Howard Air

The cost was surprising but they did what they could to keep the cost down. They didn't keep to up sale me on anything nor replaced equipment just say you could fix it if you want to. They were punctual they are conscious in as far as our best interest in heart.

As usual, Howard Air did a fine job. I would highly recommend this company. See my review in August 2015 which we wrote after Howard Air replaced our other A/C unit and heat pump.

Howard Air saved the day again! Denis was able to quickly determine the issue. A major valley competitor had replaced the capacitor just a few months prior. The competitor had obviously did a poor job as the connectors were loose and caused the wires on top of the capacitor to make contact with other connectors. The disconnect box partially melted due to heat. Denis replaced the wires, connectors, & disconnect box very quickly. Howard Air is the best! Highly recommended for their speed, cost, honesty!!

They said my AC had no problems. Which sounds good. But it's 10 years old and this one was the first time I had it looked at. I thought maybe it would need some Freon or something but it didn't.

Michael was wonderful. He found some burned out wires that were causing the problem. He also found a problem with a loose connection in our whole house cleaner.

Excellent customer service by the office staff as well as the technician that visited the the home. (This home is a single family residence that I rent out). Howard Air came out for a 2nd opinion on a repair or replacement suggested by the first company I had out. The first company said there was a "restriction" in the cooling coil and my 2 options were to replace the coil for $2,590.00 or a new system for $5,900.00! Howard Air fixed for $268.00! 🙏🏻 Howard Air also waived the inspection fee since I was able to email them the report from the other company, since it was a 2nd opinion. The other company has the initials of C.R. , that's all I'll say, but thank you!, thank you, thank you to Howard Air!!

Not good After 5 minutes at my home, he informed me that I needed new compressor. This turned out not to be true.

Not thrilled. I was told my the homeowner who I just bought the house from, the A/C was just checked out 30 days ago and all was good. I thought I'd spend a few dollars just to be sure. Everything seemed ok until the tech got on the roof and took apart my A/C unit. Then he came down and told me I needed approximately 4 to 5 lbs of freon at $45 per pound. There was no issue with the air being cold, I just wondered why it was warmer downstairs that upstairs. He told me before he went on the roof it was due to the only air exchange vent was upstairs. I would have been fine with that answer, not trying to sell me $200 of freon I don't believe I needed.

Cliff was awesome! I had just spent 5 hours with a competitor who was trying to repair the blower motor on my furnace. He immediately found the issue with the motor being the wrong voltage. The tech from the other company actually installed the wrong part! Cliff fixed it and my family is sleeping well tonight. Thanks Cliff! Howard Air is the best and my new HVAC service team!!

From the time Dave called 15mins before arriving to the time he left everything went smooth. He asked a few questions about the operation, whether or not the AC showed any issues during the 119 day from ****, and any other things to note. He cranked down the AC and went up the roof to work his magic. He cleaned the coils (which were not too bad), flush the drain (which was also not too bad), inspected the electrical. He found a burnt wire which he quickly replaced (burnt from the heat and the high current flowing through it). Inspected the capacitors they had replaced a couple of years ago and found them still in good working condition. Suggested to perhaps move the drain line away from inside the house sometime on the future. Dave was very professional and explained everything very carefully.

Steve came out and did the estimate. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I interviewed 3 potential installers and found Howard Air to be the best. I liked their scientific approach to sizing the system, their methodical approach for the installation, and overall they were very easy to work with. They were always on time, did a great job cleaning up after the job, were attentive to the small details and following up after the fact to address minor issues. One minor challenge that arose was on the whole house filtration system. The filter box had problems closing, so you could hear a whistle sound as it pulled air in from the attic. The installer blamed the product and said they've had problems with those units in the past. I asked why they didn't mention it before and they responded that I wanted that system so that's what they provided me. Granted, this is the installer and not the customer service guy, so I didn't argue the point that as the experts, if I ask for something that is of poor quality I'd hope you'd inform me of that. So, after a bit of phone tag I managed to get someone out to look at it, and they ended up sealing the lid with silicone. I actually felt bad that they drove all the way down to me just to do this, as I could have done it myself. I was hoping they'd have another solution or would work with the manufacturer to get a lid replacement. However, everything got fixed during the 6 month maintenance and inspection. The individual they sent out went through the whole system thoroughly and sealed up a couple of small leaks and discovered that the screws used to install the plenum that interfaced to the air filtration system were just a bit too long, preventing the lid from closing all the way. So, now we're all fixed up and the system is running well and keeping us cool in this crazy heat wave. All in all, I would use them again and I highly recommend them. I was impressed with the overall quality of their work.

The technician that showed up was punctual and very polite, he got right to work checking out the system and gave a few tips on how to better protect the outside unit. Upon completing his inspection he was really focused in on trying to get me to replace the entire system, which I was certainly wasn't going to commit to doing right then and there. Then he began upsetting his companies services offering two pricing plans. The inspection that he performed would cost $99, but if I payed $198, I would receive a 10% discount on any parts for the repairs needed and I would have my next inspection paid for in advance. Like a fool, I committed to the more expensive plan and was given a promise that they would call me to schedule a follow up appointment. Its been nearly three months and I have yet to receive any contact from them, be it a phone call or an email. I My advice to anyone out there is save your money and go with someone other then Howard Air. I am greatly disappointed with their service and lack of respect towards me. My only regret is that it cost me $198 to find out how over rated these guys are and how little respect they have for new customers. I will never even think of using them again.

The service man arrived on time and was very professional. Inspected and cleaned the A/C inside and out. Found no problems but suggested we install a float switch in the condensate pipe after we indicated that the pipe sometimes clogs we end up with wet floors. He also suggested that the pipe from the compressor should be insulated, something the original installer failed to do. He indicated these were small issues, and would not affect the running of the unit but would be glad to complete them. Compared to other companies we have had perform our annual maintenance, we felt absolutely no pressure from the service man to complete his suggestions. That said, and because the pricing was reasonable, we went ahead and had him complete the items. He completed both in short order and did a great job. We were very pleased with Howard Air so far and will be using them in the future for our annual maintenance and if any other issues arise with our AC.

The technician (Cliff) was very professional and friendly. He took his time to do the job right and make sure we are set for another hot summer. Definitely recommend.

I have used them a couple of times. I started to like them, that's why I had them back because the biggest thing that bothers me about all of these companies is that they nickel and dime me. Howard Air did a great job, but the last two times they have nickel and dimed me. It has started to drive me nuts. I have a service contract with them.

very well. very nice man came to the home and was very thorough. Past companies we have used only looked at the outside AC unit for the summer check up but he looked in the attic as well. He answered questions and was very professional.

Overall, I was really impressed with Howard Air. The original appointment had to be moved because of miscommunication between myself and the scheduler. The scheduler was understanding and professional. The technician was very knowledgeable and professional. They were upfront and honest with all of the recommendations. He even modified the drip line configuration in our split system to make it easier to clean in the future. Definitely recommend. Will use Howard Air again in the future.

I had them remove it, and I bought the replacement capacitor locally for $14.56 tax included. He called his boss, who informed both of us that they are not a wholesale operation. That's an ironic understatement! I understand that it is customary to charge a markup for parts but to go from $15 to $281 is gouging. Watch yourself with HA, if you don't know what items should cost they apparently have no problems gouging you. It's a free country to charge what the market will bear - Angie's List people you are also free not to use their?services.

They did a tune up on two of our air conditioners. They are awesome with crisis as well. They found an issue that we took care of. Very professional and nice. Got to use an Angie's list special on one of the air conditioners.

They replaced the compressor a year and a half ago to have it fail not even a year later and when they replaced that one, it failed again 6 months later. When I called, they said it would be covered at 100% due to being within the warranty time period. The tech confirmed this with me after he had gone out there per speaking with his manager. A day later I called to follow up on a time frame of when the compressor would be replaced, and the representative told me they were looking into the warranty as it may not be covered and the labor would NOT be covered. Two other people there told me the opposite and now I had to go through another company to ensure we have it replaced in a timely manner with the heat on the rise. She also said she would follow up on what they find out and never did- I cannot believe it would even be a question whether or not the compressor was replaced at 100%. This is bad business and I will be talking with the BBB next.

Troy showed up and got right to work. He was very courteous and efficient during the whole time he was here. He also used shoe covers to put over his shoes each time he entered the house from the outside. He answered all of my questions and actually showed me the new capacitor before putting it in and showed me the old one that he removed. I used the coupon on Angie's List for the 44 point AC tune up.

I have known David Smith for years as tech at my parent’s home. He suggested to call his HA Company for a system review of my home as we were not satisfied with present company He took three bro to go over it- very complete. He took photos of areas and explained problems. all 6 of the installers were very professional and experienced. We are very happy with the work they performed. M. H.
