I can't recommend John highly enough.
Description of Work: John is superior in design. He thinks out of the box and finds the most elegant, cheapest solution. He has performed a number of jobs for us over 4 years. He was highly recommended by a neighbor up the next block who eagerly showed me all he had done for her. She said, she could visualize something, explain it to him and he would do it better than she imagined. Her front door was handmade and embellished with hammered copper. He remodeled her kitchen. She said one of the best things about John is she could stage projects and expenses and he would accommodate. She did not exaggerate. We had flooding in the basement and he designed a drainage plan including a cistern that can hold 400 gallons of water. He re-did the framing and rafters of the carport. A block bathroom addition built in the 1950's separated from the house. I really don't know what he did but the room looks normal and the outside bricks are repointed. He identified part of the problem as plumbing drainage issues that he identified when he snaked our bathrooms from the roof. He ended up replacing the pipes in our bathroom to the cast iron sewage line because the connection had been built out of greenberg pipe (tar covered cardboard from around WW2). This had the potential of being a nightmare but he took care of all aspects of the job while we were away on vacation. He currently designed and submitted plans through historic preservation and development services for a utility storage building in our historic area backyard. The design is gorgeous and it will vastly improve the quality of our lives living in a smaller home. He is supervising all aspects of the construction while he is building custom cherry kitchen cabinetry for my husband's gourmet kitchen. I could go on.
