George Brazil Air Conditioning & Heating

A couple of years ago, we had a big hail storm in the valley, and thousands of homes had new roofs and air conditioners hit. My brother had his air conditioner replaced by them, and he was impressed with them. He recommended them to me, and I used them. I didn’t spend anything because it was under warranty, I have a ten year warranty with them. They were very good, and their professionalism was great. I called them when I had a problem, they were here and they had some little problem, so they came back really early the next day and fixed it. I would recommend them to other members and friends. There was nothing bad about them, the only thing was that they said they would be here at a certain time, and they were a little late.

He came out about 3 or 4 months ago to clean up the air conditioner for the spring. We didn't have to pay anything because we are under contract. He checked out the whole system and cleaned ducts if needed. They are very professional and clean up their messes. They call and let you know when they are going to be there. They are very good!

After returning from a 7 day cruise to find our home partially flooded from our old AC system we were in a panic. I called George Brazil on a Sunday night around 6PM. They had a technician at my home the next morning, we lived without the A/C that night to avoid the emergency service. I knew that the system was about 20 years old and would most likely need to be replaced and was expected a hard sell about this as I have had the happen from other companies on previous repairs. Todd the technician looked at the system and found the the coil pan had rusted out and there was nothing he could do. Our system was a mixed system so he indicated that they probabley would not even work on it but that I could probabley find someone else to replace the coil for about half the cost of buying a brand new system. He did point out that our furnace did not have a draft fan and that could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning which I have been told before. He did not try to pressure me at all into buying a new system until I pushed him a little for his expert recommendation. He said he would recommend replacing the entire system rather than continue to get nickel and dimed on a 20 year old mixed bag furnace and A/C that had now destroyed hardwood floors, walls, etc. I was expecting this so I asked him to give me a quote. He did so on the spot and I decided then to replace the unit as I had done a little price research ahead of time and they were fair on price. He said they would install the new system tomorrow morning and be done by the time I got home from work. The next morning at 6:30 am Carlos the installer was on my door step, he surveyed the area, protected my floors and got right to work. I went to work and left him at it certain that there would be some issue that would prevent them from getting this done on time like usual with this type of work. I checked in during the day and he said the furnace doorway was too small and they were going to have to cut it out. I thought to myself OK how much is this going to cost.... nothing... he said they would take care of having someone out to reframe the door and fix the sheetrock.... WHAT??.... to good to be true. Carlos called around 3:00 PM the system was in and running and the furnace, coil, compressor had all been replaced. He had locked the doors to my home and left the paperwork on the counter. Mind you this was less than 48 hours since my initial call. When I got home they had cleaned up most the water damage, reinstalled the old door and my new system was up and running. I though well they aren't really going to come back and replace the old door and fix the sheetrock but today I got the call from the contractor to schedule the appointment to finish the work just like they said. What a horrible experience to come home from a vacation to this mess, but these guys are PRO's do what they say and do it when they say they will. I have hired alot of contractors for many things, never in my life has anything been so fast and smoth. My family thanks you, you have a customer for life.

They were so honest, they actually told me that I should hire someone else that could do it for cheaper than they could. It turned out to be more handyman stuff that actually full scale service.

They were prompt in their service and they kept with their schedules.

George Brazil was very professional. We had 3 other AC companies give us quotes on new units. While George Brazil's quote was a little more than the others, they were the only company to offer installation the next day (a major factor when we had no AC and it was in the 100's outdoors). They were also the only ones who didn't seem to be in a bad mood when they came and gave us their estimates. George Brazil also climbed in our attic to check out our duct work which no other company did. Overall, everything was great, AC was installed the next day and we are all cool again. I would definitely recommend them.

Although there were some communication gaps, the crew who came to replace the unit was extremely competent, freindly and professional. The young man who managed the team was inspirational, and the entire team seemed to work at a breakneck pace the entire day, even in the hot attic. Their prices seemed good by comparison, and I strongly recommend George Brazil.

From start to finish it went as smoothly as I could ever imagine. I interviewd 4 AC contractors and the George Brazil rep was the most professional. When I signed up on Friday 5/5 (one of my units was not operating) the installers were here bright and early on Saturday 5/5, took their time to do a professional job and I now write this in cooling comfort. Nice Job by all from start to finish.

The day prior we got a confirmation call from the company. The Tech, Mykel S., arrived a little early, after calling us to verify that it was OK to come at that time. He was in a Company Uniform, driving a Company Truck. He did his checks of the air handler in the attick, compressor on the ground outside, measured the temp at the vents. and checked the filter. He spent about 30 to 45 minutes. Following the inspection, Mykel gave us a complete written report. Gave us several money saving tips, and presented the solution to the problem he encountered. The amount we spent included parts and labor for the repair, and a 1-year service agreement that includes 2 free inspections, discounts on parts, and other benefits. We are very satisfied.

I called George Brazil Electrical Services to schedule a 16 point tune-up for my AC unit. They advertise it on television for $39.95. The technician arrived on time and was very friendly. After his inspection of my unit he said that it looked like it hadn't been touched since it was installed 9 years ago. I have had the unit serviced at least once a year since I purchased it. He then he gave me a list of things that needed to be replaced with an estimate of close to $900. I was a bit suspicious of his diagnosis and paid him for his visit and decided to go to Angie's List and find a reputable, highly rated AC service company for a second opinion. Kirk from Croffoot Heating and Air came out and did an inspection and serviced my unit. I did not tell him about the George Brazil diagnosis or estimate when he arrived. He found a capacitor that was on it's way out but really didn't have to be replaced right away but it would fail in the future. I decided to have him do that work not wanting my unit to fail in the heat of the summer. The total bill, including the service call was $232.40. The bottom line is, I feel George Brazil's service technician said I needed parts replaced that were working fine and checked out to be well within their specification limits. I would not use the company again and would steer my friends away from using them as well. I'm glad I used Angie's List to find another service company who was fair and honest.

The experience has been very good. They come out when they’re called, and I haven’t had any problems!

Most recently, they did some plumbing work. We have a service contract with them that includes plumbing, heating & a/c.

The experience wasn’t so good. We weren’t very satisfied at the end, and we felt like they overcharged for what was provided. They had built a great reputation and set high expectations, but then didn’t provide this high level of service that was expected.

The experience has been very good. They’ve been very prompt and show up when they say they will.

This was a better than anticipated result and the price was less than I thought it would be. I will use them again in the future.

I’ve used them before when they were Quality Home Maintenance and then they merged with George Brazil; however my neighbor is one of the partners. They’re pretty good. I have one of those warranty things because they replaced my units a while ago. The guys are real good and they clean up after themselves. They’re exceptional. Their responsiveness depends on the time of the year. In the summer they’re very busy. I will use them again in the future if I need to.

I definitely give them a thumbs up. They had to put new duct work in as part of the installation and they didn't charge us.

.Their service was outstanding. The guy that came out to sell us and arrange the work and everything that need to be done was great. He made sure the whole job went great.

We have used them multiple times here and in our other house. The service is fine and their communication is fine but the pricing is outrageous in my opinion. We just moved into our house and we wanted our air conditioner serviced and to make sure it was fine. I spent around $330. The home inspector noted that there might have been something there and there was a capacitor issue. The guy who came out was fine. He was competent and nice but the price seemed a little steep to look at the part. At the time, I was not very well versed in the inner workings of a heating and air conditioning unit but I did some research after that and I found out that the pricing was very much different. Everything was fine except the pricing. We would not use them again in the future.

I needed a new coil in the attic. I decided to get a new outside unit as well as mine was about 13 yrs old. The attic coil and outside York was installed with no problems. My pull down ladder was broke. They sent a contractor to repair it. But it could not be repaired. They replaced it with no question after. They sent someone to fill in the area where the new filter grill was put in. He did a great job. But I received a call that they put the wrong coil in. It was the not coil to meet the Federal Tax Rebate. So they replaced it. That is when the problems started. After they left, I heard this noise coming thru the grill. I called. The next day a repair person came and found they left air bubbles in the tape and after air seeped in. That was fixed and he was nice enough to check the outside and he felt it needed more coolant. On 9/6 my air went out. It was late in the afternoon. They sent a repair person out who found out the compressor was overheating. It was late and he could not get one until the next day. They did offer to pay for a hotel up to $200. But I have an elderly father with dementia and he would not go to a hotel. Also, I have a dog and would have had to have found one that take dogs. So we toughed it out. I thought I would be the first on the schedule the next day for repairs. I called and they said he was at another job and would come when he finished that job. After 3 hours I called again, I was told I was setup between noon and 4 pm. I told them that was not acceptable. They called him and he told them he was on the way to pickup the compressor. So about 1 pm he came. He said it would take 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours to fix. It took longer. But I felt he was very thorough. So about 26 hours after the A/C had gone out, I finally had cold air. By that time it was 91 degrees in my house. All the problems started after they installed the second coil. Apparently they did not evacuate the system well enough and dirt got into the compressor causing it to overheat. The repairman that replaced the compressor took everything apart. He took his time and made sure all the dirt was pulled out of the line. I can't say enough good things about his job. I was not pleased they did not schedule him to come out in the morning first thing. They knew I had not had any A/C since 3 pm the day before.

The most recent person they sent was really nice. He'd told me that my a/c needs an expensive part, but also that I needed a whole new unit, so he recommended that I just wait until it stops working to get a new one. He didn't try to sell me a new one.

It was an excellent experience. The price was competitive, but we got a much better warranty that what the competitors were offering. We had a slight problem with water building up in the unit and they came out the next day and repaired it. They were quick and they cleaned up after themselves. I thought they did a fabulous job.

I like their service, and I’ll continue working with them.

appointment scheduled for time block between 8 am and noon. Office called me shortly before noon. I was told that the serviceman was running "a little late", but they could not estimate time I called them about 2 pm--same story serviceman called me about 2:30 pm, said he was on the way. serviceman arrived about 3:15, apologized and went to work. serviceman finished about 4:45 Note: serviceman spent a good amount of time on his cell phone. 2 days later, our house guest mentioned that his air unit wasn't keeping up with the temperature, and the fan was running constantly. when I inspected the unit, I discovered the serviceman had not replaced the outside (condenser) fuses. when I re-connected the fuse block, the unit started up, and within a few hours was working quite normally Note: I did not call Brazil, because I pictured another long delay trapping me in the house. Fortunately, the chore was easy. End result: lack of communication; technician inattention to task; inappropriate incovenience to the customer; haste makes waste.
