Desert Mountain Electric LLC

Jay, the owner of this electrical company just came out very early this morning, on time and with a smile on his face. I needed two very high smoking detectors replaced and several lights that needed new bulbs. I also had two automatic dimmers that were not working checked and fixed. Jay went to the store to get the right bulbs, the smoke detectors and even a ladder high enough to reach the detectors. He spent about two hours. He was quite knowledgeable and got things done in a jiffy. Great price and great work. Thanks, Jay, lovely to have you!

From beginning to end I was VERY pleased with the professionalism, friendliness, knowledge, and timeliness of Desert Mountain Electric. I found it quite easy to schedule an appointment. The electrician, Troy was supposed to arrive rather early on a Monday. He got delayed by traffic somewhat, but called prior to the appointment time to inform me that he would be delayed by about 15 minutes. Personally I think that is impressive. I've had contractors that were delayed by hours and I never received a call or update. Troy did the work that I asked for, as well as give me ideas about electrical projects I've been thinking about. It went it so well, that I've had him come back to do additional work. And to top it all off, Troy is a veteran. That, as well as the quality of his work, makes it a no brainer for me to hire this company in the future.

Bought the AL deal over the weekend and Desert Mountain contacted us right away. Actually came out to do the work on Monday ! The Electrician was very nice, professional and did a good job. We had purchased the AL deal to have a fan box installed on our patio but he felt like it would require a lot of "fact finding" holes to be made in the patio roof, house stucco and possibly interior wall. We were fearful to proceed as we did not want to be patching holes without knowing if the job could even be done properly. We had him install an outlet on the patio which he did very quickly, leaving us an hour of time left on our "deal". We used as much of that time as we could, having him replace outlets that were bad, installing an outlet in our garage, etc. The cost of supplies was an additional $30. The reason we gave a B rating on Quality was because there was some "fact finding" holes done in our interior wall which ended up not really being necessary and left us with patch work to do. The B for Price was because the original AL deal pricing was great....IF we would have been able to do the bigger job we had bought it for and intended, the fan box, but just to have a few outlets/switches installed plus the additional cost for supplies, this decreased the value we felt we originally were getting. We would still use Desert Mountain again but will try to communicate with them prior to be sure the job/time would be worth the cost. Larry & Vicki Scates

It was excellent. We are always cautious about selecting a good company and apprehensive about quality and cost, when I got the quote I was pleasantly surprised and felt relieved that I can finally get all the lighting needs met in my house. The whole experience was awesome. they had two men work the entire day to run all the wiring and installation completed. I was planning to get part of the work performed myself but when I got quote I decided to get everything done professionally.

It was just weird. I initially called to have the previous deal from them which was an electrical panel check up and so forth but when I talked to the guy directly I told him the city told us there are at least some wires in our panel and he said you sound like you really need a two hour check up and we are starting that offer tomorrow and I said okay that's fine with me. He came out and he was able to tighten it like he was literally here five minutes and he came to join us, I'm all done and I said, "Really." and so I felt I paid $99 for nothing basically. So I said, what other deals would you have made for me if I had taken the other deal and he said you can get a whole house surge protector done for extra. And I said what would that be if I had taken the other deal and added that on and he said, for $200 or more and the $99, I can get a whole surge protector. I felt like he came out for nothing and didn't do anything accomplished. So we made an agreement that if I had paid $200 more he would go ahead and whole home surge protector which I've been wanting to do for a long time. I don't think I got a great deal on the price because of the amount $300 anyway, but I felt like at least while he was here rather than just tighten the box and walk away in five minutes. Anyway he didn't do anything weird, it's just kind of how the whole thing turned out. So it didn't make me happy is all I can say and I don't think i got a deal or anything. I think I paid what everybody else pays, around 300 bucks for a surge protector done.

He arrived promptly and went right to work - since I told them what was needed, he had the parts! It took just minutes to replace the breaker and he didn't mind that I watched - insatiable curiosity. The GFIs took some time, but mostly because the original pool building didn't do it right when they build the pool and spa. He did a great job of fixing it the way it out to be fixed. I would use Desert Mountain Electrical for any work.

I purchased the deal, but then we sold our home so we didn’t end up needing the Big Deal. They came out when they said they were going to, but their follow up was a little bit lacking. Basically, once we stopped contacting them that was it. There seemed to be a lack of communication amongst those in the company. I feel that Angie’s List members receive different service. They have a whole separate team dedicated to the Big Deals so if I were to considering hire them again I wouldn’t go through Angie’s List.

Todd's daughter was in the hospital so we had to reschedule a month later. Todd offered for $275.00 to upgrade the lights to LEDs. I paid an additionall $275.00 above the deal I got on Angie's List for 4 recessed lights. Since the lights were in the kitchen, I declined the dimmer switch. I went with LEDs since my husband was concerned about fire hazards from traditional lights. All together I paid $640.00. Todd installed the 4 lights within an hour since my husband prepped the site by exposing the wiring. He just cut 4 holes in the ceiling.

I have only one day a week where I am at home and they were able to accommodate me. The service was great. I purchased four LED lights through them and they installed them. They were punctual, quick and informative about the service.

The job went well and they left no mess.

Troy Laky the Co-owner arrived on time. He called the day before to confirm. He was very profession, courteous, and clean. He removed the existing ceiling fan, assembled and installed the ceiling fan that we provided. I will continue to contact Desert Mountain Electric for all future electrical needs.

Service was good, and I plan on having them back.

Desert Mountain Electric is an A+ company from estimate to install. Jay (owner) provided on the spot quote and answered all my questions. He even helped locate my unknown breaker and didn't charge me. His crew was fantastic, very thorough and detail oriented. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Will be calling again for additional electrical work on garage & bathrooms.

Jay the owner personally came to our home just before Xmas. A franchise electrical company in Phoenix did some work prior. We were unhappy with the outcome after spending $1400, over a few weeks and 4 actual visits to our home. Our situation was worse instead of better. Jay's company tried to resolve some of the issues the other company was unable to fix. Desert Mountain Electric provided an estimate that we felt was fair. Our budget does not allow for more work to be done at this time. We would definitely hire this company again.

They did a really good job. They came out right away after I called them. The electrician was very professional. They got the job done in less than 2 hours.

They were wonderful. Highly recommended.

Initial contact was incredibly quick. We scheduled appointment and he was right on time. Inspected electrical service and offered suggestions to repair / upgrade current service panel without total replacement, but offered that as best solution too. Found best alternative within budget. We will have work completed, but not yet scheduled.

Troy arrived as scheduled and promptly addressed all the issues I had requested as well as one additional outlet. He walked me through testing all before he left. Before he came he asked me what equipment I would have for him so he knew what to bring. He suggested that I could save money by purchasing the outlets that were standard from a big box store rather than him. I appreciate all suggestions to save!

Great... Look way better and for some reason the light from the LED is better.

Electrician's name was John. Professional, no problems.

Jay worked with Home Automation Systems to calibrate the current electrical system and add new components to the media room. it Was a big job but Jay and Home Automation worked well together to provide me with what needed. In addition, they were working on a deadline: a surprise birthday party and Jay and his team did a great job.

The chandelier required additional support. Jay did an excellent job preparing the site for a heavy chandelier. He isolated the problem with the canned lights and fixed those too. Jay is just a great guy. Easy going and accommodating.

Jay and his partner Troy came out and hung a chandelier for me that matches the existing one. This was attempted a couple of months ago and we found out that not all of the parts were available. The guys did not charge me for coming out. This time, with all pieces in tact, they hung up the chandelier.

It went very well. I am going to use them as my electrician from now on.

Very well. They were about 3 hours late due to another job, but that wasn't a big deal for us as long as it was done that day. They covered everything in the room before performing the job. Communicated what they could and could not do and we agreed upon everything before they began working. Before they cut where the lights would be they had me verify I liked the position. They did a great job and had the living room looking better than they found it when there were done. We are very happy with the job they did.
