This is a family-run business and you truly deal with the family. Son Kirk handled initial decision-making and ideas and his father Norm came after for measurements and some final decisions. Unfortunately there was a family emergency before the job started so there was a little back and forth on the phone for scheduling and lots of help from Andrea in the office with decisions needed along the way. After all that, the different crews came on schedule and finished on schedule. All were very professional and we loved the final look of each of their jobs. Brian was amazing with the cabinet install with great attention to detail. Each professional Canyon Cabinets used was very patient and complied with any special request. We love the outcome of our beautiful kitchen! Unfortunately it still doesn't clean itself!

We needed a kitchen pull out drawer repaired or replaced after the face fell off the front of the drawer box. Canyon Kitchen Cabinets were relatively close, and indicated they could help out. Upon taking the drawer to their work site, the foreman told me he could repair it instead of having to order a new one (which saved us a couple of weeks, and some extra cost as well). Two days later the drawer was repaired. It looks and works as good as new, and most importantly, my wife is happy.

We are looking at a 50K remodel, mostly cosmetic. So, we had these folks come out for an estimate. Guy comes out, walks around, takes a few measurements and says we will have an estimate in a week. A week later, nothing. We call and email them for the estimate, nothing. Finally get a hold of someone, with a promise to call back that day. Did not happen. Finally, we get an "estimate" and it covered only about 25% of what we wanted done and was filled with errors. At first, I thought it was a joke. Plus, the prices were completely out of whack! This was, quite possibly, the worst estimate I have ever gotten for anything. It was late, wrong, and over priced! If you guys did not want the work, say so. Do not waste peoples time.
Description of Work: The provider wasted our time, that is what they did.

The original Contract price was $13969.00 is what my contract states. However; don't be fooled. They give you "allowances" for each piece of tile, fixtures, etc. I was shocked since I didn't know the prices of tile. They basically give you a "bare bones" prices of the cheapest thing out there. YOU are better off contracting each thing out yourself. Since that is what Canyon Kitchen Cabinets did. They hire out everyone to do "their" job. This job began on June 23, 2014 and it still is not finished as of Sept 1, 2014. The owner, Norm, informed me today that he does not want to complete the job. Please understand that this job did not include moving plumbing, moving and taking down walls, or upgrading cabinets, or installing lights or new toilet, or new medicine cabinet. It was basic stuff: Tile surround in master shower, enclosed glass shower door, marble surround on tub, floor tile, and granite counter top with two new white basic sinks. The highlights: Paid $7,000. down They demo the bathroom. You are on their schedule to do things. Luckily I figured I was off that week and was told it would only take a month to complete the job. They had access to a key to my house until July 20th, that was almost a month. Plumber had to come four times, and then the owner came himself to fix a error that the plumber did as it was put in backwards in the shower and then he had to redo what he did twice since the water wouldn't get hot. The sink was put in crooked so they had to come back out and break it out because the granite was already sealed on top. They no showed for contractors for three days in a row that nothing got done. Then that same week on Saturday their hired helped named Carlos, and his helper walked off the job because when they were installing the tile on the tub, I said that the piece was drastically different than the other one next to it. One piece looked darkish brown the other looked whiter. Even after I told him that these pieces looked good and I wanted the pieces to at least match in the front so they look similar, he still put what he wanted to put in its place. So because I didn't like something that I am paying good money for, they quit. Now at this point the owner was even furious that they just walked off and tried to talk to them but they just said contact their boss. (So this is what you have to deal with because it is a Contractor hiring another Contractor and they don't have any control over them because it is not their employees). Canyon Kitchen Cabinets will say that it was me being picky but it wasn't. Even the tile guys that they had installing this marble tile that by the way the Owner picked out for me and chose for me to buy that cost me extra $$$$ so now it is my fault and problem that there are issues with the tile that was purchased from a local big tile company here in ARIZONA. So, the OWNER kept telling me himself that the tile wasnt good and that he would look to change them out. Once again, Carlos came back to fix the tile that the owner broke. Now, the Owner wanted to save money and not have the plumber come back because they had already came to the house so many other times for other issues, like when Kerry the assistant had them come out but the faucet handles were not there yet but the valves were. So once again, this becomes my issue and my fault because we had ordered upgraded fixtures according to them. So my question has always been, why did they schedule the plumber to come out knowing this??? Over the course of time, it has been that this company is family owned, and they all act like they don't talk to one another and they probably do but blame ignorance. All the way down to the sales person which is their son. Even the owner Norm, would make comments that his son has got to stop quoting people like this because he had another lady doing the same thing I was doing. Meaning stating why I am I paying for this and that since it says in the contract valves included. Or that when I stated to him, that when I think of a fixture for a faucett I am not thinking I have to pay for the valves, or the attachment that goes with it or the elbow, etc.! None of this is explained in the contract. Then there were verbal agreements that were made, that they didn't keep, but I kept mine. There were also things in the contract that I wanted that I had to compromise on because I was told they couldn't do it or that it wouldn't look good doing it that way. Things were not explained very well by this company. I also had a boarder put in the shower, and it doesn't line up from corner to corner with the same pattern. There also was a tile chip in the corner edge of the tile floor on the ground and the tile guy puts it in an main walking path. When I question them on it I am told "that is what I get for getting close out material." I told them that I am trying to live within the parameters of your tile allotment in the contract. That is also the issue with this company, that what they quote for a price and what I told their son, the salesman, that I wanted travertine flooring and that I wanted a hand held shower with a diverter and travertine floor, and he quotes me $4.00 dollars a sqft. Well had I known that you cant buy that even at cost, then I would have known to ask for a higher amount. He even said," If it is a dollar here or there more not a big deal we will cover it. " That is not what happened. It is my fault for not being educated enough on tile install and purchasing of tile, and fixtures, and marble etc. That is why I hired someone else to do this bathroom job for me because I did not know. I am now wanting others like me to know the facts before they contract a COMPANY to do work for them. Don't be in a hurry, I was when I hired them. RESEARCH! Lastly, the tub once again is not finished. I was told by three of their own hired help that the tile purchased and picked out by the Owner, has cracks and cannot be used. The owner himself cracked two of my tiles as he had to remove them from being thin set because he didn't install the faucett gaskets correctly and couldn't get to the screws. So he tried to remove it gently but once again, because of the cracks the marble broke. So that is when I was here until 6pm last Tuesday night after the owner scavaged for tile people (and he even tried paying one of them money on the side) that the tile cut could not be done and it broke. The owner screamed so loud that I thought someone got hurt during the cutting of the tile. He was upset because the new tile broke again. So now the owner was apologetic and sorry and even though he told us earlier not to get upset he will get this done today, well it didn't. So I rearranged my schedule time with my son off from school and our plans to agree to have them come on Labor Day 2014. Once again late, and I thought the owner would show up. However; I looked on my front porch and there were four tiles in a box to my surprise because it wasn't there yesterday. I went through the box prior to anyone showing up and there was a defect in three out of the four tiles. So my hope was to use the one good piece by the faucet area for the tub, the second piece for the smaller edge of the tub. The tile guy showed up an hour and half after the scheduled time. I told him the situation with the tiles. He said he could not use but only two of the tiles. Of course one had the defect in the back where if you tapped just right that the marble would break if hit or something dropped on it. I even called the Owner and left a message about it. No response, ignored by Canyon Kitchen Cabinets. I told the tile guy not to use that piece, he said he couldn't because the other pieces were cracked on the back and he could not cut through them or they would break. I said okay as long as he didn't use that part of the tile where the defect is and he agreed. Well that did not happen and I told the tile guy not to install that piece and I will call Norm the Owner to see what we can do. Well Norm, called and spoke to the Contractor he hired and saw a picture of it. Their idea is just to thin-set it and it will be fine. Even though that tile is cracked and is the worse piece I have seen yet they wanted me to put it in, and Norm, said,"That tile get puts in or I walk of the job, and we will figure it out what you owe for the tile, and pay for what we have done." He also tried to switch it up and act like I refused to have them finish the job which was not true, I just did not like a piece of tile that is 1/8" inch away from cracking and take a chance of having issues later down the line. At this point they have been paid an agragate of $12, 736.00 dollars. $10,500.00 paid directly to them and this job has yet to be completed. I personally have paid $2100.00 for faucets and trim for the bathroom, plus the flooring in the shower of another $150.00 dollars, and now I will have to hire out for contract a licensed plumber, tile tradesman for cuts, materials of tile, grout, thin set, and sealing of tile floor, tub and repairing inside the tub by buffing out their marks and scratches from being inside the tub. This company still wants money from me but they didn't complete their job and the job has many errors and defects. This Company, Canyon Kitchen Cabinets needs to finish their job, stand by their work, and get good materials to complete the job. I personally believe there may be an issue with the tub for the plumbing with the handles that they won't fit or work correctly, and the owner knows it and therefore, they will have to go in and redo, and is why he is walking off the job for more issues created by their Company. I was expecting another day to reschedule and have the Owner see it as a picture cannot show the details which is what he saw. I was hoping to resolve this issue and get the job finished.

As this customer has stated we included specific dollar amounts for plumbing fixtures and tile which were clearly written and explained on the contract. The actual cost for items depends on what a person selects as there are many different brands & price points as well as distributors. What the customer chose exceeded her allowances. CKC made suggestions on fixtures within the allowance however she chose to stick with the more expensive items. There are also many less expensive tile options. This customer was credited when her tile selections came out to less than the allowance provided however she changed her mind on the tile the first day of install and had us return the less expensive one for a more expensive tile and therefore we could no longer provide the credit. Had we known what exact material she wanted in the beginning we could have given a larger allowance, which would have increased the contract price. Since the material was selected later we billed the customer for the difference. Either way she would have paid the same amount for those exact fixtures. In an effort to please this customer CKC extended additional allowances for her to afford the items she wanted. Unfortunately she was still unhappy that we were unable to completely bridge the gap another $1500 for her selections. In regard to scheduling, this project was arranged ahead of time to start on a specific date that the customer requested. We outlined the schedule for her on the phone and via email and repeatedly expressed the need for the fixtures to be selected prior to the plumber’s appointment however due to the customer delay in confirming, the trim pieces were not available to ensure correct alignment. Since the customer was on a tight timeline to move in we progressed with the shower remodel and put a hold on the tub until the trim pieces came in. The tile shower, bathroom floor & new countertop have all been completed at this point and are fully functioning. We have made several attempts to complete the tile on the tub area to no avail. The issue is not our refusal to complete the job or an inferior product. We did explain in the beginning that natural stone is a product of nature and therefore has different shadings and textures as well as fissures, chips, etc. It is imperfect but those variations and fissures are not “defects.” They are natural characteristics of stone. The disclaimer directly from the supplier states “there will be noticeable variations in color and movement between pieces, including color range and fill hole size. Therefore, it is important and recommended that a range of this product be viewed before finalizing a purchase. All travertine stones will have natural cavities or pits visible in the stone that were developed when carbon dioxide bubbles became trapped during the formation of the stone. Prior to honing, this travertine is filled with a mixture of colored cement and calcium carbonate to fill in these cavities. Due to varying climate conditions, the color of the fill can differ between shipments.” Despite this information she insisted that we should be able to find pieces that were the same color, and without pits, chips, or cracks. CKC requested the customer go to the supplier to hand select her own tiles since she wanted something so specific that varies from the nature of the stone however the customer refused. We returned her tiles and picked through the stocked tiles 5 times for the tub area and several other times for the bathroom floor to try to find tiles that met her expectations however the customer continues to reject the tile. There is 1 piece of tile for the tub top and 1 piece of tile that sits on this tile for the splash that have not been installed at this point. We have cut the tile and were ready to install when the customer refused to allow us due to not liking the appearance on the underside of the tile which goes into the thin set and is not visible despite the face of the tile being flawless. If she had allowed us to install these 2 tiles we would have completed her job which includes installing the trim on the tub faucet. There are no concerns with the functioning of the plumbing as it was tested at the time of install. It is not our desire to leave this job unfinished and if the customer is willing to select her own materials for her project we will complete the install of those 2 tiles.

We are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with our communication. We will certainly use this information to improve in the future. According to our records we came out 01/28/2014 for the initial appointment. The proposal was emailed to you on 02/07/14. On 02/10/14 you replied with a request to have the countertops removed from the estimate which was sent back to you the same day. I then see you requested the actual estimate form revised to eliminate the countertops and that was sent back to you the following day. 02/11/14. Again we do apologize for not following up with you after that last communication and will work on this with our future customers.

We were delighted by their professionalism, their engagement and their ability to manage a myriad of contractors and service people. This firm is grounded in doing things right and doing them well. From early conversations with Kirk, the estimator, to day-to-day communication with Pam and Kelly, the project went extremely smoothly. Norm dropped in regularly to review the work being done and made sure everything was done properly. When we had questions or concerns, someone from CKC took care of them the very same day...and always to our complete satisfaction. When we first began the process, we read that it was important to find a company you like and most important to find people in the company that you relate to and can trust. This is the firm! Everyone we talked with and worked with was polite, professional, and focused on doing a great job. Our kitchen is lovely, just lovely. We celebrate getting it done every day.
Description of Work: We asked CKC to take the kitchen back to bare bones. They had to raise the ceiling, move heating ducts, resurface the floors, install new cabinets, install new appliances, and new electrical connections.

Norm, Kirk and Pam have a wonderful team, and they all worked very well together and were great at communicating with me. Things may not always go according to plan with a large project, which this was, but no matter what, they always came through--whether by making schedule adjustments to accommodate me, revising some of the work, or making last minute changes. Their handiwork is first rate, they are careful to keep the work area clean and tidy, and the whole team is a pleasure to work with.

The resurfaced cabinets look fantastic!! We couldn't be happier with the quality of the work. We were very pleased with the installers who did the work. They were pleasant and hardworking and cleaned up at the end of each day. The installation of the countertop and s/s sinks went smoothly without any problems. Our only disappointment was on the last day of the job when the plumber scratched the new sinks while connecting the taps and hooking up the garbage disposal.

Overall the process worked very well. It was a good reference from Angie's list and the vendor performed above expectations.
Description of Work: Desctiption of work: Kitchen and laundry room cabinet construction and installation. Details: We purchased a new home and wanted to add to the existing cabinets. I selected Canyon Kitchen Cabinets from Angie's list and scheduled a site visit for a review of the job. A quote was created and I agreed to the price at that time. The cabinets were completed in the time frame originally stated, the communication about delivery and installation were acurate and complete and the over-all experience was excellent. I am especially pleased with the quality of the completed project and would gladly recommend this company to anyone looking for new cabinets.

They did a good job but the price was really high; they really stuck it to me on the price. Everyone was really nice but for the work that was done, it was pretty much on the high side. I liked all the people I dealt with. The owner was very nice; he came back to double check all the work. He also put up some molding that kind of needed to be done. I am very pleased with everything that they did but it still was a little pricey.

It was the best experience I could imagine and the best part is, whenever people see my kitchen, they say wow it is beautiful! Thank you Canyon Kitchen, I will be calling you again when it is time to do the bathrooms!
Description of Work: Canyon Kitchen did an excellent job from the customer service they provided in answering all my questions, the straightforward bid they gave me, the help they provided me in making decisions when I asked, all the wonderful people I dealt with, and the beautiful finished product! I went overboard and received 8 bids for my kitchen cabinets, so I didn't arrive at the decision quickly or easily. However, I felt with the amount of money I was spending I wanted to make sure I was getting quality, but yet a fair price. The quality of the cabinets is amazing, soft close drawers/cabinets, pull out shelves, half lazy-susan, pot drawers, garbage pull out cabinets, tip out tray, and cutting board cabinet, cherry wood, the glaze on the cabinets, and the beautiful fronts to the cabinets, these are all the specifics they did for me. There are so many reasons why I would encourage anyone to use Canyon Kitchen, but I will tell you, every other company I checked, charged extra for everything I just mentioned. Canyon Kitchen is a custom builder, so it isn't cookie cutter they build exactly what you select and in the exact color you want - (I provided my own or you can pick from their samples). It is a family owned business and so I liked that everyone was on the same page, you didn't have different people running it different ways. They are a class act from start to finish and customer service that would rival any business as being best in class.

Cabinets, counter tops, kitchen, and master bathroom wonderful, perfect and wow. They worked when they said, efficiently, professionally, and politely. I expected I would not be able to use my kitchen for a few weeks (restaurants here I come) only to have them set up a temporary sink so I was able to use my kitchen throughout the re modeling. One bathroom was always available for use. Only complaint was they installed the glass tile in spare bathroom amateurishly. Tile sticking out, not meeting smoothly and evenly at tub top, rough counter top, and a few broken tile used. I would use them again except for glass tile work.
Description of Work: Ripped out all old cabinets, sinks, bathtubs, etc. Installed custom ash cabinets in kitchen and spare bathroom, master bathroom cabinets. Large shower with tile and new plumbing and fixtures in master bathroom. Whirlpool tub with glass tile in spare bathroom with new plumbing. In kitchen and bathrooms new counter tops. Ceramic back splashes in kitchen.

They did an awesome job. I was very happy with the work. Prices were competitive and work was completed when promised.

The work was just fine. Everything turned out well and it was a good experience.
Description of Work: They made a custom cabinet for us. They also installed a stone vanity around the sink and did the plumbing work as well.

I was very impressed with Canyon Kitchen on the wonderful job they did on my kitchen. Everyone was professional from the workers to the back office. I knew who was showing up and when. They were always on schedule and if they were running a few minutes late, they would call me to let know they were a few minutes behind schedule. The workers were clean and never left a mess when they were done for the day. I had to add some additional work and they had no problem fitting the additional work into the schedule. I always received a timely response from the back office via phone or email. I will definitely give them an opportunity for additional work that I have scheduled for next year.and
Description of Work: Canyon Kitchen gutted my kitchen. Removed cabinets and countertops; replaced drywall; install cabinets and granite countertops; installed new sink; added recessed and pendent lights.

I have used them in the past. They did such a good job on my kitchen. I was going to have them redo my bathroom but the money came between me and my bathroom. They were very good. There were submissions about what I wanted and they gave me the prices based on what I had asked them to do. They quoted $14000. It was very expensive. We thought that we should discard our bathroom and start all over again. If we had gone ahead with the job, we might have had our bathroom done by now. However, we cannot start the job as it is the holiday season and I need my bathroom. I like their work and I know that they are efficient. The job involves plumbing and electrical work. It would be nice to work with people I know. I called them back and offered to pay entirely in cash. They did bring down the price but not as much as I wanted them to. He told me that he was doing well because people are not moving, they are remodeling. There is a great demand for them. He said that if people wanted the work done, they have to pay the price offered. He said that if one person does not get it done, there are others who would want to get the same work done at that price. That was the only negative thing about this company; the attitude that if I don’t get the work done for this price, I will not get a better price and if I do get it done, it is no big deal either. One other reason I called them was a hope that since I had used them before, they might give me a discount. However, that did not happen. It is a good company. I did not contact any other companies for this job.
Description of Work: Canyon Kitchen Cabinets LLC did my kitchen about 4 years ago. I got a quote from them to redo my bathroom in August.

They pretty much stayed on schedule. Two or three guys that worked were excellent when it came to explaining things and really being hard workers and doing their job. It’s a family-run business and their price is average.
Description of Work: I used Canyon Kitchen Cabinets to totally remodel our kitchen. They put new cabinets and countertops in, had a wall taken out, moved the washer-dryer to another room and put in new cabinets in the bathroom.
