the part was available. Even with a late start a Service Tech by the name of Stephen managed to become a one-man band and took care of the whole project by himself. He did a great job in a timely manner. Steven is a self starter who makes the name Mechanical Bros. A/C & Heating a company which should be a valuable resource when considering any repair work. They also specialize in the install of a whole new system which I personally plan to use within the next twelve months. Unfortunately the contractor who built my home used an under sized A/C unit. Wish I would have known about this company seven years ago.

I woke up at 5am with my house freezing cold. I had called mechanical brothers and they had a tech to my house at 7:30am this was the fastest service. The tech was very detailed when he explained what was happening. Great and easy experience.

You cannot trust this company, they will rip you off. I was told by Salty, the owner, my AC had leaked out all its Freon and I needed a new AC. Found out too late that my AC was completely full and I had a bad capacitor! Salty sold me what I believed was a brand new Trane, however, the unit I got did not come directly from Trane. It was a defective used or second unit and it was not even the size I ordered. The 4 ton unit was way too big for my 1200sf house and would have meant my electric bills would increase significantly. Salty, of course, told me the oversized unit would reduce my costs. The unit quit working shortly after it was installed. Mechanical Brothers would take days to respond back and only after I called repeatedly, another day to schedule a service call which was always late in the afternoon and too late to complete the repair so they would schedule for another day. Never the next morning which would have been the only responsible thing to do. They ended up having to order a legitimate new Trane, which is when I found out the original Trane I received was not new. The new 3.5 ton Trane was installed incorrectly and it took them a week to correct their poor installation which was the cause of the new AC not working. I went 20 days without a working AC in August when AZ temperatures were 116°. Update 12/22/20 This is my second review of this company since they responded to my first review with lies. My first review was on 12-09-2020 and it explains what they did and didn't do. The owner responded by saying he has tried to contact me, he paid a utility bill, and he offered me free services. HE HAS DONE NONE OF THESE THINGS. He has never tried to contract me. He has no cancelled check and he cannot show that he refunded my card any amount, he has no e-mails or texts to show. I do not have any received or missed calls listed on my phone from them for this period of time. I receive e-mails from USPS listing my mail/packages to be delivered that day which I have saved. I have not received any mail or checks from Mechanical Brothers which I can prove with these e-mails. My last contact with Mech Bros was Aug 17th. I had to hire another HVAC company on 09-14-2020 which cost me $79.

Do not use them. Tech's make commission off repair bills and the higher they are the more they make. Got ripped off for $800 by tech Matt (I think was his name). Nothing fixed, same issues and no follow up. Called company and never got a return call for complaint.

They were prompt to respond on a warm summer day. Found the problem, quoted a reasonable repair cost, and repaired the unit in about an hour.

They came out on Sunday, got it running for a while, but needed a part they could not obtain until Monday a.m. Joe explained there was no guarantee that this would be a permanent fix as the unit was so old, but I chose to try the repair. He returned as scheduled Monday a.m., installed the new motor for $535.00 and got the unit running. Cooling was great until the next weekend when it failed again. The unit was about 5 years past warranty and unable to be repaired. I had to purchase a new unit which they installed Monday a.m. for $4488.00. They were unable to to return or reuse the $535.00 motor they installed a week earlier. So total cost was approximately $6023.00. Joe was professional, explained to me everything he was doing and why. Discussed possible alternatives in solving the problems. Was courteous and punctual throughout entire episode. Although this was a huge amount of money, I did price comparisons for other units this size and they were right in line with other reputable companies. Joe explained why he could not refund $ for the first motor. I tend to be a bit suspicious of strangers, but the company's behaviors did not set off any alarm bells. I now have an efficient unit that should save money on my electric bill. I would recommend Mechanical Brothers to friends and neighbors and will use them in the future.

Mechanical Brothers did a great job at tuning and charging both of my AC units. The tech was thorough and explained how my units are functioning. There was no hassle on purchasing other services. The service provided was prompt and efficient. When I called, the receptionist was friendly and effective. She was able to answer my questions and schedule my appointment.

Mechanical brothers was the only company willing to come out the same day that my ac broke last summer. Everyone else I called was a week out if not more. They came the same day I called and fixed my unit with one hour. The service man also gave me a few tips with the unit and where to keep my thermostat.
