Installed 2 new Trane AC units and 2 gas furnace units. The crew came out installed all of the units in 1 day. They were very professional and polite. Tarps were laid down to prevent floor scratches, etc. When they finished they vacuumed and did paint touch up around the crawl spaces. Brian came out a few days later to make sure that everything had been done to our satisfaction.

I am planning on adding an addition to my home. So I was requesting a larger unit to heat and cool the new expansion. So they put that unit in for me. However I am waiting a bit on the expansion. So they came and adjusted the unit for the current size of my home.

If you have a contact with them they come out within three hours. They are very good, especially in this heat. They are excellent.
Description of Work: I used Howard Air when we had a problem with water backing up in the system when the air conditioning was running. It was not being released through the line like it was supposed to so it caused an issue with water collecting in one of our closets.

Denis arrived promptly and installed the new thermostat in no time. He took the time to explain how to use the thermostat and how to program it for WiFi access. Previously, I had an emergency situation and called Howard Air on the basis of the Angie's List recommendations. They came out the same day and resolved the problem. I asked the technician about the existing programmable thermostat which was impossible to program. He gave me information on the WiFi product and voila, just a few days later it was a Big Deal on Angie's List. I can't say enough good things about this company. Having just moved to Phoenix, it was a pleasure to find such a great company!

We were remodeling at the time and they promised us that they would install the HVAC units, before we installed the flooring. They then told us that they ran out of units and we had to wait three months before they could come. During that time, the cooling system we previously had stopped working and we had to live with the Arizona heat without cooling for around two months, so we ended up having to use someone else. They were very neat, clean, wore booties and were respectful in our home. They were very responsive and there were no problems when they let us out of the contract.

In 2012, there was a shortage of gas furnace/coil equipment as well as the specific air filtration you wanted from the manufacturer you wanted. We exhausted all resources in attempt to get your specific model delivered for installation. We even installed a temporary unit to allow for you to not go without cooling in the meantime. This temporary unit did fail which we repaired at no cost to you at any point. The equipment shortage was out of our control but it was our responsibility to do what it takes for our customer. So, we offered our other brand as a solution which was not a downgrade in quality and would provide ample levels of comfort. This was not the ideal a/c replacement scenario or one you read about here from other members. We truly hope you see all our efforts as a direct reflection of the dedication we have to customer satisfaction.

The service was average. I asked him to fill some screw holes in the unit and comb out all of the coils. He did not fill the holes and only combed out some of the coils.

It went very well. He called in advance, was on time and quick to get to the problem at hand. Our dogs were not a problem for him. The repair was relatively quickly performed and thoroughly explained. David noticed other possible electrical concerns with my home and suggested what changes might be made. Overall, an excellent experience.

The Howard Air team were professionals - from analysis, to schedule, to installation, and final walk through. The recommendation of which AC units to purchase was provided after careful consideration of the installation and access to the existing units. Scott took a video of the layout of the house and attic so the technicians would know what to expect even before arrival. A hole was required to be made in the entry way ceiling to replace/ install one of the new air handlers. The repair job on the ceiling was so good no one believed there had been a hole. The new ACs are so quiet, we don't even know they are running. Thank you Howard Air team!

The techincian was prompt, courteous and very knowledgable. After he left, some other issues popped up and they responded promptly. It appears as though my 15 year old unit is on it's last leg. I'll certainly give Howard Air an opportunity to replace both units in the future.

Making the appointment was a bit frustrating because their phone system sounds very staticky - each call placed to them had static on the line; the first was disconnected. In the end, we talked with someone who scheduled the service so it worked out. Joel arrived early Saturday afternoon as promised and we were thankful for that since the temp in the house had climbed to 87 degrees. He found a breaker had tripped because a set screw had come loose. The fix was as simple as tightening the screw. I asked him about the diagnostic fee (assuming we'd pay for his other time separately) because we scheduled our tune up in late Spring hoping to avoid any breakdowns over summer. Joel took the time to call their office, described the problem and his fix and was given permission to waive the diagnostic fee. Turns out that was the only fee we would have paid. They made good on their statement of saying "if the system doesn't keep you comfortable...." Very fair and honorable business practice. We've used them twice before this - once in 2013 when we moved in to just be sure all was on the up & up, once for the 2014 tune up, and now for service. Each technician has been professional, prompt, and hasn't charged us for anything that wasn't called for. We'll be calling then again if we need HVAC service.
Description of Work: We called Howard Air at 5:30 on Friday evening of Labor Day weekend. Our compressor stopped working suddenly. They came out Saturday afternoon to repair the problem.

Every other year I manage to get a visitor in my air conditioner's outside system lovingly called a "desert rat". They love the wires which apparently taste like peanut butter. To forego any problems this summer I had Howard Air come out and check the system and of course they found vestiges of the visitor. At any rate, a new and impenetrable wire mesh was attached which should take down the "welcome sign". We'll see. The service rep. was fantastic and went the second mile on all of this. I am so very pleased since I've had shoddy workmanship prior to this company. I love you!

I initially contacted Howard Air in the middle of June as I was hoping to have service by the beginning of July. I told the operator what I wanted a quote for and she said she would send someone out in a few days. Two people came out but they were not able to provide a quote so they said they would call the office and have the office contact me to reschedule a new quote. A manager then called and said someone else would come give me a quote and that they would even waive the $125 fee (which I was never told about before). The guy came out to do the quote, he arrived on time, but was still unsure about what I was requesting a quote for. I explained all of my concerns to him. He took a look at the AC unit, attic, and at the ductwork inside my house and said he would have a quote in a few days. I took approximately 5-7 days and I received an e-mail from Howard Air with a quote for only one of the issues I wanted a quote for. FYI - I wanted new AC wiring, wiring for a new thermostat, and new ductwork, and new air returns. The quote only had the wiring and thermostat installation. I immediately called the office and told the staff that I did not receive my full quote. I was forwarded to a manager who said they did not realize I wanted a full quote because it would be a few thousand dollars. I told him I realized this and still wanted to quote because I wanted the work completed soon. I was told I would receive a full quote but never did. I even sent two follow up emails and never heard back from Howard Air.

I initially spoke with Tina who said someone would come out today as this was a critical situation, but it would be this afternoon. Bryan called first and then showed up in mid-afternoon. I thought that was great given I had just called that morning for an appointment. He advised that both drains were clogged and the drain outside had been draining for some time as there were water marks on the stucco. I have just moved to Phoenix. Kudos to the ADT alarm system installer who alerted me to the seriousness of the problem and kudos to Bryan from Howard Air who showed me that the problem was much more severe than I thought.
Description of Work: Cleaned the two drains on the air conditioner and installed a system that should the drains get clogged again, the system will shut down. If the system had not been serviced today, in a short time I would have had major drywall repairs to do.

These lines are inspected and cleared as a part of our bi-annual service plan which we are happy you also took advantage of. Arizona weather really puts our AC systems to the test while creating lots of condensation. This condensation needs to be directed outside of our homes without restriction. The condensate safety switch that was installed will shut your system off in case your lines are clogged and to prevent this water from spilling onto insulation and drywall in attics and closets. Recently relocated to the East Valley from out of state. One of the things that our home inspector recommended was that we have our AC checked more thoroughly. We carried out some online research and contacted Howard Air to set up an appointment. Tina took my call and kindly set up an appointment for the same day which was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. Bryan, the tech that was assigned to us was friendly and professional. He did an outstanding job performing the standard service call. He took multiple photos of our A/C/Heat Pump unit which is located up on the roof of our home. He then showed me the photos of several components of our A/C system and fully explained their function and why they needed to be replaced in order for our system to run more efficiently. The price quoted was very competitive as well. We gave Bryan the green light to proceed and he replaced the components, added additional Freon and even kindly washed our permanent filter (he explained how important it is to keep this filter clean and to do this each month to ensure unrestricted airflow) and even installed a ptrap in our condensation pipe without charge. Bryan was asked about several photos of our A/C unit that were taken by our inspector and there were several items that he said did not need to be worked on at this time as they were actually in good condition. I appreciate Bryan's integrity and this reflects well not only on him, but on Howard Air too. Bryan also immediately emailed us our invoice when we paid with our credit card. We appreciate that paperless option for our records. Bryan, thanks for doing such a great job for us and we look forward to having you come out again for our next service this coming fall for the heat pump. Great job Howard Air!
