Description of Work: We have been very happy with Howard Air. We recently switched from another provider to Howard Air. Their service representative Michael is very thorough, polite and efficient. This service was part of our maintenance package so, there was no cost to this service. He did run late that day due to a more extensive service prior to ours. My only suggestion would be is that they should have called us to inform he would be running several hours late.

Description of Work: Replaced A/C. Unit had leaks and was a very old needed replacement. Howard offered several unit options and installation in a timely manner. They were neat professional and very polite. I have recommended them to friends and family. Can't go wrong with this company.

Description of Work: There professionalism was great. We needed our room air conditioner repair. They did all then necessary checks the to find the problem and repair it. Wouldn't you know it. A week later our main home conditioner stopped cooling. Since Howard air did such a great job the first time. On our room air conditioner. We called them again. As before they were very professional, and on time. They did the necessary diagnostic checks, and found a bad capacitor and replaced it.

Description of Work: Serviced two heating and A/C units. Replaced one 30 amp 1 pole contactor and installed two surge protectors. Servicing the two heating and A/C units was an Angie's List special at $59.99 per unit. The price to replace the contactor was $179.14 and the price to install two surge protectors was $226.00. Technician was very professional, punctual and knowledgeable. Work performed was done in a professional manner and I was very satisfied with the work performed. I would use this provider again.

Description of Work: I had Howard Air come to my house for an estimate to replace my two a/c units. They had the best prices out of the 3 or 4 companies that I had out to my house. They also included two years of service and two programmable thermostats to seal the deal. The install went very well. They were on time, professional, courteous, and cleaned up after the install. I'm very happy with my purchase and their responsiveness to my calls, inquiries and concerns. My old units were 10 years old and show much wear and tear. They were costing me a fortune in electricity bills. The new ones are much more energy efficient and my monthly bills with SRP dropped significantly. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: I understand I'm a contrarian in all these reviews but I assure you my experience warrants you considering another provider. My system was running for a short while and then would shut off. It was almost like clock work. The tech sent to my house was professional and courteous but he could not figure out the problem. He attributed the problem to "mixed systems" an air handler of one brand and a condenser of a different brand. | |He left and the problem continued. I called them back and this time the tech and his manager came to my place. The result? Being advised I needed a new system (we're talking $7k +). While they appeared to know what they were talking about I contacted another provider (Cool Blew). That Tech had the problem figured out within an hour. There was a faulty load controller installed by the breaker box that was bypassed to allow my system to run without stopping. | |I called Howard Air back to talk with the manager and the call was not returned. Therefore I contacted the owner who was again very courteous. He investigated the issue and informed me that Cool Blew was "lucky" in that if I had called Howard Air back they would have found it the third time and the other "adjustments" made by their techs helped Cool Blew focus in on the problem. I could not disagree more. The on and off issue was in no way associated with valves or pressure based upon the Cool Blew's tech information. I was informed a check for $100 would be sent to me to refund the cost of the last tech I called. I would be refunded the full amount if I purchased a new air handler from them. I've wait 3 weeks and nothing. I could call them back but I'll chalk up the $256 they got from me as a hard learned lesson not to do business with them again. Hopefully I can persuade some others to consider using another provider such as Cool Blew or American Home Air. | |Is Howard Air a good company? I think so. Everyone I spoke with was professional and respectful. I believe I just had a bad experience. Imagine if I had went with their advice. I would have been out thousands of dollars and the issue would have still remained until the load controller was replaced. If you do use them be cautious and rest assured the service will hit your wallet.

Description of Work: A/C maintenance checkup. They also found furnace door loose which caused the power to turn off. Diagnosed very little slope to condensate drain. Problem had been undetected by previous A/C checks. He showed us the situation and was able to complete all work same day and fair price. Very professional and respectful of our home.
