Chip Off The Old Block

Excellent. There were a few other weeks in the yard, and the technician got rid of them, which was not a part of the agreement. I call that going above and beyond.

Contacted Chip Off the Old Block. Explained what I needed and they sent rep out the next day for an estimate. Explained what he thought needed to be done and what the cost would be. Was able to complete worked the next day. Have used other tree services but I felt this company was up front with their estimate and reasonable.

The men did a great job of cutting out all the dead branches and trimming the rest of the tree! They were most mindful of what I felt needed to be done and did a thorough clean-up when the job was done.

They were very professional, the owner knew everything about trees, they left firewood for me and they did a great job cleaning up. They even cleaned up the neighbors yard. We were very impressed with the entire crew, and my trees thank them. :)

The arborist came to perform the estimate. He was on time and professional. He was knowledgeable. They were very responsive about getting out quickly to do the estimate. The crew came a few days later, they worked around our schedule very easily. The lead man on the crew was very good, he asked questions, confirmed what the arborist had outlined. They did a good job on the tree, they also cleaned up without missing anything of consequence. The price was very reasonable for the amount of work done. We will definitely use them in the future.

The only problem was that they had a big job on Monday and no one bothered to contact me. I had to call them and they came at 7:15 the next day. It wasn't a problem for me.

It went great. they came cut the parts that needed to be done, cleaned up, did great job.

Chip off the Old Block was great to work with. Their Arborist was very knowledgeable and promptly came out to quote my 'situation.' The micro-burst that came through my neighborhood caused my large sissoo tree to lean toward my neighbor's house. Understanding the urgency of the situation, they came out the same day to remove the tree. Since they were coming anyway, I had them take care of the two other issues I needed to get done anyway. The clean up was great, my yard was left spotless. Their original quote for the tree removal was nearly a match for 2 other tree service companies I had come out. However, their tree trimming quote was significantly higher. They worked with me on the price, and did a fantastic job. The trimming of the large sissoo was fantastic, and I am not sure if the other providers quoting that job would have performed it as well. I would definitely use them again, and highly recommend them.

I met with Jack H. to get and estimate for a tree pruning on a Wed. after noon and by 10 a.m. the following day the work was done and done very well too. The price was better than I was expecting. A 3 man crew did a very nice overall job including the clean-up at the end, I will use them again and would recommend them to anyone.

I came across A chip off the block from a flier they sent out. It was a quality made flier and stated they were ASA certified. I called them up and had them give me a quote along with a couple other companies. Their customer service from the initial call was friendly and they let me know a time frame they would come out to give a quote. I requested the person giving the estimate give me a call when they came out. Dante was the person who came out. He gave me a call (Since I wasn't able to get out of work) and we discussed everything that was truly needed and went over some options. I felt like he gave me a true low down of items needed and not a bunch of extras he was trying to shove on me. I appreciated that. We agreed on what we needed and setup a time for them to come out. One person came out to do the deep fertilization. he rang the bell, I came out, he gave me details of what he was doing, why he was there, and let me know the other crew would be out later. Then Gabriel and his crew came out to trim the trees. As I know very little than my basic research from the internet about pruning and yard care, he was nice enough to answer a plethora of questions I had for him. He wasn't condescending and didn't rush me. Their crew made sure to cover our lights on our pillars so they would not be broken from a falling branch. They also made sure to do a thorough job on cleaning up the yard afterward. When finished, Gabriel reviewed all the work with me to make sure everything was up to my satisfaction before leaving. Before choosing them, I researched their reviews and got multiple estimates. Their prices were great, no bologna up-sales, and I'm glad I listened to the positive reviews. They were fast and friendly and I would work with them again!

I called to get someone out ASAP to get rid of a tree that was holding up a utilities job I was doing at my house. ABC sent someone out the same day to give an estimate and we scheduled the job for the next day. They called me the next morning to tell me they were short handed because someone had called in sick, but promised to get it done first thing the next morning. They came bright and early the next day and performed the work and did cleanup.

This is the second time we have used Chip. Both times, the estimator came on time and offered a fair price. Both times, the office called on the scheduled day with an ETA for the laborers, and they arrived on time. They did the job quickly, cleaned up well, and were courteous. We will use Chip from now on!

We are absolutely thrilled with the work that was done. The tall palm trees we have were trimmed and look fantastic. They also trimmed a 'bushy' palm tree and we had no idea what it could look like. It has opened up our backyard so much. Not only was the work done quickly but they cleaned up and the yard looks better than before they started.

Dante responded quickly to my request for an estimate. He met me at the house and we walked the property while I explained what I wanted (and didn't want). He gave me an estimate that was a bit more than the least expensive but well under the most expensive and assured me they could get it done whenever it was convenient. I confirmed with him a couple days later and on the day the work was to be done his crew was at my home early and ready to go to work. It was brutally hot (110+) that day but the crew was diligent and professional. They did a great job trimming the trees while still maintaining the shape of several that are crucial to the overall landscape which is something I really appreciate. They were done by 4:30 pm at which point they cleaned up thoroughly before they left. I am very satisfied with the service.

A huge tree in front of the house close to the patio and entrance was cut down about 18 months ago, growth was getting hazardous to the roof. Several months after the tree was removed, there was regrowth of the tree leaves around the stumps and it seems the roots were beginning to increase the cracks around the patio tiles. This was our first call for service after joining Angie's list. The vendor was very prompt on the phone as well as on their visit. The work was performed on the same day, estimate given in the am and the work done in the early afternoon. We are happy with the work and will follow up with them if there is growth around the stump grind down in the area where a small piece was not possible to grind down since it was too close to a palm tree trunk. Thus far, will not hesitate to use this provider and would recommend them for their professionalism from the initial phone call to completion of work.

Found this company on Angie's List and decided to get an estimate. They are licensed, bonded and have a General Contractors License so I made an appointment by phone Thursday afternoon and was told someone would stop by Friday between 8 and 11 AM. Jack stopped by early Friday morning, somewhere around 8 or 8:30. He examined the unwanted tree and indicated they could be by the next day. Price was for tree removal and haul away and poisoning the stump. Would have preferred to have stump removed as well but was too close to 2 walls meeting next to it. Grinding wasn't practical so we had to poison the stump. Was notified early Saturday morning by phone that the crew would be by between 1:30 and 3 PM to remove the tree. They arrived somewhere around 2:45 and 3. It was a 4 man crew who seemed to have worked well together and the few that I spoke with were very polite and friendly. They had the tree removed and run through a wood chipper, the area was well cleaned of debris and the stump poisoned with 30 minutes, possibly less. I was very pleased with the professional and prompt attention that was given by all employees that we encountered with this company. We have many more trees on our property that will need trimming this fall and I intended to use them again.

They responded right away and scheduled the estimate. Jack Herndon was neat, clean and wore a badge that I guess was supposed to identify him as the arborist. Once I accepted the quote, I was scheduled for the next week. The guys that cut down the tree came right away. The next crew came later in the afternoon but at one point, I wondered if they were going to come at all. But they did and worked very fast. They did not trim my oleanders as I expected but after I explained what I wanted, they took care of it. They cleaned up perfectly. The only issue I had was only one guy spoke English and had to be the interpreter.

We were able to make an appointment with an arborist for the day after our first call. The teams arrived on time. They were professional, efficient, and answered all of our questions. When the trimming was performed, they cleaned up and mulched all of the debris onsite. The trees look great, and we'll have Chip Off The Old Block back again!

Of the three tree estimates I received this was the best price for the work. The gentleman that did the estimate was kind to the trees/plants and talked me in to keeping a few more bushes. They scheduled quickly and got the work done fast. My only complaint is that wood chips ended up in the pool. I'm not sure it could have been avoided but it made for a messy clean-up. They had a team of about four guys working on the grinder, the tree trimming and stump grinding. When I did ask them to blow a little more of the leaves out they did it willingly. It was a lot of work and a very fair price for that work. Thanks.

They showed up for the estimate and walked through my yard making recommendations and listening to what I said. At the end , we went over the agreed upon work and a price was quoted. The price seemed a little high but I was impresses with the expertise shown so I scheduled the work. There were two crews. The first trimmed the trees and the second came later for the deep feeding. Each crew walked the property before doing the work and made sure we both had the same understanding of the work to be performed. When the jobs were complete, they also walked the property with me and had me approve of the work. They did a very nice job and I was pleased to cut the checks.

They did a great job. Set up an appointment within one week of the estimate. Came when they said they would and got the job done as they described.

Found this companies name and reviews in Angie's List. Called to get an onsite assessment of the work needed and an estimate of price. They responded quickly to my call and came out the next day to evaluate the work and provide an estimate. The crew arrived on-time on the morning scheduled. Work and clean-up was completed within the time frame estimated by Jack Herndon owner and estimator.

It was a lot of work and there was a lot for them to haul away. I knew it was going to be expensive and they were able to break the cost up into payments. We were very happy with them, they did a great job.
