Sales, Service and Installation were excellent. The installation took an entire day and the room that houses the furnace looks like a showroom, completely rebuilt with sheet metal and they even sent someone over to finish the drywall. They called today to come out for a winter inspection which is included in the original price.

I asked for an estimate on a new evap cooler. After meeting with them and learning about the improved performance and longevity of heat pumps, I opted not to purchase an evap cooler but will replace my heat pump in the near future with a newer, more efficient one. I really liked that I wasn't pressured or talked down to. I will definitely call Howard Air when I am ready to get a new heat pump.

Brian, the estimator, was very personable and helpful. The installers were professional. They had to make the attic opening larger to do the work and when they finished it looked as good as new. One problem that came up was the new air conditioning unit was bigger than the old one and I could see a little bit of it from the bedroom window. Without question, when I pointed it out, they laid a new pad and moved the unit over. I was very happy with the company and the people involved in my job. The only suggestion I would make is that as a customer I kind of expected to have received a call shortly after the work was completed from someone in the company asking if all had gone well. I did get a thank you note for my business later on.
Description of Work: Removed my old air conditioner and put in a 16 seer Carrier air and heat system. Extended the outside pad for the new air conditioner.

You allowed us to show first hand what "prevention" means in preventative maintenance. By discovery your condensation line was clogged it allowed us the opportunity to explain the importance of a condensate safety switch (which is standard on every new install we perform). Once your condensate line is clogged it usually has a secondary line that may or may not be of some assistance getting the water out of your home. Unfortunately, you can guess what the last option is for the water; spilling onto your ceiling/insulation is right. This safety switch is designed to shut your system off in case of emergency to prevent costly ceiling damage. Thank you again for believing in preventative maintenance and choosing Howard Air. They had to reschedule, but were accommodating to my schedule. They showed up on time, the technician Tyler was very polite and clean, and quiet. He got the job done and was out in a reasonable time. I had no mechanical issues and the Freon was at levels so no real work was done. I gave a B for Quality because he did not check the air filter which needed to be replaced.

Called them about 2-weeks ago and John, the person I spoke with on the phone was very courteous and pleasant to talk with. Originally scheduled the maintenance for the PM but 2 days prior something came up that I had to call them up to see if I could change the time during the AM instead. Sheryl, the staff member I spoke with, equally pleasant , found an AM slot, at 8 in the morning. At 7:35 or so this morning, got a call from Bryan, the Tech person who was assigned to do the maintenance and said he'll be at my house shortly. Before 8, there he was in front of my house. Bryan,introduced himself (an engaging man, I'd say) and directed him to where the thermostat was located, changed the battery and showed me how it was done, then got up on the roof. After spending quite some time up there, came back down and explained his findings and did it in a layman's term thoroughly. He does impressed me as one who is really skilled and understand his craft. I have Howard's Air serviced our AC/Heat unit in the past and like then and today's , I'm so happy with their work and I will always call upon them in the future for any work in this regard. Oh, as an aside, Bryan is not only a very skilled , a true Professional in his line of work but blessed with a strikingly beautiful, rich tonal quality in his voice. Talked a little bit about his love of singing especially Manilow's and Diamond's-among my favorites as well. I say go for "The Voice" Bryan. Have you heard of Susan Boyle (of BGT talent show)? Look her up when you get the chance. We'll be rooting for you.:) Well, it was really nice meeting him and hope to have him again for any future service call. May you all have a great weekend.

If a business does not want your business then they should just say so up front. There is no need to promise to return calls if that is not your intention.
Description of Work: Called provider to get a quote on a heating project they said they would call back with a price and never responded. I called a second time and was told the individual responsible would call back and I am still waiting.

They were very professional and did a great job, they did the service as agreed and did have to add Freon into the system which I expected as the system was not working at it's peek. I would recommend them and as a matter of fact I set up a service contract with them for the next year.

Purchased special deal $79 Maintenance Package. I was honest when calling and said air was still working but running constantly and having hard time cooling house during the day. I did not expect an emergency response and so I scheduled someone out a week after my phone call. They were to arrive on Monday and when I didn't receive a confirmation call the Friday before, I called the same day scheduled to see if I was still on their schedule. I was told yes that someone would arrive before 4:00 (even though when making the appointment I was told I would be given a better time frame on Monday)...so I was left with a 6 hour window. At 4:00, I had to call back because no one showed and no one called to update! I was pretty upset because I had now spent an entire day waiting for service and had not been contacted once by the company. I was told that the tech. was on his last call before me and he'd be at my house around 5:00. I could go on forever, but needless to say I was at their mercy having taken a day off work and had to wait another hour. Random Monsoon storm hit and the Tech. arrived at 5:00 to let me know he couldn't do any work because of the wet conditions. I was eventually given a Saturday morning date and was taken care of. I learned a valuable lesson though, DO NOT let them know your air is running sufficiently to require non-emergency work because I realized that I was pushed back throughout the day in order to take care of more lucrative/emergency orders. I waited one week and should've been given the courtesy of a specific appt. time and should've been treated as any other customer. On the positive side, the 2 Technicians that came out were very nice and put up with my frustration in a very professional manner.

Excellent service. They diagnosed the problem and told us the problem was a part we didn't need if we weren't using the unit for heating. This saved us money and they had the ac up and running in an hour,

Brian changed the main power contact assy, fan motor capacitor, several wire connectors, added freon, installed a drain tee, cleaned unit and tested the a/c units performance. The unit was up and running in no time and has performed perfect since.
Description of Work: complete inspection of heat pump and airhandler was performed by Brian. He was very fast and had a work order of what needed to be done in no time. Everything was explained completely and all parts needing replaced were verified by sight and multimeter readings to my complete satisfaction.

Out of all the service calls I?ve ever had I?ve never seen such a thorough walk through of the house (inside/outside/attic) and of the AC/Heat Pump unit. Scott was incredibly professional and informative. I told Scott that the front part of the house (L.R., D.R., and Kitchen) has always been warm and never gets cool like the rest of the house. First, he informed me that the unit I had was a 2.5 ton and should have been a 3 ton. Second, when the original unit was installed they didn?t use the right venting duct (I had an up and down and they put in a side to side. I hope I?m explaining this correctly), so I wasn?t getting the full air coming out of the A/C. He told me all about Howard Air and the company's engineering background--how they have engineers on staff to make sure every aspect of the install (AC/heat pump unit size, ductwork) is correct for each individual home. He took laser measurements of the home, did a full walk through, and prepared an estimate. The pricing was fair and I told him that I was going to go with Howard Air (I had already received one quote), but I had another company coming a few hours later. The third company came out and didn't measure the home or the windows but did a visual estimate of the window size and asked me the square footage of the home. He quoted 5 different units varying from $5K and up and wrote them out on a lined piece of paper. Where Scott was there for two hours this guy was out in ½ hour. Installation was the next day and the Technicians were the most professional, on time workers I've ever been around. They went through the multi-stepped process for the install, used shoe covers when they entered my home, and were respectful of my property. It was a joy to work with them. Scott arrived and stayed for about two hours to make sure everything was going to plan. The crane company was on time and before I knew it the old unit was down and the new one was up. The Technicians completed the installation and then went over a final checklist with me, done. Wow, so in just 3 hours and 15 minutes from when the Tech?s arrived, my unit was running, so smooth. I had a lot of other things that happened this particular week but the least stressful of all of them was getting a new AC/Heat Pump installed by Howard Air. Overall, I was incredibly pleased with Howard Air and their staff. I will be most definitely using them for all my AC/Heating needs. I absolutely recommend this company and Scott's services to anyone who needs AC/Heating help which I?ve already been doing since the install. Thanks again Howard Air.
