Donley A/C & Plumbing

I had an outstanding experience with Donley. We had both of our water heaters corrode and leak within 4 months of each other. (We had inherited these water heaters from previous owners.) We called Donley both times. They came within 30 minutes of the phone call to take care of the leaks! They then replaced both heaters at no charge because they were still under manufacturer's warranty. In fact, for the second heater the manufacturer resisted honoring the warranty, but Donley pushed back on our behalf and then further absorbed some of the labor costs because they thought the warranty had to be honored in full! Throughout all this they maintained outstanding communication with me and the restoration company for. I could not be happier with the experience. Special thanks to Anthony.

I have a rental house in Scottsdale and I live in CT. I got an urgent call from the tenant that there was an electrical fire smell in the water heater cabinet. I called Donley and within a few hours they had someone out to take a look. The technician was able to assess that the water heater was fine, but we needed an electrician to deal with the wires to the water heater itself. I am so impressed that Donley was so responsive and the assessment cost me nothing. The quick response and the free assessment will assure that I will certainly use them again when we have a need in the future.

They were very prompt and efficient in sending someone out to the property to assess the problem. Technitian found out the problem was a broken thermostat. Thermostat needed to be replaced. I did not do the work with them because I thought the price was expensive. Service call is $79 and I had a coupon for $35 so I paid $44 for the service call.

Jose and Jerry explained everything about my unit and its needs in a very professional, easy to understand, structured and complete manner. They appeared to thoroughly inspect and do maintenance on my Trane unit. They then reviewed with me the issues which needed attention. Due to my budget I approved of the two most important priority items today which were the resealing of roof and replacing the electrical seal tight. Jose noted Donley also does plumbing and checked out my hot water tank which was fine. Due to my confidence in today's work done by Jose and Jerry, I plan to use Donley Service Center in the future.

I was extremely pleased with Donley Service from initial contact to job completion. The Technician Ryan Utsler was very knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to offer alternatives, the rationale for each and expectations. Value for money was quite obvious from beginning to end result. I also agreed an Annual Maintenance Agreement based upon the service received and the obvious quality delivered..

I'm having some troubles with the air conditioner they installed. It really hasn't lowered my cooling bill the way it should.

Walter was helpful and friendly. Walter quickly realized put problem was the anode so he flushed the water out of the tank and put in a new anode.

It worked out fine. When he arrived he the house was 94 degrees inside and now it feels a lot better.

I have a contract with them. I have been with them for quite a few years. I have had super service with them. They come twice, once in the fall to check the heater and once in the spring to check my refrigeration. The reason I started with them is because they were featured on 60 minutes or something like that. They did a minor thing on a refrigeration unit and they called out like three companies. Donley was the only one that said there was a minor problem. They fixed it and there was no charge. The other two companies tried to tell them that there were all these things wrong with the refrigerating unit. They got a really high rating from the Better Business Bureau. I think they are very honest and is why I use them. They do quite a check. When they come they are here for over an hour. They list everything they have done to the condenser like if they washed it, or inspected. They give you this long list of everything they do. They have to go up under the roof because the blower is there and that is where my heater is. It is pretty warm even in March when they have to go up there and check. They always call and tell me they are on their way and how long it will take them to get to my house. I make the appointment with them but the service man calls me to tell me he is on his way the day of the service.

He tried to see if he could unclog it just by taking the trap and all that apart. He checked all that to see if he could take care of it. Apparently, it was blocked somewhere else. They always give you a 90 day warranty after they do the work.

Service has been excellent. The Service Center calls day before to confirm appointment. The technicians arrived on time and was polite and careful when inside house accessing attic space. They explained all that was done and them e-mailed copy of service report. Have had no problems with AC/heater units. I tried them for one year maintenance contract and was completely satisfied. Ten renewed for three year contract

I was referred to Donley Service by a friend. My A/C system shut down completely due to a cracked primary drain pan. The water drained into the secondary pan and activated the safety shut-off switch. The system is in the attic and the secondary pan was installed without an outside drain, so the technician had to manually drain the pan using a shop vac. Juan was very pleasant and professional and explained what he was doing and took excellent photos of the cracked pan. We discussed how the plastic pan could have gotten cracked and concluded another technician from company B stepped on it in April doing preventive maintenance and didn't say anything. Unfortunately the system was installed in a bad location and is very difficult to work on. Juan followed up with a quote on what it would cost to replace the pan ($$$) and recommended I contact the company that installed it since it was still under warranty. I followed his advice and did have the original installer fix the system. However, I would definitely recommend Donley Service and would contact them first for any future repairs or service. Their prices are reasonable and Juan provided excellent service.

Donley came out to do my Pre Summer HVAC tuneup on my rooftop unit. Unit was tested and all mechanical parts were in good working order. Did find that there was some debris in the drain pain and that the indoor coil was dirty. Offered to clean both the coil and drain pain for a very reasonable price. Unit is working perfectly.

If you have a contract, then you got a 10% discount on any kind of plumbing repair. They're very professional and it's a very honest company, they do a good work. They're not the cheapest, but they're reasonable.

I don't know or remember

It went well this time. In fact, generally over the past four or five years, the technicians have been excellent, efficient, polite. However, I would like to put this review in context. Before this most recent visit and most of the others over the past five years, I was annoyed by the fact that, even though they were clearly technically competent, the technicians generally were trying to sell me something rather than simply doing what they were supposed to be doing. That all changed for the better, except for one technician named Sammy, who came out a few years ago and proceeded to try to sell me a thermostat I knew I didn't need as well as things I wasn't sure about but couldn't really argue about because I couldn't understand the gauges he was using to show me how much I needed whatever services/repairs he was trying to sell me. I sent an unhappy review to Donley, and Mike Donley called me to apologize and said the company would extend my 3-year home comfort plan for an additional year. I was very happy with that response until the next time someone came out from Donley, and again, it was Sammy, who yet again commented that my thermostat still wasn't working right ( he had just walked in the door and hadn't even checked the thermostat). Since then, I have renewed my comfort plan on a yearly basis rather than for the three-year plan I have always had. They are on trial, as far as I am concerned. But the last two technicians have been excellent, perhaps the best I have ever had. And as long as Sammy doesn't show up again, I will probably renew next year for three years.

I have an annual service contract for maintenance. It's $300 for a year. What stood out about them was that they were punctual, knowledgeable and that they were upfront about pricing. They're not the cheapest in town.

I have been a customer with them for about 20 years now. The technicians have all been great.
