Howard Air

I scheduled an appointment a few weeks ago for spring maintenance. The appointment was for last week. They said they'd call 30 minutes before they arrived so we would be ready for them. I gave them two phone numbers, neither phone number received a call or voicemail. They showed up, rang the doorbell, then left without any phone calls. My girlfriend was upstairs sleeping because she works nights and had her phone right next to her so she would wake up. She slept through the doorbell so they left. After that they said the next available appointment is in June which is way too late for Arizona weather. And now I hear that one of our AC units is starting to blow hot air. Guess who I WON'T be calling to come fix it. Thanks guys!

The only problem encountered was the replacement of the air handler indoors behind a closet door. Because it is a newer unit, it is also a stronger unit (?) which translates to air being sucked through the slats of the closet door at a higher rate; providing a sound of air blowing through a creaky mansion. They've dialed the blower motor down from high to medium, but the sound is still noticeable when the unit starts. We may have to shave off the top or bottom of the door, or place a grill in the wall. They are still working with me at this point.

First checkup call 6 months after having them install two new systems. They were early, courteous, and professional. I feel very good about hiring Howard Air

My experience with Howard Air in every aspect from sales, install, and service has been exceptional. I had a bad prior experience with a different AC company that came our for a service call and they didn't even go up on the roof to look at the system. Instead, I caught the technician rubbing brake dust from the wheel of his van tire to give the appearance that he got dirty working on my unit. So needless to say, I have a low trust factor in AC service technicians. The experience with Howard Air has restored my faith in AC companies. The service Tech, Troy has been EXCEPTIONAL. He earned my trust right away. I have full confidence that Troy will always do the right thing for my unit and he does not take short cuts - he is very thorough in his job and performs a full review / test service on my unit. He is very knowledgeable on my system and my thermostat. The sales process was exceptional The installation process was exceptional Working with the office staff is exceptional and the service from the field tech, Troy, has been exceptional. Replacing a whole unit ceiling fan can sometimes be very difficult especially when you have to remove the housing. This was the case for my bathroom exhaust ceiling fan but Diego stepped up to the plate and did a terrific job he had to get into the attic to complete the job and it was more difficult than anticipated but Diego did a wonderful job. I will request Diego again when I need more work from Howard Air. I have used Howard air in the past and I’ve always been happy with their service .

Good. David inspected the motors and electrical components and cycled system on and off and found to be operating normal.

Awesome, we we're worried they would do the same as the last company and not take the time to figure out the problem. However we we're pleasantly surprised as the tech spent 20-30 minutes trying to see if anything was wrong and found the problem. There was a missing piece in one of the lines and he had to drain the system and refill. It has been about 6 months and all is working well. We we're so impressed with the company we signed up for the yearly/ 6 month checks with them. They were just here and serviced our furnace. Was a different technicians but just as knowledgeable and professional as the last one. Promptly returns phone call also. Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for a great service team.

OK, but the cost of a used compressor surpassed the replacement cost of a new unit.

Never a 'good time' when your AC goes out! Ultimately, we made a few comparisons and decided to go with Howard Air for the replacement and new model. The explanation of the more expensive 2-stage unit made sense and it was proposed to us in a way where we justified the price. Again, never fun to part with that kind of money - but we feel we'll have good, long-term service with a unit that should last for many years to come.

We hired Howard Air in July to replace our old AC system in our 1938 home. They were fabulous: timely, responsive, competitive. Our house is old and the air handler/furnace are in a small basement and the duct work is essentially in the floor. Once the install got underway it became apparent that the existing duct work would need more replacing than previously thought. Kevin, the owner, came out personally the first day of the install and ordered that the duct work be custom done (not the flex kind) in their shop. The install was completed the next day and it's very professionally done, the house is much cooler than before and everything is easy to reach and will be easy to maintain going forward. The guys that did the installation were great too- worked two long days and cleaned up after they were done.

Great! The technician checked the unit and found a loose belt on the blower motor. A very easy fix and the unit works again. The service was great. They were there at the time they said they would be. They were honest, reliable and have fantastic integrity. They do live up to what they have on their website . I would definitely recommend them!

I especially appreciate the punctuality, professionalism, and knowledge they bring to the job. Also i Like how they have gone paperless by using email for letting me know when they are arriving and for final sign off on the job.

Been using Howard Air now for some three years. The thoroughness of their technicians is something to be noted. On the last call on 11/06/17, the technician, Erik, spent over two hours going over the heat pump and all that for 99 bucks. His friendly, helpful attitude was most also most noteworthy. Good man, indeed. I must emphasize that it isn't the most reasonable price that makes Howard Air so outstanding, it is their excellent service. No Howard Air tech, ever tried to sell me something that was not needed. I wish that I could say that for another major, Valley company.

Very well. Technician arrived as quickly as possible. Once he found the issue, he ran out and got the required part, and returned within an hour. Back running, thank goodness, as I have company coming in town tonight for the weekend, and was looking at having to move everyone to hotels.

Service people were great to work with.

I was scheduled for 7 -12 noon. At around 11:30 I called and was told he was still on first job and I would be next. Around 1pm a tech showed up and said he had been going to places non-stop. He had to call the office and verify my coupon was valid. Then what I specifically wanted done, would be another $347 per unit. He did the tune-ups and found a problem costing me $325 more. Over a month later, I noticed when walking outside, that a light was shining through the rafters. He had left the light on. I contacted the company to left them know about the light (hopefully they can remind their techs) and never heard back. Also, my electric bill after the tune-up was $60 higher than before (given same days in month and same average temperature). I'm not sure what he did that helped with efficiency.

It's part of the routine maintenance for the unit. At this point, it's an annual fee. They've been top notch. They always have been. If they make an appointment, they're there on time. Because it's tenant occupied, they always gave a pre-call so I could meet them at the property so I wasn't just hanging out waiting on them. I've been very, very happy with their customer service and what they've done with everything I've never had to have anything repaired, so I can't really speak to that kind of response, but as far as normal maintenance and making sure it's within spec and everything, I have nothing to complain about. If I have need to use them again, I certainly would.
