Working with Grimes Trucking and Landscaping Supplies is a piece of cake. The cost is $300 for one load, or $250 per load if more than one load (plus disposal fees, if any). I was concerned that he might not be able to cram it all into two loads. A dishonest businessman might have gone a little lighter on the loading to stretch it to 3 loads, thus making an extra $250. Pat is honest and successfully packed it into just 2 loads . . . he knows that next time I have more hauling to do, I'll call him since I can trust him. Note that Grimes Trucking was hired to haul away the dirt, not clean the yard. There was still a good dusting in the street and on the sidewalk that the homeowner's association would disapprove of. I had to sweep the final bits up (maybe 2 shovels full in all) and hose down the street to keep the association from having a hissy fit and snowing me with nasty letters. There are many "light weight" hauling companies on the list; some probably provide better manual cleanup service. I highly recomend Grimes for the really heavy work. They have the equipment and experience to handle the big stuff. I have used Grimes a total of 3 times over the years, and they are always honest, reliable, and never flinch at a truly massive pile of debris that would make other companies pale.
Description of Work: I excavated the foundation for my new pool house and had roughly 30 tons of dirt piled in the street in front of my house. I called Grimes to get rid of it. The next day, Pat Grimes showed up with his huge dump truck towing a flat trailer with a large front loader. He took as much of the dirt as he could scrap off the asphalt with a hand shovel. This job required two full loads. Important: Grimes gives dirt or concrete away to companies that can use it. Mixed loads of concrete and dirt, or dirt and trash are difficult to dispose of. Keep your materials separate to avoid disposal fees. Grimes hauls just about anything, not just dirt, trash, and concrete scrap . . . that's the "landscaping materials" part of their name.
