In May of this year, I was introduced to the owner of this establishment, a Mr. Ara Aydinian. The introduction was by way of a mutual friend with whom I have long been acquainted. Being a business owner/operator myself (for over twenty years), I know what it means to have a good reputation, not only for the work that one does, but for the way people are treated. Honesty and integrity in conducting one's affairs can often make the difference between getting and keeping a client's business or not, regardless of expertise. I've always felt that what is good for the client IS good for me as a businessman and I believe in treating people as I would like to be treated... apparently, Mr. Aydinian doesn't espouse the same credo, or certainly doesn't practice it. As I had been introduced as a computer consultant, Ara proceeded to ask me about his computer that he wanted to have replaced with a "good used" system (on the cheap). I told him I had some 'refurbed' systems and spoke of one in particular that would fit the bill. (Certainly cheaper than the custom-builds I do.) He asked how much. We agreed on the price, delivered with the additions necessary to meet with his needs and preferences; including Mozilla FireFox (his preference) and a good anti-virus program due to the primary use being online banking. While I was at it, I spent (valuable consulting) time taking a look at his system concerning his main complaint that it was "slow". After a cursory inspection of the hardware we were dealing with (to establish what would be expected based on its construction), I got down to particulars of what software was running, and in this case especially, what wasn't running - no current, active anti-virus program. I downloaded a "clean-up" AV program, installed, and ran it. We also talked about the 'fragmentation' on his hard-drive that would be an issue as far as performance. We set an appointment to meet on Monday, May 30th at noon. (Yes, it was Memorial Day, but businessmen often don't know what that means.) As scheduled, I appeared at the appointed place and time with a working (and tested) computer in hand, backed-up and ready to roll. I had spent over five hours of time getting it configured as needed. It had a clean installation of Windows, a customized dual-boot configuration for the use of 'techie' tools and dual disks for backup/recovery in event of corruption/failure - definitely a 'cut-above' even on the cheap. The software required included a top-of-the-line anti-virus product that I had paid for "out of my own pocket". Well, Ara was ‘out sick’ that day, so I left my card with phone number so he could give me a call. While there, I inspected the results of the AV scan done on his current system and (not unexpectedly) found that it was (had been) 'infested' with malware, or PUP (potentially unwanted programs) as it is euphemistically called these days. I also took a look at his video security (that used computer-type hardware) for the potential of accessing it remotely. We spoke subsequently, by my calling him to reschedule the appointment he missed... not only that week, but in subsequent weeks, as he was "going to let me know" when it was convenient for him. To make a long story short, that day never came and as of today when I stopped by to see him in person due to the gross delay in delivery, it became clear that the man is not "good for his word" and planned to renege on the deal. I don't normally write reviews, but this one is well deserved. It pays to know who you do business with and all I can say is ‘my bad’. Because of the introduction by a man I know and respect, I thought that I could take Ara's word as a gentleman. Obviously, I was mistaken. Although I didn't see this man for jewelry work, from the looks of some of the reviews, his work seems to be a real "crap-shoot". As to the man's integrity, I can vouch for that... he doesn't have any. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check Yelp and BBB for reviews / complaints.
Description of Work: Made a verbal contract for service/purchase - delivered as promised. Reneged on the commitment.

Ara the owner, did a terrific job and made a truly unique pair of earrings. His pricing was very reasonable and he was a delight to work with. It is always preferable to do business with a sole proprietor rather than a store chain - makes the whole experience more personal. I have already recommended him to my friends.

Our house burned, resulting in smoke/steam damage to all of the jewelry that was in the house, including Native American turquoise necklaces, rings, bracelets, bola ties and watches. This is a family owned and operated store, and Ara and his wife and son were very responsive in cleaning over 50 pieces, including replacing all of the leather loops on the bola ties. A few pieces did need to be re-cleaned (at no charge) but that was only on items that we were in a hurry to pick up, so they were sealed in a plastic bag before entirely dried and needed to have a modest film wiped off of them. The pricing was lower than I expected for such a job. When we were ready to leave the mall with all this jewelry, they even called the mall security to escort us out to our car to insure our safety. I definitely would recommend Gold Touch for cleaning and repairs, and give them high marks for being personable and attentive to our needs and requests.

Fast, and inexpensive Both repairs were done in under ten minutes total. My only issue (realized later) is that he verbally gives a one-year warranty on all work, but it's not on the invoice. That may not be a problem, but it's always better to have it in writing. Still, I would use Gold Touch again and definitely recommend them to friends and family..
Description of Work: My husband's Skaagen watch needed a new battery and Skaagen's website listed another franchise as their authroized repair person. I called for the price and it was going to be about $20. I checked reviews. Others said that this place builds extras you don't need into its base price. I did a search and found Gold Touch. The reviews were good and everyone commented on the reasonable prices, good work and fast fix times. I called them and they gave me two prices - $9.99 for low end Skaagens and $14,99 for high end. We had bought the watch at Costco, so we thought it might be low-to-mid, but we weren't sure. In any event, I brought the watch there -- it was in the same mall as the franchise. He gave me a $.9.99 price, and fixed it in a minute. I also asked him to fix the clasp on a necklace, which he did for $5.99.
