Affordable Plumbing, Rooter and Water Heaters

Water was leaking into my house on a Saturday. We manage to turn the water off to the house. I called Affordable Plumbing and was able to send Curtis out by 12:00pm. He quickly assessed the situation and let me know that there was most likely a slab leak. He gave me a phone number for a leak location company - which was also functional, professional and efficient. He also answered all my plumbing questions. There was never any pressure to do any other work I requested his thoughts on replacing my water heater proactively (my water heater was about 10 years old), as well as another method of turning water off to my house that would be easier. Adrien (from the leak location service recommended by them was very good as well) called Curtis to fill him in on the issue Curtis came out the next day and did the work, again, on time, professional and very good at explaining what was done. He also vacuumed up after the work (It involved going up to the attic and there was insulation that came down from the attic. The water heater was installed and there was minimal dry wall damage as a result of the rerouting. I would definitely use Affordable plumbing again. Curtis made a stressful situation as painless as possible.

We just moved into our new home. Unfortunately, we were having some drainage issues that were beyond self-repair. Called Linda after seeing reviews on Angie's List. She indicated someone would be out between 1-3pm. By 3pm, we didn't hear anything, so I called Linda and she dispatched Larry because the original person was stuck at a bigger than expected job. Larry arrived within 10 minutes and was finished in 20 minutes. They get an 'A' rating from me with a couple of suggestions. 1. 'B' for Price: I do not know the going rate for a plumber, but it seems the price I paid is the minimum ($150/call) minus the Angie's List discount. I rate a 'B' because I believe they should have disclosed the minimum as well as the labor rate when I called on the phone to set up service. 2. 'B' for Responsiveness: I would suggest they call if the window or repair person is going to change. Also, call when you are X minutes away so we have a heads up we're next on your list. 'A' for everything else: Same-day, prompt, professional, quality service with a guarantee on the lines drained if anything were to clog again soon. Larry was great.

Sunday morning... Dishwasher running, washing machine running and water coming up in both the shower and the bath tub. NOT a good thing. Checked Angie's List for a recommendation and rating and also the BBB. AFFORDABLE PLUMBING AND ROOTER ("AFFORDABLE") had Excellent ratings at both. I called AFFORDABLE and immediately spoke with a person - not an answering service or a machine. Larry was at my home before the scheduled appointment with the tools and equipment to go right to work. As he proceeded, he explained exactly what he was doing and gave me helpful hints to temporarily relieve the problem should it reoccur in the future and preventive tips as well. At completion, Larry advised that his work is guaranteed and if there are any problems in the future, I should give him a call. I would not hesitate to call AFFORDABLE with future plumbing needs.

Very courteous and was very concerned about getting our house dirty. He said they normally like to run the snake on the outside but we have an older house and there are no cleanouts outside. Anyway I would definitely hire him again and have recommended him to friends. I should also mention he came out on Sunday and charged me his normal rate, which I find commendable.

Wonderful work. One is never exactly thrilled to have a plumber come over, kind of like one is never exactly thrilled to have to go to the dentist. However, if you ever do need a plumber, you cannot go wrong with Larry. We have used him several times, and this latest time he again impressed us with his skills, professionalism and honesty. He would not give up, or settle for just ok, as he patiently found solutions to unexpected challenges (created by the way the new faucet was made, and the positions of our counter holes) in the install. Once you use Larry for any plumbing work, you will be sure to never to lose his number!

Larry came out to give an estimate. He was pleasant and professional. The price was much better than the quote from another company I found here on Angie's List. He got the necessary part and performed the work right away. I wish all service calls could be so easy! We will definitely be calling Larry again for any future plumbing needs.

After locating Affordable Plumbing on Angie's List, I called and spoke to Linda. She was able to schedule me this morning, which was key being that water was squirting out under my sink. Larry arrived on time and went right to work. He explained the repair and offered to fix stuck copper sink handle, too. Stuck handle had corroded and posed a challenged, but now it works great. All is fixed and a water tragedy has been averted. Thank you, Larry, I will definitely call you next time I need plumbing help. I highly recommend Affordable Plumbing.

Larry was there within the time frame I was given. He was pleasant, efficient and got the job done quickly. He was also very indulgent with my curious dog.

Curtis was the foreman. They were fast and efficient. They left the house in great condition. It was a really good overall experience and they were very very reasonable.

I called and spoke with Linda at 1:30 PM about my issue. She stated Larry was available and should be onsite in 1.5 hours. She called me again to give me an up when he was on his way. Larry arrived early and observed what I had done. He explained to me what I did wrong (failed to tighten all of the bolts/nut beyond hand tight like the instructions stated). I learned a lot about this and other toilet maintenance jobs while Larry was fixing the toilet. He had the job completed in 30 minutes. His work was through and he took the time to explain the proper procedure of what I had attempted to do myself.

A clogged drain pipe is always a nasty surprise for the homeowner. If you don't have a trusted plumber you can easily count on spending a couple hours finding one. I was lucky to locate Larry who is the owner/operator of Affordable Plumbing and Rooter. We made an appointment with him at 9:00 am and promptly at 1:00 pm he showed up -- at the agreed time. Larry promptly set to work on our sink drain pipes that had seen better days. An hour later the task was completed and what seemed a difficult job was made to look easy by Larry. The charge for the job was reasonable given the aged state of the pipes and the roto-rooting. I strongly recommend Larry's work.

We really liked the owners. They were affordable as well.

I started to take a shower on Saturday afternoon but when I turned the handle on the faucet I heard a crack and water would not turn on all the way nor turn off all the way. I figured it was the cartridge, and luckily I was able to get ahold of Affordable Plumbing to come fix it. Larry was here quickly and changed out the cartridge, however he did not have the control handle in stock. He went to the hardware store, and replaced it. Since I was curious about the cartridge, he showed me everything he was doing and even gave me the number to call Moen for a replacement. So very professional, quick, and does not gouge you for weekend work!! Affordable is definitely my first call for plumbing!

Everything went well, I would recommend them to anyone.

He was on time, absolutely, perfect, fair,professional, he replaced my broken hose bibb and inspected my garage disposal, and we decided did not need to be replaced, while he was here, he checked out my water heater, for any future problems, again no work was needed.

Wrong review (different company) was posted previously. This is the right one for Affordable Plumbing. Larry was very nice and professional. Showerhead was installed quickly and efficiently. Company was responsive to problems later with the hardware and offered to resolve the issue quickly. I am satisfied with their service and would use/recommend them again.

Larry didn't have the complete Kohler cylinder in his truck, so he quickly went to a plumbing supply store for the item. He said the Pfister spray hose base should be covered in warranty, so we called them and it is being sent to me. Affordable is coming back out to install and am having them flush my water heater at that time. Larry is nice, quick, knowledgable, very clean (brought in wet/dry vac for the toilet), and I trust him.

My first contact with Affordable Plumbing turned out to be the ONLY call I needed. Linda was very cordial and extremely helpful in walking me through the process of securing a replacement. Affordable Plumbing does not charge for "travel time" and offers a variety of manufacturers to choose from. Linda suggested a Bradford White heater as her recommendation and I agreed. We set the appointment for the next morning. The owner showed up promptly on time, professionally installed the new water heater and had it operational within an hour. This is my first use of Angie's List and I cannot be more pleased with the results. Affordable Plumbing offers an extension of the Bradford White warranty for an extra $150.00. I will call Linda right after my review and speak with her about the extension. Call these wonderful pros...they provide outstanding customer service!

The service went okay. I asked them to replace a hot water heater. I paid an additional $700 for the water heater and installation. I felt like the pricing was a little high for the service. One technician came out for the job. My biggest concern was that he was by himself and had difficulties moving the water heater and even tipped it over. The job just seemed a bit unorthodox. I had no problem scheduling the deal and they came out pretty quickly since the water heater was leaking.

very nice guy. replaced the faucet and followed to adjust the drain . called second service to replace shower fixtures. Both jobs done very well. will do future jobs with him.
