+ -1 moreWE HAD TO GET RID OF EVERYTHING THAT HAD LIQUID IN THEM, ALL FOOD ITEMS AND ANYTHING FLAMMABLE. WE BOUGHT A SAFE & PUT ALL OUR VALUABLES IN IT. WE DROVE FROM PHOENIX, AZ TO CHARLOTTE, NC SO WE WERE ABLE TO TAKE THAT WITH US. THE MOST HARDEST THING WE HAD TO DEAL WITH WAS FINDING A REPUTABLE MOVING COMPANY. ONE I CALLED, TOLD ME TO CALL ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY AND GET AN ESTIMATE FROM THEM AND THEN CALL THEM WITH THAT ESTIMATE AND THEN THEY WOULD ARRANGE FOR A CREW TO SHOW UP AND MOVE US. HOW DUMB IS THAT?. THE NAME OF THE MOVING COMPANY WAS "NORTHSTAR". THEY DO NOT HAVE A OFFICE IN PHOENIX,AZ THEY ARE LOCATED IN LAS VEGAS,NV. DOUG HIBBARD, CERTIFIED MOVING CONSULTANT IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, HE KEPT ALL HIS APPOINTMENTS ON TIME. COOKIE DUNCAN, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT HAS BEEN KEEPING IN TOUCH AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. OF COURSE WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT & SEE HOW THE WHOLE MOVE GOES WHEN WE GET OUR HOUSE HOLD GOODS IN NORTH CAROLINA.
Description of Work: THE $2,000 COST WAS JUST FOR PACKING THE WHOLE HOUSE & MOVING INTO STORAGE. THE COST FOR STORAGE IS $400 A MONTH. MAYFLOWER HAS A BRAND NEW 36,000 SQ FT STORAGE FACILITY IN PHOENIX,AZ. WE ARE BUILDING A NEW HOME IN NORTH CAROLINA, AFTER WE ARE READY TO MOVE IN, MAYFLOWER WILL DELIVER MY HOUSE HOLD GOODS, UNPACK & SET EVERYTHING UP AS REQUIRED. THE FINAL COST WILL BE DETERMINED WHEN OUR HOUSEHOLD GOODS ARE DELIVERED THE MAYFLOWER TEAM PACKED ALL OUR ART WORK IN VERY STABLE CRATES. THEY ALSO PACKED GLASS SHELVES IN VERY STURDY CRATING. ALL ITEMS PACKED WERE ITEMIZED BY THE FOREMAN AND EACH ITEM WAS MARKED WITH A NUMBERED STICKER. WE DID NOT HAVE TO UNPACK ANY OF THE DRESSER DRAWERS.THE 52 INCH HD TV WAS PACKED IN A VERY STURDY CARD BOARD CRATE. THE MAYFLOWER TEAM PACKED OUR WHOLE HOUSE, INCLUDING EVERYTHING UNDER THE BATHROOM SINKS. THEY EVEN PACKED LARGE AMOUNTS OF PAPER HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTS. ONE THING TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN PUTTING EVERYTHING IN STORAGE IS TO MAKE SURE YOU KEEP OUT ALL MEDICATIONS VACUUM CLEANER, FLOOR MOP BROOM, ETC. ALSO, A TELEPHONE TO USE WHEN YOU GET TO WHERE YOU ARE MOVING TO. CELL PHONES JUST DON'T CUT IT.A ALARM CLOCK.

+ -1 moreI had a bad experience with them. They stole some valuable items and broke an antique chair. The also damaged an expensive oil painting. They packed it themselves, and some how they caused the painting to separate from the frame.
Description of Work: I hired this company to move me from Ann Arbor to Arizona.
