highly recommend staying away from Arizona Fireplaces. We just spent $5k on a fireplace that we can not use because it blew the breaker. We were never told that we would need a dedicated wall outlet. Just had Hobaica come out and to do this work it will be an additional $1500. We are beyond upset and displeased. If we would of known this ahead of time we would have not purchased it. AGAIN STAY FAR AWAY FROM ARIZONA FIREPLACES.

Great! Another company had said the fireplace needed new valve and gave $1,044 estimate. Arizona Fireplaces did basic maintenance and replaced a switch for $185 service call and it works fine now. Even if new valve had been needed it would have only added a couple hundred dollars to cost. Very reputable and know what they are doing. Highly recommend them.

They let us know that we had the wrong type of fireplace for their services. They service gas and electric fireplaces and we have a solid fuel only unit. We didn't know which type we had for sure upon hiring them. They were polite, on-time, and referred another company who could service our fireplace. We thank them for the time and knowledge they shared with us. The referred Chimney Sweep, "Chimney Cricket" , cleaned out our wood burn fireplace and let us know about the safety hazard we had with the cracked back Reflector wall. We will contact them soon to replace the damaged reflectors .

Run, do not walk away from this company!!!! We are building a custom home and ordered one of their high-end linear fireplaces. The first installer brought the fireplace out to the site and installed the base unit. When he installed the unit, he cracked the fireproof drywall that he installed above the unit. This installer told us he would be out to replace the drywall. (Never heard from him). A second installer came out and attempted to install the remote switch. This installer didn't have the correct tools and basically butchered our 2x6 framing and attached the wiring so loosely that a slight breeze would blow the wire off the connection. The installer provided vague directions to where the electrician should wire the unit. When asked detail questions about the unit, the installer had no knowledge of the unit. Both my General Contractor and I have called Arizona Fireplaces and left messages both on voice mail and with the receptionist to have a responsible person call us. No one has ever called us back, it’s been three months! This is by far the most unprofessional company I’ve ever worked with! Again, run do not walk away from this company!!!!!!

We replaced our refractories through Arizona Fireplaces and were extremely dissatisfied. They recommended we use Patrick Rowland as our installer. Patrick arrived with the panels and told me that Arizona Fireplaces had given him the wrong panel. He was visibly upset. When he returned with our panel, the back panel was too thick to sit down properly. When I pointed out that it was crooked and not fitting, he again was upset. At this point he told me that it could be weeks before I would be able to get the panel fixed. I called Arizona Fireplaces and they said it would not be a problem to do immediately. Patrick, still angry, said, "Alright, I'll go back there, but if this doesn't work out, I'm just going to put the old ones back in. This is just too small for me to waste my time on." I reminded him that this wasn't a problem I caused and to please not be angry with me. Finally, Patrick sent his workmen to install all three panels. Clearly, the problem back panel had not been trimmed and there were three problems overall: 1. There was a gap larger than one quarter inch between the side and the back panel. 2. The back panel did not sit down properly, leaving a small gap on one side and the panel at a crooked angle overall. 3. The refractories were poorly cut, leaving chips, jagged edges, and exposed wires. We called Arizona Fireplaces to explain the poor workmanship and sent them pictures (which we also uploaded to their Yelp page). We received an email in response saying only "that is a normal crack between the bricks," even though I had been told over the phone by them that anything over a quarter inch is unacceptable. He also did not address the issue of the edges or the crooked back panel. Sadly, I strongly recommend against using either Patrick Rowland or Arizona Fireplaces.

Went very well. After 10 years we learned one fireplace had not been broke- in and need to run for 10 to 12 hours before we should use it with the windows open. It never seemed to be right so we didn't use it. The main fireplace would not start. Come to find out it was installed wrong by the builder then modified incorrectly. Technician knew what his job and fixed it promptly. No complaint except had to wait for an appointment since they were backed up - understandable this time of year. .

Exceptional service! They called me to confirm when they would be there so I could determine when I needed to get off work to meet them at my home. They arrived when they said they would. The service technician (Jason) was VERY professional. He was extremely thorough and expalined to me what he was doing. He brought in a floor mat to prevent any dirty messes on my carpet around the firepalce. He cleaned the glass covering which was also dirty & driving me crazy. I couldn't beleve how how he took the fireplace apart so easily and knew exactly what to do. He checked everything out. He cleaned the ignitor switch, re-connected a questionable electrical connection, took apart my wall switch and used his amp meter to make sure everything was within tolerance. I just couldn't have been happier. I thought customer service was a thing of the past, but Jasson proved me wrong. I will recoomend these guys to everyone who has a gas fireepalce for sure. How nice it is to have a good working fireplace when you need one.

We were very impressed with the service throughout the entire process. On the initial call, Jason, the technician, was delayed quite a bit as a result of unexpected issues with the previous appt. He kept us updated throughout the delay and even asked it we wanted to reschedule. Once he arrived, and this was toward the end of the day, he thoroughly checked out the fireplaces, explaining everything that he was doing and what he was finding. He did discover that the fireplace in the living room, which we had only used once in 12 years, was vented incorrectly. He contacted his service department and sent pictures of what he had found. AZ Fireplaces researched the situation and tried to determine the least invasive approach that would achieve the desired results. Mark and Glen returned about 10 days later, worked their magic and had the living room fireplace working properly in no time.
Description of Work: They serviced two fireplaces in a 16-year old house. One checked out ok, the other one needed an additional service call.

I was referred to AZ Fireplaces in June by the designer I'm using for a whole house remodel. When I visited the N Scottsdale showroom I was greeted promptly and the salesperson showed my various electric units and answered my questions about options and features. One of the units I was interested in was a new model that they did not have on display. The salesperson gave me a brochure on that and another one I liked. Within a week I decided on the brand and model I wanted. Because I had not seen that unit on display, my designer and contractor each went, on separate occasions, to the showroom to check out the unit. It was not in stock. On July 29th I phoned AZ Fireplaces and placed an order. I talked to the same person I saw on my initial visit and who met with my designer & contractor. I gave her the brand, model number, and size I wanted. I asked if they would be giving us a contractor discount; she said yes my contractor qualified for that discount. I asked if my contractor or I should pay for the unit; she said the invoice would be in the name of the contractor. During that conversation she indicated the model and size I wanted was still not in stock, but it was expected soon and she would call me when it arrived. I told her that when it came in I would have my contractor call her to coordinate delivery. She mentioned that she lived near me and could personally deliver the unit at the end of her workday. I agreed and reiterated that she should call me so I when it came in so I could make sure the contractor was on site to accept delivery. On September 5, my designer visited the showroom to check status of the order. He was told they had no invoice and no record of an order or any contact with me, the designer, or contractor. She also told him the model and size I wanted was still not in stock. Early that afternoon he relayed that information to me. At 1:55pm Sept 5, I phoned AZ Fireplace to make sure they ordered one for me. The receptionist indicated the person I had been dealing with was with a customer and would call me when she was free. It's been more than two week and I still have not received a call-back. I have phoned another dealer. They had the model & size I wanted; a day later my contractor picked it up.
Description of Work: Lost, misplaced or never recorded my order. Failed to return phone call when I tried to reorder.

Recently purchased a new home - fireplace has no screen and no chimney cap (two chimneys) -called Arizona Firplaces (based on Angies list recommendations) - they sent someone out to get measurements (charged me $125)- he did not make a template of the fireplace. This was 5/12. Didn't hear anything for a couple of weeks, so called again (~6/1) - said they couldn't find the template (the first person did not make one) - so they sent another man out on 6/4 - he did make a template. Waited again, about two weeks, and called again - they said they would email me an estimate - which they did. The chimney shroud would be $900 (assume that is for one??) - fireplace door $1469.00, and shipping of $154. So looked elsewhere on Angie's list and found another provider - two chimney caps installed -$397.73 - within two weeks. Haven't found a place for fireplace doors yet - but in view of the huge price difference I can probably get them much cheaper elsewhere.

Response from ARIZONA FIREPLACES
I looked into [Member Name Removed] review and complaint. Our service department did go out and take measurements and did misplace them. [Member Name Removed] had to call in a second time to ask what was going on. There are no excuses from me or our service department for this. The tech messed up and the service manager did not review his daily service sheets which would have caught the mistake of the lost template. After a second call from [Member Name Removed], we did go out and re-measure the arched fireplace opening to prepare a quote for some custom doors to fit this opening. While there, [Member Name Removed] also wanted a quote on a special custom shroud to go on top of his chimney. We then prepared a quote on this special designed shroud (pictured in one of our books) along with a second quote for a more standard and economical solution the"RMR" caps. That quote was $350.00 installed for two of them. (which by his own review is what he probably was supplied and paid the same amount elsewhere) So while I admit to his accuracy on our service department (and I thank him for letting us know so we can improve our system and controls to make sure this type of thing doesn't happen again) he must be confused on which pricing for what product. I reviewed the quote submitted by our salesman and it seemed very straight forward as far as two separate prices for two different options. I believe [Member Name Removed] was frustrated with having to call us out twice (and I don't blame him as I would be also) but his statement about our pricing is false. We have done business here in the valley since 1980 and while we realize that we are not perfect, I will stand by my companies integrity and ethics in all transactions. The builders in Phoenix support us for 35 years because of this honesty and I believe [Member Name Removed] made some conclusions based on his frustrations with us and not the accuracy of the facts. I can and will improve my company as a result of his frustrations (and I personally want to apologize to him) of the service he received. However, he was given two separate and accurate bids on the shrouds and caps and I am sure that if he quotes out the same glass doors from another supplier that the pricing will be very competitive but understand his reluctance to go down that road. Sincerely submitted,, Don Richardson President Arizona Fireplaces 602-243-6423

The product itself and salesperson, Brent were both great. However, there were several issues with the install. If they want to have a guy named Chuck install your fireplace-back away. He is more interested in telling jokes-we ended up with two leaks and smelled propane for five weeks in our house. Chuck even came back to check on it and still said there were no propane leaks. Another time, Chuck never showed up for the repair visit-he forgot about the visit. I missed work time and and had rescheduled an important meeting on that occasion. It took five visits and three repairman to find and repair this leak in what would be considered an easy install. This is a family owned business and yet with all the issues, the owner couldnt pick up the phone himself to do something to rectify the situation. I find that disturbing-I only dealt with Brent.(who once again was great) If there was anyone else to use, I would think about it! The product is great ,so it is bad that the customer service is limited to one guy there-Brent. That is why I scored them low on professionalism. If things had been handled differently, I would use them in the future as I do really like the finished product itself. I understand when things dont always go perfectly, but five visits, three repairman and the what appears to be a non caring owner make me uneasy to recommend.
