Description of Work: the service technician came out as scheduled. There were problems with our air conditioner and he recommended a new system. We did replace our air conditioner and even though we ultimately used someone else. I was very satisfied with Howard Air.

Description of Work: The company was more concerned with selling me an entire unit that was going to cost me thousands of dollars instead really fixing what was wrong. I had another company come out to service my AC unit and found the problem, that was a small part that just cost me a couple hundred dollars and it works great.

Description of Work: Inspected A/C unit on roof. Recommended two parts be replaced, approved by me and installed. Parts cost seemed a bit high but I have no way to compare. Labor was discounted, however. All in all a good service experience and I would use them again.

We also know that if there is nothing wrong with your system we are not inclined to "find" something wrong. Although, we cannot prevent them 100% we can attempt to discover minor issues that potentially become major issue down the road. Went very well.
Description of Work: The service guy showed up a few minutes early, went through the entire process of what was included with the coupon I bought, and then went to work on the first a/c unit. He also needed to service the second unit, and wrote up a full report on the additional areas of work that he thought we needed based on his assesment of the system. My a/c unit is working much better now, and I have a better understanding of what additional work needs to be done. Would definitely use this company again.

Description of Work: I was very happy with the preventive breakdown AC tuneup I received from Howard Air. I have a Home Warranty and really wanted an outside opinion on the condition of my AC before I called on them for repairs. I was upfront with this to the technician, and even though he realized that I would be going to my Home Warranty to get the repairs needed, he still did a thorough evaluation and estimate of all the repairs that needed to be done on my unit. He also spent all the time needed to answer my questions about the condition of my unit. When the time comes to replace my AC, I will definitely call on Howard Air to give me a quote.

Went great, work done expediently.
Description of Work: Replaced capacitors on 2 units. I used an Angie's LIst coupon for $69.99 each for maintenance of 2 A/C units. I have always held faith with Howard Air that they are NOT one of the companies here in Phoenix that draws you in with an inexpensive maintenance offer so they can send a salesman out to your house to talk you into work that you don't need. These are 5 year old units that the technician said "these are working fine, but the capacitors are borderline. They will likely last the season, but they might not... since you have 2 units, chances are that only one would go out and the other would keep you cool until standard business hours, so you wouldn't have to worry about an emergency call... it would just be a regular house call... I'll leave it up to you if you want to replace them now or wait ...." THIS is the opinion of an experienced honest technician... not a salesman and this is why I have learned to trust Howard Air. Believe it or not, in previous homes I have had, they have actually looked it over, said "Looks Great" , packed up and left. What a refreshing change from most companies I have dealt with. I went ahead and replaced the capacitors. Their pricing for maintenance work might not seem like the cheapest out there, but that's because gas and incidentals cost money and they don't try to recover that through dishonest sales tactics. I live with the confidence that I'm not getting scammed and that makes it more than worth it.

Description of Work: We were in the process of selling our house and the buyer had the place inspected. The inspector was concerned about a low temperature split between our two units. We decided to have the units serviced by Howard Air after reading the reviews online and calling them. They were reasonable and got us in quickly. Their schedulers were extremely helpful and knowledgable. When the guy came out he found that the compressor in one unit needed to be replaced. They worked to find a solution for this expensive problem and found that the 5-year warranty expired in just 2 days! They ordered the part quickly and had it installed right away. As frustrating as it was to have this happen they made everything seamless and honored the Angie's List coupon to make it more affordable.
