They refuse to provide estimates or feasibility assessments over the phone. A service person showed up to provide an estimate on putting in a new power outlet in our laundry room. He provided an estimate that the new outlet would a few thousand dollars, but that he didn't think he had the expertise to do it. He then demanded the 70$ base fee for the home visit. When I told him I thought this was unfair, he actually started laughing at me. I paid him to get him out of the house. Another electrician came over and completed the job in 30 minutes for $500 total.

I discovered my gas water heater dripping in the storage room adjacent to my laundry room and found that the water had been soaking into the nearby baseboard of the laundry room. On a past plumbing repair call for a shower fixture, I purchased the George Brazil Lifetime Service contract thinking that the discount would be good and knowing a reputable contractor for these situations is always helpful. So I called George Brazil and they scheduled a plumber to come out that afternoon. The plumber arrived on time and assessed the problem and deduced that I need a new water heater. I had cleaned out the storage room which has an exterior door, so as to provide easy access to the area. I had not priced water heaters, especially natural gas, and also needed to get it fixed. The plumber pulled out their price book gave me the quote. He said that their water heaters were of exceptional quality and had a 6 year guarantee. He also need to replace a couple of the copper pipes connecting to the water heater. The plumber did a fine job replacing the water heater in about 2-3 hours. When I got back to work the next day, I talked to a friend of mine and he told me that he had just contracted to have a water heater replaced and it only cost him around $500. And even if I factored in an exceptional quality water heater (which I searched online and found to have commercial grade ratings, but only cost $400-500 retail), the cost could not add up to $1400. I called the George Brazil company and left a message for their service manager who contacted me several days later. I complained about the cost of the repair work, and that it didn't seem like I was getting any type of "preferred" customer discount and that it actually seemed like the cost was much higher than necessary. He repeated the statements about their product and service quality and their warranty. He would not reduce the cost.

They did a good job. They came in, new the problem, they had the parts, they installed the part and everything's okay.

This was a dreadful experience and I'll never use this service again. I called and asked to have my dripping faucet fixed. This meant scheduling time off work, which also meant skipping lunch. Before even seeing the problem, the guy starts talking about getting a new hot water heater. Then, while I'm standing there feeling my blood sugar bottoming out (remember--no lunch) he wastes my time trying to sell me on a lot of blather about hot water heaters, water softeners, blah blah blah. Then he fixes the faucet in about 5 minutes. I asked, "Couldn't I have done that myself?" He says, "No, since it's a Moen you need a special tool."

Service was awful. The pricing is confusing and they push a service contract that is expensive. I refused the service contract only to find they had added it into the final total of almost $200 extra. The next day the water heater was standing in a pool of water and was spraying a leak onto the wall. They had insisted they needed to change the plumbing into the unit, but the technician was new and could not do the job. It took 3 days and 4 different times of technicians coming out to fix the problem. Ridiculous!

They came, did everything I wanted done. They came back, after I started a service package. They assign one person to your home, so they are the same, every time the come. All in all, it was a very good experience and I will continue to use them for all my plumbing needs.

I wouldn't use this company again because of their predatory pricing practices and poor customer service.

THEY DID A LOUSY JOB. THEY DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.

WE WERE NOT HAPPY WITH THE WORK. WE HAD A PROBLEM AFTERWARDS AND THEY DID COME OUT RIGHT AWAY TO REPAIR IT. THEY ALSO REPLACED THE WOOD THAT WARPED FROM THE LEAK. WE WEREN'T HAPPY WITH THE ORIGINAL WORK, BUT WE WERE HAPPY WITH THEIR REPAIR WORK. WE ALSO FELT THAT THEY CHARGED EXCESSIVELY. THEY CRACKED SOME PORCELAIN IN A SINK AS WELL.

THE PRICE THEY QUOTED ME WAS $957, SO I DID NOT HAVE THE FAUCET INSTALLED. I HAD THEM GO AHEAD AND HOOK UP THE WATER TO THE ICE MAKER FOR OVER $400 ( EVERYBODY HAS TOLD ME THAT WAS WAY TOO MUCH). THE NEXT DAY THEY WERE COMING TO CHECK THE A/C, I FIGURED IT WOULD BE UNDER $100, IT HAD NOT BEEN ON FOR A YEAR, IT ENDED UP COSTING ME $384. THEY PUNCHED A HOLE IN THE A/C WHILE PUTTING IN A SCREW, AND ALL THE FREON WAS RELEASED.

THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND WERE ABLE TO REPAIR IN A TIMELY FASHION.

OUR REGULAR COMPANY COULD NOT FIT US IN FOR A FEW WEEKS, AND WAS VERY UNRESPONSIVE TO OUR CALLS. WE HAD USED GEORGE BRAZIL IN THE PAST FOR A WATER HEATER REPLACEMENT, AFTER TROUBLE WITH ANOTHER COMPANY, AND WERE VERY PLEASED. THEY RESPONDED WITHIN 24 HOURS OF OUR PHONE CALL THIS TIME AND REPLACED THE MOTOR IN ONE OF OUR A/C UNITS THE SAME DAY. THEY MAY NOT BE THE CHEAPEST, BUT WE HAVE LEARNED FROM EXPERIENCE THAT THEY ARE FRIENDLY AND RELIABLE. I WILL USE THEM AGAIN.
