George Brazil Plumbing and Electrical

We have used George Brazil for all of our plumbing needs. They were prompt, responsible, and cleaned up the mess when the job was finished. They were conscious about what was around them and made an effort to keep everything clean.

They were very good, I have no complaints about him at all. I felt they did a quality installation.

Plumber Scottin McCabe of George Brazil Home Services performed the repairs as listed above. He did a full inspection of the plumbing in my old house and made several recommendations. He took the time to carefully explain everything he was doing and why. When he finished replacing my hot water heater drainage port he showed me the old part, corroded and full of sediment.Most remarkably, he spotted the problem of excessively high water pressure...something no plumber in twenty years had brought to my attention. Before he installed the valve he showed me the reading on the gauge he used to measure the pressure.He even took time to caulk a bathtub to prevent water damage. Everything he did was done with the highest level of professionalism. Mr. McCabe worked neatly and quickly, obviously knowledgeable about plumbing. I would not hesitate to recommend him, and, indeed, plan to call on him in the future.

They did an excellent job. I was very satisfied with them. They were very professional. They were personable as well.

We use them all of the time for plumbing and other needs. They did a fine job.

The tech arrived promptly and was very professional -- I have no issues with that. But the estimate -- $1200!! This was just for labor -- I already had the parts. Needless to say, I didn't have the work done, but it cost me a service call to get that ridiculous estimate. I ended up using Lowe's. It cost just over $200 to install both faucets, the service was great, and I've had no problem with the faucets. I don't understand how George Brazil can stay in business -- who would pay those prices?

We've always been very satisfied with the work they've done. If they ever have to come back out for a project we've already paid for, they never charge us extra. They're very reasonable & have 24 hour service.

The plumber (Joe...yes, really) was very friendly and personable. He took a look at the 3 jobs I requested and, while he was under my kitchen sink, noticed that my garbage disposal also had a leak. He gave me estimates for all 4 jobs and offered me the purchase of a maintenance agreement. He was not pushy at all and left it up to me to decide what I wanted done. I had him go ahead and do two of the jobs, based on the estimates he gave me. Joe did quality work, but it was expensive. He also talked to me about a water treatment unit, which he highly recommended based on his own experience. I would hire Joe again to come out and work on my house...I just wouldn't want to pay these prices.

He did a bad job it was black sludge all over my basement and he wasn't prepared I had to give him the supplies to clean it up.

I had no idea what a water heater cost until after they put it in. Some of my friends said I got a terrible price. I checked with Sears, Home Depot, and others and the range for the water heaters were between $450-$600. I talked to them and they refused to make any change to the cost. They said it was just business. Nonetheless they did this on Christmas Day, but that isn't worth $1000 more than the going rate.

They showed up on time and started on the repair immediately. Then, they started telling me about all these repairs I needed. They really nickel-and-dimed me. The plumbing in the bath tub still doesn't drain fast, so I paid a lot of money and still didn't get the service I expected. What they advertise is a lot different than what you get when they come to your house.

After we paid him the service call fee, I called CRead & Son Electric. Clarance came out, only to discove that there was no problem with the receptical or the switch. Ie seems that the hose from the sprayer on the sink was pulling on the electrical cord from the disposal. He simply re-routed the cord and the porblem was solved. Thanks Clarance. Just got the feeling that someone was trying to take advantage of a senior citizen.

I have no complaints for the guy who did the electric. The sales man who came out to give an estimate for the rest of the kitchen was good. When the workers showed up, it was a different story. They're never on time and I had to sit and wait a lot. It would be nice to have a courtesy phone call stating that they were running late.

My tenant called as the toilet was continuing to free flow. I could not attend to the matter immediately and instructed the tenant to call a plumber. Geo Brazil called me for authorization to go out and check it out, which I gave along with a credit card #. Later that afternoon, I received a call from the plumber. He stated that both toilets would need to be rebuilt ($240 each for $20 worth of parts and an hour labor). Since the toilets were old, he recommended they just be replaced. He offered to do this with Home Depot toilets that he would get and install ($100 toilets could be installed for $600). After some discussion over the phone, the plumber became indignant at which time I told him I would gladly pay the $65 service charge for these crooks to leave my house.

The work went fast. They carry all parts on their truck.Disposal works fine and plumber was nice. Efficient but outrageously expensive!

They were quite professional. They were pretty responsive. I would use them again.

Warning... do not use! Crooks! I was away on business so my elderly mother ( 80 years old ) was watching my house along with a list of some things to have done. She had George Brazil out to replace three water supply lines to toilets and install 1 new toilet with valve. These folks saw an elderly lady and totally ripped her off. The toilet and install alone was almost $1,000 for a $150.00 home depot toilet, a wax ring, and a valve. Installng the three valves was the remaining roughtly $1,400. For what amounts to about $20 bucks in parts, they charged hundreds for along with an insane labor rate. The only way they were able to get away with this was my being out of the country and her unable to reach me. When I asked her why she agreed to this she told me it was because if she didn't the house would be ruined according to the plumber. Keep in mind three of the four valves didn't leak at all, I just wanted them changed out from the old solder type to the new screw in kind so I could easily replace the toilets as part of a remodel we are doing and could feel secure they were new and wouldn't leak. The only thing that needed to be done was the one toilet valve replaced. They convinced her by scaring her that the toilet needed to be replaced entierly and everything had to be done immediately as leaks from the toilets would cause mold and ruin the wood floors in the house and that if she waited there could be significant damage. Keep in mind, only one valve had a minor leak and the floor in that area is not wood and the leak was minimal occuring only when turning the valve on or off. The sad part about this is I literally have what probably is several thousand dollars worth of plumbing that needs to be done for a new addition, and needless to say I will not be calling George Brazil.

Truly a nightmare, this was a major roof and skylight project where they were supposed to coordinate the work between 3 companies. The timing had to be right to the hour so as not to holdup the other companies and do tasks in appropriate sequence. They had 3 weeks to plan. I get an e-mail late in the day before the work (they didn't try my cell phone) that they had fouled up the paperwork and had never arranged fabrication of the components due to that! Turns out a nontechnical office lady was the one coordinating technical work with the other companies. The morning of the work she was on vacation and I got the run around while the roofers were in limbo. I finally got through to field manager Josh who started hurling insults at me due to office ladies trying to defend their mistakes with cover-ups. The roofers actually moved the heavy unit for them as a favor as they were not equipped with devices or manpower to do it. Cost was probably 200% of market rates, but time constraints led me to sign with them as I thought it was a reputable name. The technician was competent in A/C and electrical but I would reject doing business with them on the basis that their office is only marginally functional. A friend of mine who used to be a technician for them laughed at me and said that he could have warned me to stay away from them.

I'd NEVER recommend them to anyone, ever. From what I hear and from others also -- they are a ONE TIME contractor after being burnt financially, never to call again, for anything. I certainly never will...

Called for an estimate. Told nobody can see me until tomorrow. this is for a simple job, Snaking out the main drain. Nobody showed up EVER.

Do not use George Brazil Plumbing. They use deceptive and questionable pricing tactics - they repaired a leaky faucet at my widowed mothers house and charged her $350. They showed her a "pricing book" that has bogus prices. This was a $26 part from ACE hardware. High powered lawyers that do complex merger and acquisition work don't charge $1,400 per hour. To add insult to injury, when I called to question them about their crooked business practices, Dave (the supposed plumbing manager in Phoenix) was rude, insulting, and didn't care that he just took advantage of a distraught widow. I asked him to refund my money and give me my leaky faucet back and he hung up on me. Clearly a man who values his customers. Dave needs to be fired and George Brazil needs to be investigated by the Attorney Generals office.

They were pretty good. We've used them before. They are very thorough and they can do a lot of things. The quality of their work seemed to be quite high. They are very expensive.

The quality of his work was good. His price was reasonable. He was punctual and responsive. We will continue to use him in the future.

They were so expensive. I felt like I could not trust them. They said I had so much to repair and I got a second opinion of which they said I did not need. Even though I paid a contract, I have not called them.

He responded to an emergency very quickly and efficiently. They showed up in a couple of hours. The serviceman was very personable. He explained everything to me.
