CHALLENGE MINI MIX

I set up with Bobbie-Jo (the troll at the gate), to receive a simple delivery of "left-over" concrete to be delivered several days later from my initial call. That delivery would have been around $100, for appx. 30 sq. ft. of mixed concrete (I was to do the finish work myself). That morning arrived...no truck. As noon approached, I called Bobbie-Jo. I had just gotten my name out when the phone "went dead". I called back repeatedly, only to get the company answering machine. Since this job pour was urgent (as a/c units were being installed on that pad later in the day), my wife scrambled to get another mini-mix company to do the job, also telling the guy that Challenge left us in the lurch. He said "oh, we know that outfit...they do this all the time. She probably got a bigger job, and replaced yours with another one". This other company came to our rescue and all turned out o.k...no thanks to Challenge Mini-mix. Interestingly, Bobbie-Jo called well into the afternoon on her CELL PHONE to say they weren't coming out, BECAUSE THEY WERE HAVING PHONE PROBLEMS AT WORK AND COULDN'T CALL OUT! Hmmm, you can call out LATER, on a cell phone, but not earlier in the day to apprise the customer of whatever problems you want to lie about.
