LANZA AV HOME THEATER AND SECURITY

Our experience with Lanza AV was not good. We were looking for a video doorbell unit and their former employee, AJ, suggested a particular system that had an unlocking door feature. We looked at the unit online beforehand and it clearly showed this feature on the panel so we agreed and paid over $2300. The day of installation, we were being shown how to use the newly installed system and when we went to push the unlock feature button on the panel,we were told that feature was NOT included in the price after all. If we wanted to add it, we would have spend more money and schedule another installation. AFTER our walls had been cut and the unit had been installed. We were frustrated, but decided to live without that feature and let it go. Since that time, the unit has malfunctioned three times and still not working properly. The unit is obviously poor quality so we told Lanza we were unhappy with their product and asked to return it for a partial refund. We were told by Scott that our only options were to repair the unit again, but that we would have to pay the labor costs or anything not covered under warranty OR upgrade to a better system for an additional $800. In other words, spend more time and money on a non-working, sub par system.

Horrible. I will never use Lanza or AJ (the sales representative from Lanza) again. Some of the worst customer service once they get paid. All of the reviews on Yelp have to be friends and family of Lanza because there is no way they can obtain such a high rating. Once all of my high end equipment was installed nothing was working in unison or consistently. I contacted owner and AJ with no avail. All I wanted was for Lanza to refund me my money I spent on hardware and pick all of their provided equipment. I was willing to pay for labor so the technicians did not get the raw end of the bargain.

We wanted a TV mounted on our back patio so we could enjoy the beautiful weather and spend more time outside. Lanza was amazing. They came by the house quickly to give me an estimate. We received the estimate within a few days. It was a great price for all the work that I was requesting. They did a fantastic job hiding all of the wires inside the stucco and concrete on my back patio (not an easy thing to do, for sure). It made the job look extremely professional and classy. They also mounted my TV in the corner of my back patio on a mount that allows me to push it up flush with the ceiling so that it is out of the way when we're not watching it (and keeps it protected from the weather). They also programmed the remote control and made sure everything was working perfectly before leaving. All in all, they were great. They gave me options on the type/quality/price of products they offered and helped me pick what was best for me. Then they installed it seamlessly. I used Lanza about a year ago to do my living room TV and surround sound system as well. It's simply amazing. I have theater quality sound in my home, with a high quality appearance. They were happy to do something custom and unique in our living room, and we love it. Scott, the owner, is a geniune pleasure to work with as well. I will definitely be using them for any future needs.

I hired Lanza for a security system which was a big mistake. It took excessive amounts of time on multiple occasions and they still couldn't get the job done. I had to hire a professional to adequately complete the job. Lanza is extremely incompetent and overpriced. They even charged me three times as much for the exact alarm system that I could have purchased off of amazon for a third of the price. They tried to charge me $900 for the exact alarm system that could be purchased for $325.

It took a surprising amount of work to find a home theater company that seemed reputable, would perform all the work I was looking for (surprisingly, a few only dealt with speaker wiring, home networking as well) and would actually return my calls/messages. I found Lanza through a general web search and liked what I saw so I had them stop by for an estimate. Their salesperson, Scott, was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I knew already basically what I wanted and he did a great job explaining some practical difficulties and suggesting sound alternatives. Unlike some other sales people I've dealt with he was respectful of my thoughts and didn't try to push any expensive new equipment or additions. Once I decided to pull the trigger, it took about a week to schedule an appointment - apparently Lanza runs a fairly busy shop so don't expect a 1-2 day turnaround from when you call to when work can be done. This wasn't an issue for me however. On the day of the appointment, two gentlemen came over to complete the job. It took a looong time, basically 9 hours start to finish, which was longer than what I, or they for that matter, were expecting. That said, everything got done and got done right. Speakers were installed, properly wired and securely mounted. The ethernet ports and speak wallplate look like they were preinstalled when the house was built. One small deduction on quality - they forgot to patch one hole in the wall where the cable coaxial had previously entered the house! Some caulk on my part created a temporary fix and I'm sure they would come out to correct this issue if asked (I have not as yet). All other cuts into the walls were neatly patched over however. Overall I'm very happy with the work and will definitely be consulting with this company again as I continue to upgrade the electronics around my house.
