Description of Work: A very beautiful dining room table had been scratched, Furniture Medic came out and made it look like new again. I have used this company in the past and they never disappoint! I would highly recommend them for any kind of wood repair or restoration.

Description of Work: John at Furniture Medic was extremely helpful in repairing a broken wheel on an antique Tea Cart that belonged to my wife's grandmother. You cannot tell that the wheel has been repaired. It is a perfect match to the rest of the Tea Cart.

+ -1 moreI think they did a good job. They were careful. They had to move the table and turn it on its side. They brought one of their furniture mats, so that it wouldn't scratch the table. He had to go out twice to find the right hinge. In 50 years, things change. I think they're a little pricey. He was about an half hour late. He was polite. He told me what he was going to do.
Description of Work: I used Furniture Medic. I have an approximately 50-year-old solid maple table and the end pieces are hinged. On one end piece, two of the hinges broke. They had to personally come out and pick up the hinge. They went out to search for something close enough to it, so they could do the repair.

+ -1 moreThey made a small mistake with the picking up of furniture but they did fix that. The work was impeccable. They are very honest and he is an extremely ethical person. They are very nice people to work with and he even put up a couple of pictures for us. He tries to make the work as inexpensive as possible by seeing if he can do the work in your home before the removal. Chris is the owner and it was a pleasure to work with him. The employees were very hard workers and only took off for lunch.

+ -1 moreTHOUGH THE FURNITURE WAS "COMPLETED" AND DELIVERED ON THE DATE AGREED UPON, AFTER MUCH LATER TURNING THE CHAIRS OVER TO ATTACH THE UPHOLSTERED SEATS, IT WAS CLEAR THAT THE REFINISHING ONLY CONSISTED OF THE TOP OF THE CHAIR ARMS AND LADDER BACK RUNGS AND OTHER WOOD PIECES. THIS WAS AN OLD AND VERY FINE WOOD SET THAT HAD BEEN VERY NICELY FINISHED TO BEGIN WITH. THERE IS NOW A ROUGH SURFACE TO ALL OF THE "UNSEEN" WOOD PIECES EXCEPT ONE ARM OF ONE CAPTAIN'S CHAIR. WHEN I CALLED TO INQUIRE HOW WE COULD REMEDY THIS, THE MANAGER/OWNER, CHRIS, WAS RUDE AND INSULTING. HE MADE IT CLEAR THAT HE HAD NO INTEREST IN MY CONCERNS, THAT "IT DIDN'T SHOW," AND HE WOULD NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. HE SAID "HE WAS HOLDING ALL THE CARDS" AND I COULD COMPLAIN ALL I WANTED BUT HE DIDN'T PLAN TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS IS NOT AN ATTITUDE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED FROM ANYONE I'VE DEALT WITH ON THE LIST! I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WILL HAVE TO HAVE THE CHAIRS FIXED BY SOMEONE ELSE.
Description of Work: FURNITURE MEDIC PICKED UP SEVEN CHAIRS AND A DINING ROOM TABLE WITH THREE LEAVES, TO BE REFINISHED DURING THE TWO MONTH WE WERE REMODELING OUR HOME. THEY SENT SOMEONE WITH WHOM THEY WORK TO GIVE A SEPARATE ESTIMATE FOR THE UPHOLSTERED CHAIR SEATS, BUT SHE WAS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE AND WE WENT ELSEWHERE. THOUGH FURNITURE MEDIC WAS VERY EXPENSIVE, WE THOUGHT THE JOB WOULD BE EXCELLENT AND ACCEPTED THEIR BID FOR THE TABLE AND WOODEN PORTION OF THE CHAIRS. THEY CHARGED AN UNREFUNDABLE $75.00 FOR AN ESTIMATE (WHICH WOULD BE APPLIED IF YOU CHOSE TO HAVE THEM DO THE WORK...AND IF YOU REMINDED THEM THAT YOU HAD PAID THAT!); $120 PER CHAIR, $380 FOR A TABLE AND THREE LEAVES, AND $120 PICK-UP AND DELIVERY.

Description of Work: REPAIRED SEVERELY SCRATCHED COFFEE TABLE. SANDED DOWN TABLE TOP AND APPLIED MATCHING FINISH TO COVER SCRATCHES.
