Lyons Roofing

Hard to rate this company. We had a leak and called for estimate. We saw such great reviews on Angies List so we used this company. The first employee was great, explaining everything we needed and why. We were advised that paperwork would be submitted and we would be called within a couple days. Never heard from them so we had to call two times to get everything started. Could have been teh secretary not submitting what she needed, so we kept with the company. The workers were supposed to come the next day, but it rained (not their fault). I expected a call for another start date, but they just showed up the next week early morning. I had been advised that foreman would call me, he never did. After 3 calls and no answer, I called the GM and finally was called back by the foreman. The foreman came and looked the work over and stated that he would be back with the final contract/bill on monday (labor day) as everything looked good. I then received a call just shy of one month later from the foreman asking to come and get money and give me the contract. I asked why it took a month to finally come and get moneyand give me the final walk through and was advised that since it was a holiday on the monday. rediculous answer. The workers did a good job, however the foreman and secretaries are aweful.

My husband mainly dealt with them. We were very impressed. The little I came in contact with them they were nice. They were timely, the job was done well. My husband felt everything was fair. Very professional.

From the estimate to completion of the project, they did a great job. I will use them again when necessary!

Called and described problem. They came in a couple of days. they repair the leak in which another company have not been able to do so and they also clean the rough and checked it and it some other minor repairs. we had gotten another bed for about 800 dollars for the same amount of work so we were glad that we had taken Lyons roofing. They were prompt arrived on time did the work. They cleaned up their mess. They did a super job give just a great job and we've had a lot of rain since and no leaks.

They were good, they were just expensive. I didn't go with them. They were prompt and very polite when they came out. They did what they said they were going to do. They came out and gave a quote. I think it was actually a field guy that came whereas the other folks that I brought out here were actually the owners of the company but they were fine. They were the most expensive by far of the three that I called. They were very responsive.

Everything went well with Lyons Roofing, up until about four months ago, when they sent us collection letters, saying that we never paid them. I paid in cash, on the spot, after the work was done. I had a receipt from the individual who did the work. It seems that they were more interested in blaming us for not paying them then they were into looking whether their people were actually doing their jobs. I don't know what the status of that is. I sent the receipts, showing that it was paid. I've not heard back from them since, so I'm assuming that they've dropped the case. So, I'm not really happy with their company right now. I was out of the country at the time the collection notice came out and they really gave her hell for it, in terms of trying to get in touch with them and trying to get this rectified. It wasn't until about December, 2012 that my wife was able to find the receipt and I was able to send it. They said they would look into it. That was all I got. I felt like I was being harassed and treated like I had never paid my debts. I really did not appreciate that.

Noticed a leak on garage wall. Called Lyons Roofing and another company to get a estimate of cost. Mike Jolliffe from Lyons Roofing explained what the problem was and how to fix it. He could fix the problem the same day and the cost was less than the other estimate. He had it fixed in 15 mins. Everything is covered for 2 years. The next day we had a rain storm-1/2 inch of rain and no leak in the garage. We will call Lyons Roofing for any other roofing problems in the future.

They were very prompt and they responded to my request for a quote. They were professional and friendly.

The estimate seemed professionally done. Their estimate was on the expensive side although the guy explained responsibility and I understand that. It seemed to be ethical. He give me a price for the immediate problem and then a price if I were to have more of the roof done. They came on time.

Thorough review of existing roof situation & estimate. Similar recommendation to all other estimates. We didn't select this company because their price was so much higher than the rest.

As far as I know, they did a perfect job; probably won't know for sure for 30 years :-). Only negative I had was the salesman was sort of lazy getting a matching tile. The association rejected the tile that he said was the best possible match. Subsequently he came up with a replacement tile that was almost an exact match. There were 4 Spanish speaking guys came every day and worked in the blazing sun. They cleaned up every day, were respectful, pleasant fellows. The superintendent came by 3 or 4 times a day. He was a great guy; knew roofing inside and out. They replaced some moldy plywood sheets, replaced the tiles, a couple of hail-dented vent caps and all the work stated above. They dislodged an exhaust vent to the furnace in the attic which was discovered by the HVAC guy. (The cause was the original builder didn't attach it properly on the inside during construction - according to the HVAC guy). Anyway, Lyon's sent their guys out and the adjusted the flashing and tile around it immediately. Overall, a great experience other than the price - but that's what the other couple of companies I checked with charged (within a few hundred).

The gentleman who came out to give us a quote was punctual, knowledgeable and professional. We found the quote to be significantly higher that other quotes so chose not to use this company. My sense was that they would have done a very good job.

What a nice surprise. I choose Lyons because of their reputation. I was referred to them by multiple family members and neighbors. Quite frankly I was surprised how many folks told me about Lyons. When I called their phones were busy but they took down all the details and got back to me promptly. The young lady that called back, I think her name was Catherine was fabulous. I had lots of questions that she was able to address easily and what she didn't know- to my surprise she followed up with email links to the manufacturer's website. I think she said she was a licensed insurance agent- and was able to advise me how to interact with my insurance process. My estimator, Mike, was professional and although they were not the least expensive- he made me feel confident that there was a good reason for the price difference. He was quite the character too! Here is where it gets really surprising. I needed to have my roof done before a certain date in order to be here for the roof install. As a consequence they agreed to do the work over a weekend- and no not at an extra charge. The roof tear off was on a Wednesday, when they tore off the roof there was some bad wood, which was as expected- and actually cost me less than the estimator's guesstimate. Good news right! I think the difference in what I thought I was going to spend on wood and what I actually did spend on wood made up for the difference in price. Well that weekend it turns out was going to rain- a lot! They worked on my roof getting the wood installed and the roof waterproofed using every bit of daylight. They weren't able to work on the shingle install because of the rain- but despite the rain and their very busy emergency calls- the sales estimator called twice over the weekend to make sure things were ok with my roof and the Director of Operations called to make sure things were ok with my roof and then the project superintendent stopped by to check on the roof- he was in the neighborhood on a leak call. I have to add- I was really nervous about this roofing project. It is a very expensive investment and my experiences with construction workers leave a lot to be desired. The office staff and the field workers were all professional, friendly and clearly care about the customer experience. The clean up daily was fabulous and when they were all said and done my property was cleaner than when they started. My roof was since completed last week- on time- and it is the rival of the neighborhood. They followed up with a customer survey and was thrilled to give them rave reviews. They then asked me to go online and post a review- so here I am. They even sold me on Angie's list. As there is some paint work and awning work that needs to be done next. My only regret is that Lyons doesn't also do painting and awning work. Thank you Lyons Roofing for changing my mind as to how a construction experience can be.

My experience from the intial telephone call to the company all the way through receiving the final estimate was extremely positive. I would not hesitate to call them in the future.

They never called us ack after we left a voice message on Saturday 1/26/13. We subsequently found an alternative roofer.

After searching through Angie's list for the best roofing company's and reading the reviews, I selected three companies to bid on my roof repair. Although Lyons Roofing was not the lowest bidder, I determined that the estimate containes additional work necessary to assure a leak-free roof that was superior to the other bidders. The office staff that booked my job were very courteous and the work was done fast with excellent quality. Excellent clean-up: It looks like they were never at my home. When it comes time to replace my 20 yearold roof I'll be calling on Lyons Roofing again.

I received a prompt response to my request for a quote to remove and replace the walk deck on my back yard balcony. The pricing was not the lowest or the highest but my decision to use Lyon's was based on their Angie's List ratings and the presentation that Mike made to me on how the work would be performed. It took a few weeks to get the job scheduled, but I was impressed once the work began. The first day, the carpentry crew came in to remove the old deck and to install the plywood portion of the new deck. Some of the original joists had rotted and additional work was required. We quickly agreed on how the additional work would be done and what the additional costs would be. The carpentry crew had brought a supply trailer which had all the necessary lumber for the planned and the additional work, so there was no delay in completing the carpentry work. That day they left the job site in cleaner condition than they found it. The next day, the deck crew came in begin the application of the flashings and deck coatings. The multi-layer deck system required 5 partial days to apply and cure. Just like the carpentry crew, the deck group continually cleaned up around the work area. At the end of each day, the tools and materials were neatly stored. After the final coating was applied, I was asked if I had any touch up paint so that he could repaint some of the stucco wall that had been scuffed during the installation. Again, the area was cleaned up perfectly. All the workers were punctual, professional and polite. The craftmanship was excellent. I am pleased with the experience and the high quality product. I highly recommend Lyon's Roofing.

It went very well overall. I'd recommend Lyon's as a good company for roofing. They are thorough, the contract is detailed and they stick to the promised schedule. The quality of the workmanship is excellent.

overall I am very happy with the service, It was a small job and reasonably priced. they arrived on appointed date early and finished within a reasonable time. This is the third house I have used them for jobs and have been satisfied with extent of work price and speed from estimate to completion. When you need a roof done you don't want to wait and they were quick getting the job done. I found them onRosies on the house web site as a recommended contractor. before looking them up on angie's list. Very happy and will use them again if needed.

Went very well overall. Two workers showed up on time . They explained what they were going to do and how long they thought that it would take. They uncovered the tiles, they repaired the roof and removed the considerable bird debris that had built up and had most likely led to the roof's leak. I wish there was more to this story, but it was pretty straightforward and I don't know that much about roof repair. They did a good job.

They provided a great warranty and showed up for work on time. They performed the work as expected and cleaned up every day. This company also followed up to inspect the work that was performed to make sure that everything was okay before I paid; which was great.

The roofer that came out to our home was professional, courteous, and honest. All traits that are appreciated when relying on someone else to tell you what's wrong (or not wrong) with something you can't see for yourself.
