Let me preface by saying that I like my new granite countertops. However, the installation was problematic, and I cannot recommend the company for the following reasons. At first, my impression of the company was good. The sales representative convinced me that the work would be done professionally and with only very minor inconvenience. He took meticulous measurements and built an exact template of the space. I was looking forward to the installation a few days later. Then, the company called to inform me that there would be a delay of the installation date. No problem. On the actual day, the installers called me at the appointment time to inform me that they would be an hour late. I was getting nervous because I had to go to work that night. They assured me it would not be a problem. The two young installers were nice enough, but upon their arrival, the issues started. The granite pieces that were supposed to be cut precisely according to the template did not fit. The installers had to adjust the cutting--a lengthy process. Then they said they had to cut into the rebar of the window corners which would be covered by a back splash anyway. Fine. Of course, I noticed later that the cuts included a corner that would clearly not be covered by a back splash. Because of all the necessary adjustments, the installation took forever. When I checked towards the end, I noticed that the disconnected plumbing under the sink was leaking, so badly in fact that water had accumulated half an inch deep on the shelf underneath. In panic, I removed the water and put a bowl under the leak. When I pointed the issue out to the installers, they just shrugged. It was getting late--too late for the plumber who was supposed to come the same day to reconnect the sink plumbing. The projected completion time was exceeded also, and I was late to work that night. I relied on the bowl to catch leaking water until the plumber's arrival the next morning. When I returned from work that night, I found that the bowl to catch the leaking water under the sink had been pushed to the side by the installers, and water had been steadily dripping onto the shelf below. The under-sink cabinet was flooded badly with the wood shelf bending, water pooling, and the protective paper coat shredded to pieces. To my surprise, when I contacted the company the next day about the damage, the owner, Max Thierry, responded that the water damage had already been there before the installation and that there water dripping. He categorically rejected all responsibility and said the damage could not have possibly been caused by the work of his installers. I was floored. But the story does not end here. I should also mention that the sales rep had assured me that I could leave all drawer content in place as it would not be affected by the installation. To my dismay, I noticed afterwards that the content of the top drawers was covered in a thick layer of dust (most certainly not "minimal dust," as noted in the contract). This could have been easily avoided by simply covering them with cloth or plastic. But the installers obviously did not care. I had paid extra ($250) for the plumber who reconnected the plumbing the next day. Within a day, I noticed that the garbage disposal was leaking badly. At this point, I had my trusted handyman fix the issues, as I did not want anything to do with AZ Kitchen and Granite anymore. Although I like my new granite, the experience with this company has understandably left a very bad aftertaste, and I most certainly will never use them again.
