Owner Jason came for estimate. Pleasant, was glad to point out parts of roof that did not need gutters, which I appreciated. Made measurements, gave me a quote of $2,000 for 200 linear-feet of gutter with five down-spouts. Scheduled a date and time for his crew of two guys to come install. I asked for their names ... let's call them X and Y. On scheduled date, Y shows up to work but X is 3 hours late. They complete the job and my wife pays them. I take a look when I get home from work. Seems okay; color is right, but I do notice some sharp edges on down-spout retainer straps that would be easy to get cut on. Otherwise, I don't notice much. Have to wait until it rains, I guess. About a month later it rains and I see about six areas that are leaking badly. I call Jason and he calls X and tells him to come back and take care of it, which X does but in the next rain storm half of them are still leaking. I call Jason again and he again calls X who comes and does it all over again. X applies sealant and concedes that there may be a design flaw in the roof that is causing problems. Four months later and another rain storm reveal persistent leaks. I call Jason and tell him enough is enough. He says he has fired X for unsatisfactory job performance and will come out to the house himself. He comes and asks if he can use my 8-foot step ladder since he does not carry ladders with him on his pickup. He looks at the problem areas and says he has a roofer friend who can look at the roof problems and is also good with gutters and can address those too. He will meet his friend at the house and the three of us will assess. The Christmas holidays come and go and I don't hear anything further from Jason so I call ... he asks me to call his roofer friend directly to coordinate. I spend several weeks trying to coordinate with the roofer and when he and I do meet at the house he assesses the roof and says he knows how to fix it and looks at the gutters ... says there is a pitch problem with one of them since it has standing water in it. He will also need to add more sealant to the seams to stop the leaking. He will buy materials for the roof and call me when he can come by and fix everything, he says. Several weeks go by as we try to coordinate a meeting. He comes to the house, fixes the roof (which I pay him directly for fixing), and repairs the gutters. He did note that he used my garden hose for a water test and found 7 leaks in the gutters before he sealed them properly. (Even though I left the hose out for a water test on any of the previous repairs, I never found evidence that it was ever used). The roofer said it was now watertight as it should be ... and at the next rain storm he was right. All good, but this was February and the gutters were installed seven months ago. I would not use AZ Veteran Gutter Service again based on this experience.
Description of Work: Needed gutters installed in courtyard of 2800 sf house, one side of garage and entire back length of house.
