The Deal I purchased was then confirmed and I received a phone call on 3/17 to schedule the service. I scheduled the service for 12:00 pm on March 27th and I was told that the serviceman would phone me when he was on his way... and he did! For me, punctuality shows responsibility and Joel arrived right on time! He performed the service in a timely & thorough manner, all the while asking if I had any questions... and when I did, he was able to answer them. Joel was congenial, professional and had a great sense of humor! Overall, a great experience and I will definitely use Howard Air in the future!

The experience was good. There were no additional charges. The did an inspection and confirmed that my heater was in working order, and that was good. They did an excellent job. They went out of their way to find out if I had a home warranty, and incorporated that, and they offered a follow up assistance at no charge. They kept track and records of the system I have in my home, so that if I called them again, they could provide parts and that kind of thing.

I had three different quotes on the replacement unit, Howard Air was not the least expensive. Scott took the time to provide a detailed study of my home, inclusive of number of windows, size of windows, measured the actual square footage and took into account architectural bump outs in the home that were convection heat sinks of interior walls. That being said, he replaced a 3.5 ton unit with a 3 ton unit. It did require additional insulation, but the long term total cost of ownership will offset my initial upfront costs within 3 years. The other two companies just wanted the quick sell of replacing the existing unit with a 3.5 ton unit. The installation team of JL and Terrence were great and had the job done in a little more than 6 hours. They performed everything that they said they would.

Mike D. did an amazing job. He not only did the tune-up, but took the time to thoroughly clean the ENTIRE AC inside and out. Absolutely amazing job. So good, I bought another deal for a friend of mine. Details below... Diagnostic Found broken and melted disconnect. Replaced as needed as per clients request. Blower motor run capacitor out of tolerance. Rusted secondary drain pan due to blockage in condensate line. Performed a standard 44 point peak performance service. Tested all electrical controls, capacitors, connections and cleaned. Started system, monitored operating voltage, blower motor and fan motor performance. Evaluated refrigerant levels, pressures and temperatures. Washed outdoor section and checked condensate drain line. System operating normal at this time. Flushed primary condensate line and checked outside for water. Line is clear. Replaced badly melted disconnect.

It was excellent. They are great. We have a contract with them that includes 2 services a year so I don't have to worry about it. They are very professional and easy to work with. I had a problem a few years ago and called them while I was out of town. The neighbors let them in and I didn't have to worry about them being in there without me. Our ten year warranty expired last winter and he noticed that it was coming up. He offered to replace some worn parts prior to it expiring so we didn't run into problems in the future. They also found a problem with my garbage disposal and fixed it while they were there.
Description of Work: He came out in November to do a general check up on the air conditioning unit to make sure it was in good working service. I think the charge is around $80 annually. The $80 charge includes 2 service check ups a year.

I coulddn't have been happier. The previous company I had used was not good in customer service. I will continue to use Howard Air in the future. I saw two different technicians and both were excellent.

First class work as Dave who did the work was very professional and not only did I like the work done he kept me appraised of each item he was doing and a very nice touch was wearing dust covers for his boots to keep the house clean. Not all service teams do this.

We had a little disagreement over the price. We have two condensers, one for each side of the house. The "deal" we purchased implied that the house was covered, but when the technician arrived, he said that the deal covered only one system. I protested, and there was some discussion with the head office, but in the end, the company agreed to do both for the price of the deal. They agreed that the language in the "deal" was not clear. The work was then done, and we are satisfied.

The tenant at my rental house called to let me know that the furnace seemed to have a gas smell and that it was not lit. So, she turned off the gas. I immediately called Howard Air to come out to inspect. They first told me to contact the gas company since the gas company would come out to inspect right away. The gas company came out immediately since this is considered an emergency and determined that there was a problem with the furnace and that the gas should remain off until fixed. Then, I contacted Howard Air again to come out to inspect. Howard Air informed me that the heat exchanger was cracked, which is dangerous, and that the furnace would need to be replaced. The next day, they sent a salesman to inspect and provide an estimate on replacement. After receiving an estimate, I told the salesman (Brian) that I would need to get a second estimate before agreeing to their proposal. However, after hanging up the phone, I decided to call back to see if they would apply the discount coupon from Angie's list to the purchase and installation of the furnace. Brian was able to contact the office to get agreement to apply the coupon, which is normally applied for a complete system rather than just a furnace. Since, they agreed to apply the coupon, I went with Howard Air. Howard Air arrived to install the furnace the next day. The installation was done in a timely manner, and the tenant was very pleased with the work they did. I was able to see the installation later. It looked well-done. But, there were two joints on the duct work exiting the furnace that did not have the aluminum tape applied as was done for the other duct joints. I asked the salesman why that was not also taped. He said it was not needed. After I requested, he had the installation technician call to explain why, which the technician did. It still seems to me that it should have been done since it is simple enough to do. I may still tape it myself. Brian said that a final invoice would be emailed to me as was done for the proposal. I called a couple of days later to request the invoice from Brian and also sent him a text message on the phone and an email. But, still did not receive a response or the invoice. This is typical of what I have seen with service companies. The response seems generally slower after the sale, which I do not like. I called the office more than a week later, and they emailed the final invoice that day, I marked this review that I would use Howard Air again since there is not a choice to say I'm not sure. Overall, I think I would use them again. But, due to the response of getting my invoice after service, I would definitely also consider other companies in the future.
