After purchasing the deal on Angie's list, we contacted the company to schedule our AC maintenance. They were prompt and very professional. They were able to make it out in a timely manner. He gave us a thorough review of our units, gave us great recommendations, and make the needed repairs quickly. We were very happy with the service and would use again!

It simply was the best A/C service experience we have ever had. We have just bought the house and needed to check and service both 2 A/C units before moving in. It was F 112 in Phoenix that time. We called Howard Air and explained the situation. They were very polite and explained what needed to be done and offered to come over like tomorrow, because this was not an emergency. The technician called me just few minutes before appointment time and then rung my doorbell exactly on time.. He was very courteous and first explained what he will do. He needed to go the attic in order to check and test the A/C equipment there. It must have been a cruel task because the attic was like a hot sauna. But he did everything by the book and even hosed and cleaned the units located outside. Before leaving he did the paperwork, no extra fees or parts, gave some good advices and left his card. It was very professional visit, no shortcuts but a throughout service as it should be. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Comprehensive check and service for 2 A/C units, because the house has been empty nearly half a year.

The service technician showed up on time, was polite and very knowledgable. He replaced the air filter, checked all of the levels at the unit, in the attic and at the air handler, cleaned everything out and everything is working great now. Very reasonable for the cost. Will definitely use them again for annual maintenance and future service.

Howard is a very impressive company. I spoke with a sales/scheduling rep yesterday and the team of two technicians showed up on time this morning. They spent about 5 hours here cleaning, checking, and rodent proofing the systems. Mike, who led the team, was most professional. I've had many service companies in the past and these people were by far the most thorough.
Description of Work: I have 3 Trane heat pumps in my newly purchased home and wanted the systems checked out and to sign up for an annual maintenance program.

Showed up on time to do AC inspection and tune up on a recently purchased mobil home. Very professional and helpful, when we asked about a mystery hook up he investigated and removed an abondonded furnace blower. He was extremely helpful and well worth the service call. Howard air is our new "AC" Guy.

The technician was here right at 8 am when he said he would be and did a really terrific job. The owner (Kevin) even called me later in the day to check in to make sure everything went well.

Came out and inspected unit, took photos and sat down and diagramed everything for me, showed me photos and discussed options. Two young men came out and complete job and then Forrest came back to inspect work. A/C wasn't cooling and I called and they came right back and fixed that problem and it has worked fine since.

But, the unfortunate reality is that there are approximately 2,600 HVAC contractors out there and approximately 2,600 levels of installation standards. This really educates other Angie's List members of the fact that anybody can sell them a new system but the most IMPORTANT part of that investment is WHO installs it. The gentleman arrived a bit early and looked at the entire system. He seemed to do a thorough job inspecting everything inside and out and cleaning the vent for us. It was pointed out some of the poor work the roofing company did around our a/c unit and they fixed for us. Then he presented the issues with the a/c unit with a few solutions. Howard Air has a program that includes servicing and covered the issues we were having. I went for the service program knowing that I might forget to have the winter maintanence done but it was still the best deal. The a/c was fixed and working great. I was pleasantly suprised when Howard Air called me to come do the free check-up. At that time they found a part that needed to be replaced and again was covered under the agreement. Great service and Great value.and covered in the service agreement
Description of Work: We bought a service agreement that covered parts and future maintence. He performed a standard cool maintenance that day and returned to complete the indoor coil clean and p-trap. This was all covered by the service agreement.

Overall it was an awesome experience. We had never used Howard Air before but they were on-time, thoroughly explained everything on the A/C unit, took the time to walk me through things I could do to get it running smoothly and the price was superb with the coupon. I would definitely recommend!

I contacted Howard Air simply because they were the top rated Heating and Air company on Angie's List. (Thanks to Angie's List for highlighting the company I almost went with who had an overall C rating and was kicked off the BBB!). Brian came to my home promptly at the time we agreed. He was very professional and personable. Contrary to the other two companies I contacted. Brian pointed out the need to replace my GreyFlex duct work, which had become seriously damaged by 22 years in the hot attic. I got the sense that Brian would have turned down the job, rather than sell me a new system without replacing the duct work, and end up being totally dissatisfied. I told Brian we needed a day or two to consider, and although he wanted to close the deal that day, he did not pressure me at all. Brian returned two days later and did a complete video survey of the job and took all the measurements. He asked for 30% down and we scheduled the job. The two installers came as promised at the time and date we agreed. I must also point out that every time someone came, they gave me a courtesy call 1/2 hour before arriving. This was very appreciated! It took two full days to install the system. They showed me how to operate the system and performed a checklist to ensure everything was covered. A drywall contractor was needed to fix the area around my enlarged return vent and he came the next day. I asked Brian if I could wait until that work was complete before I paid the final balance and Brian said no problem. Overall this was a great experience. I appreciated that Brian explained what I needed to hear, rather than what I wanted to hear.

The sale was made by Brian. He was very knowledgeable about the product and installation. There were two other bids collected before signing on with Howard. The price was comparable however the a/c unit was a name that I recognized as being of good reputation. The job was promised to be completed in a single day. The workers, Jack and Paul, showed up early to begin the job. They were very skilled in adapting the new unit to the house. This included installing a dedicated electrical connection to the breaker box. Their supervisor, Denny, showed up periodically to check up on the job and to answer any questions presented. All three were very personable. I inspected the job both on the roof and within the house as it progressed. I have total confidence that it was installed properly. This job lasted until dusk and there were no short cuts made due to the late hour. The installation site is a rental property that I own and I intend to give preference to Howard Air when the aging a/c unit in my residence gives up the ghost.
Description of Work: This job entailed the removal of the existing a/c roof top unit and gas heater to be replaced by a rooftop heat pump. The new unit is a 4 ton Carrier. All duct work and modifications were included.

I didn't pay complete attention though I must take it on faith that he did everything he seemed to be doing as he should. Only time will tell. He took about 1 and 1/2 hrs. to do everything.
Description of Work: He checked out and cleaned, where necessary, our two a/c units and cleaned our two furnaces. He changed filters and did everything that seemed necessary to have each ready for the next season.

The guy that worked with me took calls late at night. He accommodated me as I live in the Eastern Time zone. They honored an Angie’s List discount. They installed the unit right away for my daughter and granddaughter. It was extremely hot in Arizona at that time.

Description of Work: Needed 2 a.c. units, one 3 ton and one two and a half ton plus the 10 year full warranty was $1,000 which totaled around $11,000. A rebate of $540.00 for the 2 units was just sent to me by APS. Howard took care of all the paperwork.
