I am very happy with the service. Technician answered all my questions. This was a second fall/maintenance performed. The first company found a laundry list of issues and recommended I replace my heat pump "right away" as it would not last thru the summer. Howard Air tech felt the unit had issues associated with age (10 years) but would work fine for several more years. He also went over some of the items the previous contractor had pointed out to me and why they weren't critical items. Even if the unit dies this summer, I would still use Howard Air over the previous contractor.

Although the service man seemed to provide an evaluation of our Air Conditioning unit, it was much more of a sales pitch for their maintenance contract options. We were contacted almost everyday to purchase the maintenance contract. Seemed too high pressure and less about our particular needs.

Member, we are sorry you interpreted our attempts to schedule your maintenance visit that you requested us to proceed with on 5/15/13 as "high pressure sales". In our initial visit we discovered several areas of concern that were included in our O89 maintenance plan, which you determined would be the best option in handling these concerns. Although, this was not approved at the time of visit so a second visit was needed to perform the O89 maintenance. Again, we never pressure sales of any sort as you can read in almost 500 reviews from other members. This is why we pay our technicians hourly with flat rates and not on commission to prevent personal intentions. We only called on more than one occasion because we failed to reach you on several attempts. We are confident that customers want their heating and cooling company to follow up on promises of a call back for scheduling. We truly hope to serve you again in the future and have another opportunity to demonstrate our customer service. Again we apologize for not earning a better rating from your experience.

Very professional serviceman,Juilio,arrived on time .Clean,courteous and knowledgeable.Did not have repair parts but was able to order,price and install within a week.I have come to expect add-on so the the work beyond the routine service was not a surprise.The house was not well maintained by previous owners and the additional work was needed.I was told of the problems up front and correction cost.No sales pressure was applied.

I ended up buying new units. I am very impressed with Howard Air and would recommend them to my friends and family. Very thorough. They took pictures of all the vents in the attic to show me what they would do differently. A great experience so far.

I called them several times over a 7 day period along with emails in an attempt to have someone give me an estimate on having some HVAC work done. The persons I spoke with said I would receive a phone call that afternoon. Not one returned phone call nor reply to my emails. Apparently Howard Air has doesn't need any additional work.

Suggested purchasing two condensation safety switches. Unfortunately on 10/22/13 one of the units went out. Fortunately, a technician was sent out and found that one of the condenser fan motor bearings had failed. The technician replace the failed part at a discounted price of $455.61. The units have been working fine.

The representative was very nice, professional and appeared to know what he was doing. They tuned up my AC during the summer and it works fine with the cold air, but when it became cold and I turned on my heater, the AC begin to leak off my roof and still leaks. This was disappointing!. By the way, I am not sure of the date. And, I would use them again if they come and see why my AC/heater is leaking.
Description of Work: AC tune-up and told me that I needed a part which I was skeptical, but had him change anyway. Just not sure when they are trying to just make an extra dollar.

Service was very prompt, they checked the filters and the cooling temperature went on the roof and cleaned and serviced the unit. I called them back in August of 2013 to repair the AC and they were here the same day and had cool air flowing shortly at a reasonable price.

I was very pleased with the quality of work and professionalism, I will be using Howard Air again in the future.
Description of Work: I bought the big deal for a Summer A/C Inspection, Cleaning,& Tune-Up. The technician arrived on time and immediately got to work, he was friendly and knowledgeable (I believe his name was David). I asked him questions about changing the filters and what type of filters were best for dust control his answers were helpful and insightful.

Heating system checkup (on 2 units). Company called to tell me svc man would be late and set new time approximately 2 hrs later than the latest previously agreed to time of Noon. Svc man later called and changed eta by about another hour. Svc man arrived even later than final eta. Svc man was very knowledgeable and professional and performed all svcs promised. Also, it was NOT CLEAR that the price they advertised was for (1) unit only (the vendor DID point me to the fine print where it did state that the price was for a single unit).

He arrived promptly after giving me notice that he would be arriving within half an hour. He covered his shoes with booties to protect floors. He quickly went to work in the attic after getting a lay out of the system. He answered my questions with good explanations and offered additional information as needed.

We got this company through Big Deals. Very happy with the whole process - scheduling, call backs, etc. David, the technician, arrived on time, looked and acted professionally. He spent several hours working diligently on our heating system and provided information to my husband regarding areas of concern and/or follow up. I felt confident that we were in good hands and plan to work with this company on an annual contract basis. Would highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Checked out the heating system to prep it for winter. And corrected some code violations and safety concerns.

They worked with my home warranty company and helped processes the paperwork for me! They saved me a lot of hassle & money. Thanks Howard Air, your are the best!
Description of Work: Howard Air did wonderful work. They had no surprises and even gave me 20% off my A/C rebuild after I purchased their 2year maintenance plan. The money I saved with the 20% off paid for the plan. So, now my A/C is covered if it breaks down again. Howard Air had the parts in hand two days after my A/c broke down.

It went well except the unit was very old and not worth repairing. He sent out a sales person who was exceptionally professional and helpful. I decided not to go with them because they were more expensive than my second bid for essentially the same unit and work (more than $1500 less).
Description of Work: Called for service on a unit that was in a vacant house I inherited with a Big Deal. The service rep checked it out and determined it was too old to try to fix and should be replaced.

The man who came out did fine. He was good. He was here on time and was very courteous. He also answered my questions. We signed a contract with them for the maintenance of the air condition unit and the heater. He was also very knowledgeable. I would definitely refer them.

I originally bought this unit from Howard Air in 2007. I have been very happy with the Trane unit and Howard Air's responsiveness and professionalism. They communicate very well - they are usually on time but if running late will call to let you know. They have kept my unit running in top form. I will continue to use Howard Air in the future and they are excellent at what they do. I have never had any hint of anything negative from this company and this is why they will continue to have my service.

The service man arrived promptly and did a thorough inspection of the air conditioning system. He could have said that he found a lot of things wrong, but he didn't take advantage of us. The AC did need a gallon of coolant but he showed us why it was needed and how it made the AC run cooler. He was professional in every way and very knowledgeable. We definitely recommend Howard Air to anyone looking for a reputable AC service company.

First tech replaced parts & spliced in new exposed roof thermostat wire in poor condition $92! Tech suggested replacing numerous other parts asap as well. Total cost of parts actually replaced & service fee $488. Repair work & parts did not fix problem .Another tech was sent to resolve problem. Cost additional $321 (no additional service fee) & more parts. This time problem was resolved. I complained about paying for unnecessary parts that were not part of the problem since it was resolved the second time with different parts that were the real cause of problem.Complained about paying for & subsidizing misdiagnosis & guesswork & I was given a refund for the unnecessary parts $340. If all this work was done at the same time I wouldn't know I paid for unneeded parts & would be out $340. Previous repair at another location went very well.
Description of Work: Repaired intermittent duct blower shut down.A/C was on & working but no air was coming out of ducts.
