An honest grade is a C if you give them the benefit of the doubt. This is an average company at best, with pros and cons. We hired them to resurface our patio from plain cement to a faux flagstone. Although John the owner was a good salesman at the beginning, the project started off poorly the first day when workers came to pour more cement prepare for an extended patio area. I told the owner that they could come any time after 7:00 AM, but they had to be done by 5:30 PM. The two men showed up just before 4:30 PM and I told them that this day’s work needed to end at 5:30. I quickly got a call from John complaining that he could not get this job done if I insisted on such a “short window of time.” Seriously?! They show up at 4:30 in the afternoon, and its my fault for giving them a short time to work? Wow. There were other occasions of the attitude that issues were our fault. The third day, two new guys came to pour the cement. Neither one could speak any English. That made it impossible to discuss questions with them. Next, John called before the cover layer was applied to the cement to say that we really needed an epoxy coating to make it a solid job. That would be $600 more than the original quote of $5,600. I wonder why it was not included in the original quote if it is so critical to a thorough job. There were other areas of miscommunication with John that were not critical, and they might have been misunderstandings on our part. Misunderstandings take two people. Next, unfortunately, we got a second-string or third-string crew for our project. The original colors that they put down were not what we asked for, and not like the sample that we approved. It looked terrible, with several places where dark stain ran over onto light areas, and dried. After I told John it was not acceptable, he sent Armando, a supervisor, to our house. He saw the problems, and the project immediately got back on track and was finished correctly. Another problem is the slope of the patio addition. It is a noticeably steep slope for runoff. I emailed the company as soon as the cement was poured to alert them to the slope. The response was that the guys doing the next step in the process would correct that. Unfortunately, the next guys had not clue that I had contacted the office, and had no solution for the slope. They simply proceeded to put on the final coating. So, we have a sloped patio that people mention when they see it. John was here one time during the work, for about a half hour. Otherwise, he was not here at the beginning, during the process, or at the end. The final result took seven days instead of five, but we like the end result except for the slope. The good points? They corrected their coloring mistakes, and the finished product is what we wanted (except for the slope). While John was not here during the work other than the one short visit, and did not come by or call when it was done, he made sure to email us the invoice before the guys were finished working on the last day. My overall impression is that his focus is on getting a check, not on seeing that a project goes well for his customers. If anyone decides to use Arrowhead Deck in the future, and I would not recommend that, they should insist that Armando be on the job the whole time for the job to be done right.

John and his crew did a fantastic job at a great price. I couldn't be more impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail. I would highly recommend Arrowhead Deck and Concrete for any outdoor work needing to be done.

John and his crew were great to work with. They showed up on time, were flexible when we changed our minds, and even reduced the bill when we decided to go with a different type of texture. John was a great help by providing numerous examples of how the work would look afterwards so we picked the colors and textures that needed. They did a great job cleaning up after they were done. Would definitely use them again!

It is much better without all the dips in it. I would recommend further training on dust control. We have cement dust in adjacent rooms that leaked around the plastic during the grinding operation. Now we are cleaning up and washing all the dishes in the kitchen cabinets that became coated with dust.

John and his crew are the BEST! They came out the same day I called them to give us an estimate. We were amazed! They were able to fit out job in the next week. The crew were friendly and very concerned we were satisfied with the results. John called us back several days after the work was done, just to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. We had a fabulous experience working with this company. They were awesome! We HIGHLY recommend them to anyone needing concrete done.

John gave us a quote, had concrete pad placed and tile removed from existing concrete pad within a few days. We were given an installation date for the coating 4 weeks in advance and the crew began the work that day and completed within 4 days. The crew was punctual and knowledgeable of the product and gave us a very nice looking patio.

Things went very well, the decorative concrete and pool are beautiful. We had some problems with the sprinkler system underneath the new area of concrete but John (the owner) took care of the repairs and made it right. Excellent service, excellent communication. Would definitely use again and recommend highly.

Summary: Arrowhead Deck and Concrete did an excellent job and we would hire them again. We had challenges and John (the owner) worked with us to find resolutions resulting in an excellent outcome. Background: our backyard has stamped concrete and it is colored. Due to poor maintenance with inferior coating products, the color faded and chipped away from the stamped concrete. Result was patches of white of the stamped concrete appearing resulting in an eyesore in the backyard. John came to our home to assess the situation. He looked at the job and within 12 hours had given us an estimate that was acceptable. John also took the time to answer all our questions with regard to how the work will be performed, duration of the project, and material to be used for the project. We accepted the bid and made a 50% deposit. John's team arrived on the set day and time. They spent the first day power cleaning and preparing the concrete. The second day the crew arrived on time and performed the task of over spraying the old color with white. They took care to cover bushes, pool tile, back door, etc. Very thorough to protect the backyard. The third day the crew arrived and we made final color selections. Application consisted of a base color and two additional colors being added to show depth to the texture. The crew worked with us on color selection and answered our questions. On this day, the base color was applied as well as the darker accent colors. This is where we had a challenge in the project. The darker colors "pooled" in the low spots of the textures instead of remaining on the high points of the texture. It was as if the paint was too thin and would "run" to the low spots. The outcome resulting in a "cheetah" pattern on the patio. We were very disappointed in the look and potential outcome of the project. I contacted John that night and explained the problem and he explained the challenge with some textures having greater highs than lows resulting in the pooling. He asked his lead crew member to assess in morning and recommend next steps. The fourth day the crew arrived and assessed the outcome. The recommendation from the lead crew member was to start over with a new coat of white, apply new base, and then sponge on the dark accent color. I was very surprised at the willingness of the company to make such a recommendation. Most companies would have tried other means to find a simpler, faster solution with poor results. The lead crew member started working on reapplying the white base. I was very surprised he did not appear to reach out John so we could have a dialog about cost. Later that day John reached out to me to converse on the new scope of the project. At this point, I thought "ok, here it comes. John is wanting to want to increase the cost of the project by 50%". John did not talk price at all. He was totally focused on our satisfaction of the project! It was actually I that raised the subject. John did not press the issue and was not focused on the subject. He indicated what the extra work would cost and left me to decide what I was willing to pay! I had never encountered this attitude in a contractor! It was very refreshing and I wanted to reach a compromise that was fair. I knew he took on extra labor and material and I did not think it was his fault and not something that he could have predicted. I made a suggestion and John accepted; he simply did not push the issue. On day five the base color and accent colors were added and application of the accent color was performed by sponge instead of spray. The crew took the time to make sure there was no pooling of the dark color and the accent color was uniform. The outcome was an awesome looking backyard and we are very happy with the outcome!

Everything went great. John was quick to respond and gave us exactly what we wanted. The concrete crew worked us in within a week and the coating crew did a great job. Everything looks great!

very responsive...replied to my initial inquiry in 24 hours, came to my house for inspection within48 hours, had an estimete 24 hours after that. John was able to schedule me in the following week. The work was prompt and beautiful. I could not be happier!

John Tice did a thorough evaluation of area, finding spots in concrete that needed reinforcement. He explained in detail what needed to be done and how to obtain the finish we wanted. His crew arrived promptly on designated days and left area spotless on departure. The entire procedure took three days. When applying color for finish, the crew worked well with us suggesting some additions/ changes. The result was wonderful. John came by the next day to check our satisfaction. Although this was not the cheapest bid we received, we definitely made the best decision. It was a pleasure doing business with Arrowhead Deck Resurfacing.

We are really happy with the end result. This company is great. John was very thorough and concise in his quote and his meeting with us. John had the best sales pitch I have ever heard. He knew we were pressed for time and he eloquently summarized our options for us. It was fun to design the stone texture using three color combinations although we relied heavily on John to guide us. We are very pleased with the end result. Workers were always on time and cleaned up at the end of the work day.

removed the flagstone texture that was previously on for 15 years> Cracking of cement on pool deck was an eyesore and getting wider. Arrowhead replaced pool deck and patio with the stone texture.in March 2015.Work that was completed at time looked good . A couple of months later Noticed hairline crack in same location and was told that this is what happens with concrete . Wish I knew that since we would have opted for another alternative to concrete . In addition white deposits keep appearing which also was told this will happen. Since we had not seen these white deposits in our old cool deck we were surprised and disappointed. You could be spending a daily clean up of this which again we never had to do. overall work was good . The owner will be coming out to see what can be done . I appreciate his response .

John Trice and Arrowhead did an excellent job. The front porch of our condo had two trip hazards and the overall look was tired and ugly with concrete and tiles. John completely redid the surface, eliminated the trip hazards, created a beautiful, smooth surface, and finished it all with wonderful color and texture and a superb quality finish. It is beautiful and gives a whole new look as one approaches the condo. Wow, what a difference and now much safer. I highly recommend John and Arrowhead. If I have any other resurfacing I definitely would use John again. Great work and craftsmanship!

It was excellent working with John, They did the work over the summer when we were gone. We got updates and pictures along the way. The quality of the work was outstanding. This is a very responsible contractor.

We were unfamiliar with the process so had lots of questions for John, the owner. He explained the entire process with illustrations and brochures and gave us a choice of 3 different designs going from least expensive to most expensive. We chose the middle price which resurfaced the existing pads using a 3 color palette of our choice. He had samples of the various finished products with coordinating colors per our color scheme. My husband is VERY precise about what he wants and they were patient with him! David and his crew arrived promptly every day, were courteous and professional - more important, did they know what they were doing! They were eager to get everything perfect and were mindful of keeping things as clean as possible with such a job going on. It took 5 half/days as they were generally gone by about 12:30. Actually this was nice as it gave us every afternoon "off", so to speak. They are really artisans and take great pride in their work. The patio is unbelievable and no one would ever know that it once was old, ugly gray concrete. It has great texture which is slip-proof and it looks like beautiful tile. We spend so much time outside as we have a great misting system and now we truly have an outdoor living room. The only problem is I now want new patio furniture! The pictures in John's brochure and on-line are exact images of what the work looks like in reality. don't hesitate to call John Trice.

Arrowhead is great to work with and they do wonderful work. John, the owner responded promptly to my inquiry and priced the job fairly. They were a little on the high end of the scale, but worth it! The crew showed up exactly when promised, kept me apprised of how the job was progressing each step of the way, and they were very respectful of my property. They were very patient as we worked together to mix the stain colors to my satisfaction. Although the nature of the job it is a messy process, they did their best to keep things as neat as possible and their clean up after the job was phenomenal. The best I have ever experienced with any contractor. I would highly recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone.

John came out for an estimate and brought samples of the finishes with him. With his advice we were able to find the right combination for each area. After arranging a schedule that would work for both of us, his professional crew came on time and kept us up to date on the progress and cleaned up after each visit. We are very happy with the work.

It went just as planned. John came and gave me an estimate and when I called him and gave him the go ahead he scheduled a date that he could start. He and his people showed up on the date agreed upon and proceeded to complete the job. It was done in the time John said it would be and it was done to my satisfaction.

The team was fantastic from start to finish. They consulted me on every step making sure I got the color and surface that I was looking for. The results were amazing, transforming the back yard space exactly as I had imagined it would. The team was Professional and detail oriented, it was a great experience.

John responded promptly, made suggestions regarding different surface possibilities and priced each. He carefully tested areas that were failing including along the lip of the pool. When he was given the go ahead, we scheduled the work (about 2 weeks out) and he held to that date. His 3 man crew arrived early every day and worked h****** the task at hand that day. The project took 3 days to complete. Everything was done carefully and looks terrific. The one caution I would offer is that if you are thinking of draining and refilling your pool, do it after this work is complete (we did the opposite). The process creates a tremendous amount of very fine concrete dust. The crew did a great job of protecting the house and adjacent plants and other objects but the pool collected a lot of dust.

They were very prompt and arrived each day at the time as promised. They were very respectful of our property and cleaned up each day. The finished product is great! We are very pleased.
