Provider called back and said the job we wanted done was "too small for him". Suggested we call a handyman.
Description of Work: Called provider based on past review stating he removed a trash compactor, put in a pull out trash bin and matched cabinets.

Bill was prompt while providing good call follow-up given the busy holiday season. Our kitchen and bathrooms were completely transformed once the installation was complete. Our existing travertine floors actually look 10x better now that the cabinets have been replaced. We would highly recommend Bill and B D Cabinets LLC.
Description of Work: Our challenge was replacing old and worn cabinets without impacting granite counter tops that were still in good shape. Bill solution provided resurfacing and new cabinet doors for refacefor kitchen. two bathrooms and the laundry room. There was a total of 68 cabinet openings. Both our granite counter tops and the cabinets were in good condition, however they were dated. We needed to replace the cabinets the old worn. Bill’s refacing product was the perfect solution for our home.

Description of Work: We called B D Cabinets for an appointment to get a quotation, first spoke to a Bill, said he would call back and has never returned a callback. We do not have good feeling regarding Angies List rating system. Bill Gasta, 623-556-1394

Everything with B D Cabinets exceeded our expectations. Bill Diaz is an excellent craftsman. He doesn't come across as a business-savvy entrepreneur like some of the cabinet makers we interviewed nor does he really promote his knowledge (he is very experienced and knowledgeable), but he comes across as sincere and honest and talented, which is what you want in a cabinet-maker. He is a bit old fashioned in terms of technology, but he was able to send us links to some of his pieces on Craigs List so we could see examples of his work. If you bring Bill in for a quote, don't let his quiet manner deter you. Bill was responsive and stuck to the agreed-upon schedule and was flexible even when we had to delay the cabinet installation. He was also patient with us as we made changes during the process and he didn't try to nickel and dime us. His quote was very reasonable and he stuck to our budget and built the most beautiful cabinets in our kitchen (the doors and panels were designed to match our existing cabinets but are much more well crafted). He also used soft close hinges, which we don't even have on our other cabinets and didn't ask for, but which we love. He also stayed at our house for hours while we waited for the granite installers to show up (they were woefully delayed), so that he could properly install the posts under our new, larger slab and so that he could more easily install the pull-out in front of the sink on the island. He only complained once about the delay and in the nicest possible way. It was good Friday after all and he had other jobs to do. We're trying to figure out other jobs that he may be able to help with and would recommend him to anyone looking to reconfigure or build cabinets or built-ins from scratch.
Description of Work: Our kitchen is fairly new (circa 2007), but we wanted to expand our kitchen island. B D Cabinets built new, large storage cabinets for the back of our kitchen island/breakfast bar and added raised panels to the sides of our existing island cabinets and new matching panels to cover up an existing knee wall that we didn't want to have to demolish. We also added a base around the island and posts under the breakfast bar to make it look more like a piece of furniture. Bill also installed a pull-out in front of our sink and installed new crown moulding on our upper cabinets.

We didn't end up using the company because the cost, we did it ourselves. My son completely cleaned them and they look nice & clean. The price is too high.
Description of Work: They wanted to replace the cabinet doors, but I just wanted them refurbished.

I contacted Bill by phone and sent him a picture of the wall unit. He gave me an approximate cost based on the picture. We then made arrangements for him to come see the unit and confirm the scope of the work and the cost. Bill provided me with sample stain colors and encouraged me to go to Home Depot or Lowe?s to look at additional stains. Bill picked up the shelves in early December and delivered the finished product in early January. I am very pleased with the results, Bill did a great job and the wall unit is beautiful. I did have some lessons learned. Bill did encourage me to look at additional wood stain colors but I did not take his advice. I wish I had. I chose a stain from the samples he provided. All wood takes stain differently so the color is not quite what I expected/wanted. I should have asked to see the stain on a small/hidden portion of the shelves before he proceeded with the work. Bill kept me apprised of his progress throughout the process which I appreciated. However, the time line slipped more than once. He conveyed to me at one point the unit would be done before Christmas. While I was excited to get it back as soon as possible I wasn?t pushing a completion date. I did want to allow him sufficient time to do it right. It would have been better to give me a later date and deliver earlier rather than later.
Description of Work: My husband and I purchased a home that had a large wall unit with a white washed/pink finish and southwest accents. We wanted the southwest accents removed and the unit refinished in a more traditional wood stain.

The cabinets are beautiful and I'm very, very pleased with them. We had Bill strip and finish a wall unit and were very pleased with his work so we hired him to redo our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Because we wanted to keep the existing counter tops he advised we would have to reface the cabinets. The counter top would most likely get broken if we tried to replace the cabinets. The work included all new cabinet doors, drawers and drawer fronts. Because all wood takes stain differently I wanted to see the stain on a sample of the actual wood before we proceeded. I picked out a couple of stain colors from Lowes and Bill provided me with small pieces of the wood. Using these I made my own stain samples and felt very comfortable making the final selection. The job took longer than originally estimated. And the time line slipped more than once. Bill did keep me apprised of his progress through out the process.
Description of Work: Reface/refinish kitchen and bathroom cabinets.

I can't say enough about the quality of Bill's workmanship. He is truly a craftsman. Over the years we have dealt with a lot of contractors especially when we restored a 1903 Victorian in another state., but we were never able to find one that was good enough to be considered a Craftsman. When we hired Bill to do the work I knew I was asking a lot. We wanted a 1963 cabinet to match our existing ones with a mid century style glass china cabinet over the top of it. A table height bar counter to be built which meant that the existing counter would have to be cut down. The existing single oven cabinet would have to be modified to fit our double pink ovens and then make everything look like it was original to the house. The sketches he drew were exactly what I was picturing to a T. The counter top tear out was a major project, but Bill did it by himself, making sure our new cork floors were well protected. He carefully cleaned up every night and tried very hard not to put our life out of kilter while this was all going on. When he was finished he had everything looking exactly as I had imagined. The cabinets, drawers and bar he installed were custom built by him. When the work was done I tried very hard to pick it apart but, couldn't find anything wrong, , Bill is just that good. If you want it done extremely fast go somewhere else, BUT, if you want it done by a TRUE CRAFTSMAN go to Bill.
Description of Work: We are restoring our house back to original 1963 and had Bill build a cabinet and glass fronted cabinet in an empty space in the kitchen. He also replaced hideous, chunky late 70's tile countertops with a 1963 style laminate. Restyled a countertop and added a table height bar. Built little what-not shelves on either side of kitchen window over sink.. Modified a single oven cabinet into a double oven with a lid drawer underneath.

We met with Bill and came up with a design. What he delivered was unbelievable. It perfectly matched the design. This built-in is the centerpiece of our home and we could not be more happy. Bill was professional, courteous and very generous. I would not only recommend him to family or friends, we are going to ask him to build more things for our house. You want quality work; he will deliver.
Description of Work: We had a large space (15' wide x 20" depth) and wanted a built-in bookcase. This piece of furniture was going to be the main focal point of our house so it was very important to us to get it right. This bookcase has a base with 6 double doors and on top of the base are 5 openings with the center opening large enough for a 60" tv. The openings have holes to adjust the shelves. We wanted the case to look like it originally came with the house. And after completion, it does. It's an amazing piece of work.

He is a very good contractor. He did very good work. The price included the sink and a garbage disposal. I did have to call him back once but it was not his fault. He is not a speedy worker but a conscientious worker. He was there when he said he would be. He is new and he is still not learned what exactly he can do but he is better than professionals.
Description of Work: He built and installed all my kitchen cabinets. He built doors, covers and the counter tops and installed them.
