I started corresponding with Don via telephone then we switched to emails. Don sent me all the infofmation I needed to understand the land surveying process and his fees. I signed a work contract and scanned a copy to him. This was the 6th of May....then we met May 14 and Don gave me the completed original drawing of my land that he surveyed. I then pain Don and that was it. Very easy and simple for me, thank you Don.

WARNING! Do not use Don E. Petersen for any surveying you may need, be it residential or commercial. He is a liar, a thief, and definitely not a knowledgeable surveyor. I hired him to perform a boundary/topo, a topo being a topographical survey. He completed the survey, and I paid him cash for his work. He gave me the plans for the boundary, and what he claimed was the topo, however, there was no topographical data on the plans. I asked that he send the Autocad file to me so I could forward it to my engineer, who is also my father, who is now retired but owned an engineering and land-surveying firm for more than 30 years. When I opened the file there was no topographical data, although the plan was clearly named a ?topo?. When I asked Mr. Petersen to complete the project I had hired and paid him to do, he said he could at an additional fee! When I explained to him that was not what we agreed upon, he said to do whatever I felt I needed to do! My father, who has spent his entire life in this field, has never heard of a ?registered? land surveyor not knowing what a topo was. I will be filing a formal complaint with the State Board on Monday, but I wanted to forewarn everyone, whatever you do, DO NOT HIRE DON E. PETERSEN! This thief?s info is as follows: Don E.
