+ -1 moreThe price was for a couple of hours of labor. They just replaced the middle panel. I then had to paint it. My experience with them was not great. I didn’t make a big deal out of it, but I wasn’t impressed. I got the thing back. It didn’t look like it was ready to be painted. It wasn’t sanded. It was kind of like they punched the panel out. It was torn up a little bit. It was kind of like a hack job. They had just banged it out in about five minutes. They should have taken their time and done a better job.
Description of Work: I got the Angieslist Big Deal for Chris Custom Cabinets to fix a cabinet door probably in July.

Water had gotten into the wood which is near the corner of the roof and rotted the area and he replaced that wood. I thought it looked very professional and good. I would use him again.

Description of Work: Chris and his crew are amazing. We were remodeling our kitchen and came up with a couple of new ideas that took some real teamwork on the part of Chris and our other contractors. First, we decided to remove a built-in desk that was a "clutter collector and replace it with a bar, liquor cabinet and built-in wine cooler. The liquor cabinet, per his suggestion, has beautiful custom-made glass inserts. Second, we decided to add a raised bar to our long kitchen peninsula. We had to have granite shaved off, a "pony wall" built and then encased in cabinetry and topped off with the granite bar. Chris did all the cabinet work associated with both of these projects. Not only is his work beautiful and very high quality, he coordinated it with our drywall guy, our cabinet refinishing guy, our granite guy, our appliance supplier and the glass manufacturer. I was amazed at the price for all of this work. Chris was punctual, knowledgeable, polite and meticulous. The guys that work for him are super. He even came over several weeks after the main work was done to help us with one last-minute little bit of wood-cutting work that needed to be done before the copper bartop could be installed, and did not charge us for this work. I think Chris's Cabinets may be the best contractor that has ever done work for us, and that is saying something. We have had a lot of work done on this house by a lot of very high quality contractors. Thank you, Chris! You deserve every Page of Happiness recognition you get!

+ 0 moreChris Olsen returned my initial call immediately and set an appointment to discuss our needs. We wanted new storage in our breakfast room and Chris was designed a unit to match our existing cabinets on the spot. He was great at working with us to provide the best option to fit in our space, and promptly changed design and size of the unit once or twice in response to my concerns. Chris also suggested the best size and location for garage cabinets. Everything was built to specifications and installed promptly, including our custom cabinet which was delivered ahead of schedule. We enjoyed working with Chris and intend to hire him again when we need custom cabinetry.
Description of Work: Chris Olsen designed and built a storage cabinet to match existing smaller cabinets in our breakfast room. He also installed storage in our garage to fit above and on the side of a washer and dryer to give the area a finished look and provide needed storage.

+ 0 moreI worked with 4 bids and chose mainly for quality workmanship. Overall we are extremely happy with the results. The project was completed on time, with a very reasonable production time. Quality of wood cabinetry and hardware is top notch. One problem occurred in the installation process when there was a misunderstanding between what we ordered and the hardware the shop used on the interior of the lateral file drawers. The problem was reported immediately to Chris and was resolved within 48 hours. Mistakes do happen, and I was initially alarmed at the failure of the hardware, but Chris is very concerned about quality and resolved the problem.
Description of Work: Custom built cabinets, 8 ft high, in a home office. Specificaly: Fourteen lateral file drawers, three vertical files, 7 sets of cabinet doors, three sections of adjustable bookcases, 10 ft long desktop with pullout keyboard and two "pencil" drawers. The overall cost was more than we originally budgeted but the quality is excellent.

+ 0 moreChris is very responsive, polite and helpful. He had us come down to his shop to show us our choices and provided great ideas and feedback as we asked for it. I can see why he has been in business for 30 years and gets such great reviews. His price was competitive with our other bids but his personality and customer service completely topped what we experienced with the other companies in the bidding process. The vanity came out great and the color was matched to exactly what we wanted. He showed up to help install the vanity and let one of his assistants wrap everything up. His assistant was just as polite as Chris and we couldn't be more pleased with how everything turned out.
Description of Work: We had Chris build us a custom l-shape vanity for our master bathroom.

Looked at the area, and asked what I was storing, and made recommendations as to the layout, shelves, etc. Offered different depth options and I chose the larger to ensure plastic tubs wouldn't protrude and doors wouldn't close. Provided samples of cabinet material and finish. Crew arrived at 7:00am for installation with tools and materials and were done by Noon. Cabinets were as expected, and garage area was free of any debris from installation. Chris was very professional and did exactly what he said he would do for the price agreed upon in the estimate.
Description of Work: Installed 16 feet of garage cabinets in my garage.

+ 0 moreI reached Paula Moore easily by phone and she quickly scheduled the designer Kathy de Coster and she was on time for the appointment. She considered all my ideas, requests, and made excellent suggestions. I was leaning toward white painted bookcases and a desk with file drawers. She let me know that it would be cheaper and more attractive to go with a wood stain and that alder was the least expensive wood. She promised me drawings and draft design with ten days to a week. I did have to call to remind her about the drawings; she got them to me immediately after that. She answered all my questions, was quite helpful in selecting cabinet doors, and letting me know what I needed to get. She said I would have delivery in 16 weeks and they made the date. Installation was done promptly and beautifully. The bookcases and cabinets are gorgeous and make the room. I will use this company again.
Description of Work: They designed, built and installed four built-in bookcases with a corner desk with file drawers and cabinets.
