We did sign a contract in early August, but had a death in the family, and we had to postpone for a few weeks. Then, we had rain, so we had another couple of weeks of delay. Finally in October, 2014, they started the work on our backyard. It took them approximately 10-12 days to complete. They planted, fertilized, put in our new irrigation system, put the fountain together, lights, pavers in the backyard and front yard and re-did our concrete in the front so that we wouldn't have a step with our new pavers. They had different crews for different tasks, but Tom, or James, the foreman, was always available, and Jose came to make sure they were following his designs. I would recommend them to anyone who was interested in doing any kind of landscaping.

Tom and Jose put together a wonderful plan that was better than the proposals I received from 4 other landscaping companies. Their workers were prompt, helpful and friendly. The end results are beautiful and way beyond what I had ever imagined for my backyard. It is now a relaxing and peaceful oasis, and I spend time in my backyard everyday, which is a far cry from the past, when I never went into my backyard at all. I am extremely happy that I hired them, and plan to hire them again in the future to redesign my front yard.

In every respect, Tom Ewing and his crew at Gardener's Eden surpassed expectations. Tom is friendly and understanding; he suggested an option for draining our patio that I had not thought possible. His crew were on-site at or before the time agreed. They did a great job cleaning up and restoring after excavations. The high quality of the work was consistent. I was pleasantly surprised at the very fair bid for the entire job. It turned out to be less than half the bid submitted by another contractor for the drainage alone. Gardener's Eden is the honest, super-competent, fair and caring outfit that I had almost given up on finding in Phoenix. A great contrast to the get-rich operators on the prowl. Recommend without reservation.

Met initially with Tom and Jose to describe what we wanted and what they recommended. A few iterations and a final plan/budget was submitted and approved. Crew showed up when expected and worked hard and carefully. A couple days to remove and clean the old landscaping and a couple to install and plant the new. A few small variations and changes were handled without issue. Crew chief Jesse is a pleasure to work with and really makes the process hum along professionally. Tom and Jose showed up after to see if all went well and if everything met our expectations.

I had a vision of what I wanted and they totally made it happen.

We used Gardener' Eden because they are experts at plants. They chose plants I don't see in every neighbor's yard, but are right for our desert climat. I was impressed with the design Jose drew and the colored picture of the mature plants, they were proposing. We got exactly what they promised us, and the schedule was followed. The two teams doing the work were polite, hard working, and very knowledgeable whether installing the paving patio, irrigation, or assisting me in deciding how to shape the mounds of dirt along with placement of the large boulders. I appreciated their patience in letting me make these decisions in an unhurried manner. The workers were English speaking, and communication was never a problem, even letting me work alongside them on occasion since I like to get involved (putting plants in some very large decorative pots). Tom, the supervisor and Jose, the designer stopped by regularly to make sure everything was going according to plans. The finished product is just right. Our funds were limited, but the results look very impressive still. The amount of preparation that went into the paving stone patio will no doubt pay off many years down the road, as I have confidence that it will remain level and keep its shape for ages. They subcontracted the patio to experts and it seemed like a wise choice since that is the focal point of the yard. I am very happy how quickly they fit us into their schedule. Imagine making a decision after Thanksgiving to go ahead and then getting the job completely finished to enjoy our new yard in time for Christmas!

It turned out really nicely. They have a really good young designer and his partner named Jose and Tom. Those guys were really, really, good about listening to what we wanted and putting together a design that we really liked. They were also really good about following up and coming back out and when we had some frost damage to the plants they've been good about replacing them. It was great and we were really lucky because they're close to us, but I still think that would be the kind of service that they would give everybody. We had lots of bids and it was a super competitive price.

Provided a beautiful landscape design with color pictures of all of the plants. They also installed the drip system and even put pavers around my firepit at no charge. They then inspected and did some minor repairs on the front yard drip system, again at no charge.
