Description of Work: About Blind Cleaning, Inc. is definitely not a company I would recommend. I was in a pinch and made a bad decision by going with them. I had 5 horizontal wood blinds that they took down and cleaned while I was getting new windows installed. I do agree that the wood blinds themselves were cleaned extremely well but three out of the five blinds were returned in different shape than they left. Two were shorter (the string ladder had to be replace by them) but the owners claimed it wasn't their fault but they would do me a favor by fixing them. One still isn't right since it hangs too low and light comes in at the top. They broke two wand tilters and claimed that one was broken when it came to them which it wasn't. The owners were very resistant to scheduling when it was convenient for me. Since they had to come three time and I have a day job they said that they didn't want their workers to work late or on weekends since they "have families". Well I come from working a 24/7/365 type of job and that was an insult. Both times the installers were late. The young man was polite but also agreed that their services are too pricey and pretty much admitted they lost one of the slats to my kitchen blind. I paid way too much and got horrible customer service. I do not recommend this company to anyone.

 + -1 moreThey cleaned the windows so good it looked like there weren't even windows there. They were great, friendly, kept us up to date and were really just accommodating. They also offered us a discount due to my father being a war veteran which we were really impressed with. They took the time to do the job right and were just fantastic. I would highly recommend them.

 + 0 moreTook all the wood blimds down and out to their truck for complete cleaning. Wood blinds seemed to warp slightly in spots. One set of verticals were also done. Verticals did not work easily after rehanging but seemed to smooth out some after much use. Would still use them again for a thorough cleaning. Estimate was performed professionally and work was done in line with estimate.

 + -1 moreThe estimator for the job was prompt and friendly. He provided us with a clear estimate of the work to be done. We were able to schedule the work for 3 days after his visit. The workers actually arrived early (GREAT!). They did excellent work. They were courteous, pleasant and efficient and worked very hard. Our blinds had never been professionally cleaned (most of them were 19 years old), and they turned out like new. A separate cleaning process is done for the vinyl blinds vs. the wood blinds, and this company knows what they are doing. The job ended up taking approximately 7 hours, vs. the 9 hours that was estimated. They cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely use this company again, and highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Cleaned 9 mini blinds, 4 wood blinds, 1 vertical blind, and cleaned all windows in the house (inside and outside), including the front screen door. Also cleaned all of the screens.

 + -1 moreOn time. Got the job done. I was a little shocked at the price, but then everything seems to do that to me today. Quality was fine. No complaints. If you are looking to purchase shades,blinds, shutters - be forewarned. This is the land of full bore retail. If you?re looking for discount pricing, look elsewhere. Other than that one caveat - they are nice people to work with. Show up on time, pleasant, etc. And they do a great job of cleaning and installing blinds, shades, etc. They were even able to cut down a couple of pricey woven woods I brought from another house and adjust them to fit a narrower window (as an inside mount) in the new house.

To my wonderful surprise, they took them down, cleaned them, pressed them and put them back up about two days before Thanksgiving. AMAZING and they looked great. Thank you ABOUT BLIND!

 + -1 moreTheir service is fabulous. He was really good, and he worked really hard at my. He came in a summer although it was 115 degrees outside, and he cleaned my honeycomb blinds. It was a horrible job. It took him much of the day and he did a fabulous job. They are so perfectly clean and I don't think I've ever seen anyone work so hard. It was worth every penny. It was very expensive but he was really good and really hardworking.

 + -1 moreWhen we purchased our house, there were drapes in one room and valences in 2 rooms. They were starting to look dirty (very dusty and had pet hair). I decided it was time we had them cleaned. The person who cleaned them was very professional. He took down the valances and drapes and brought them out to his truck to clean them, and then hung them back up. They look brand new after being cleaned!

 + -1 moreAfter contacting several locations without satisfaction, we were fortunate to discover "About Blind & Drapery Cleaning, Inc." to dry clean our draperies. The owner came to our residence and conducted himself in an extremely professional and credible manner. His pricing was reasonable and fair, and his references were impeccable. When his installation team returned to re-hang the draperies they were equally professional and accommodating. The entire experience, occurring as it did during a stressful remodeling period, was extremely welcome and refreshing. We will certainly rely on the company for future service and enthusiastically refer friends and neighbors to the benefits of utilizing any and all of their services.
Description of Work: In the midst of a total interior home upgrading including new carpeing, painting, grout cleaning, etc., our draperies were ready for professional dry cleaning.

Was told I was the first appt. of the day so when the owner did not arrive 30 minutes after appt time, I called to see if there was a miscommunication about the time or date. The woman who answered the phone did not know but would find out. I received a call from the owner about 10 minutes later to let me know he would be late. I asked him about estimated arrival time since I had another commitment. He said he was nearby and it might be about 10 minutes. He did not arrive for another 30 minutes. Services were explained fully, but the price was SIGNIFICANTLY higher than when I had service type in the past from another provider (no longer in business or would have called). Opted to continue looking for another provider. Based on price and arrival more than an hour late with no notification without me calling, I would not use this provider.

Description of Work: They cleaned and restored a set of (Cowan & Tout) silk taffeta drapes that were lined, interlined, and finished off with Houles trims/fringes/etc. These drapes cost well over $30k when they were made up some 20 years ago. This company saved them and rendered them usable again. I was amazed. Expensive? Yes, they were. And worth every penny of the cost. I'd use them again in a heart beat. If you have fine draperies, exotic fabrics and trims that are nearly impossible to replace, this is the place to go in Phoenix. They're not fast. The work is done by hand. But it's done right which, after all, is the only thing that counts in the end!

Description of Work: We had some VERY costly custom drapes that were made for our home in San Francisco. Because they were made of Cowan & Tout Silk, with Houles trim, and both lined and inner-lined, the goblet pleated drapes and valances and sheers cost me well over $20,000. (Yes I know it's absurd - but they were beautiful!) We didn't realize that our cats had somehow decided that urinating on the bottom of the puddled drapes was so much softer and more pleasant to their little paws than bother to go in their kitty box. So the lower six or seven inches of these very costly and very beautiful drapery panels were ruined! The cat urine had dried in, and of course soaked thru the silk, the lining fabric and the inner-lining. I didn't think they could be saved but decided to give it a try. I called About Blind & Window on recommendations from a friend. They came out promptly and took one of the panels to see if they could find a way to safely clean it. Fortunately for me, they did! Although it took multiple methods and a LOT of time, they got the cat stains out, and restored the drape to it's original texture and flexibility. While there was some slight change of color - because it's at the bottom and cannot be seen when the drapes are puddled on the floor - it really doesn't matter much. Please understand that prior to their cleaning - the drapes were useless to us. I was looking for a custom drapery shop to cut off the bottom 10" and replace it with a contrasting boarder look or a tapestry panel or something so we could avoid throwing all that fabric into the trash bin! Their work was NOT cheap. But then I didn't think it would be. We were out on the edge of what might be possible, and that kind of risk taking and labor does not generally come at bargain basement pricing. It took about 3 weeks to clean the entire set. But the price was fair for the amount of labor involved. And to salvage these drapes for $1000 was, in my opinion, a bargain compared to any other alternatives we found. Will I use them again? HEAVEN's YES! I may send drapes to them if we move out of state! They are that good! Bye the way, the charges included pick-up, deliver, and rehanging or packaging for storage (as you prefer) and we are very pleased that this was even possible. Then when it turned out as well as it did, we went from pleased to absolutely delighted! Great Company to do business with. Absolutely great!

Description of Work: I needed to have my heavy linen drapes and light linen sheers cleaned and pressed.The owner of the company came to price the job for me. He was very courteous and professional. This company is able to clean on-site but I had already removed my curtains to do some painting, so he took them to clean. They came back a week later and the two guys who hung them up and steamed them literally took about three hours to put them back in place (as opposed to the ten minutes it took my husband to hang them in the first place). They measured the drapes carefully to replace the rings every 8 inches. They arranged the curtains and made sure there were no wrinkles. As you may know, it is very difficult to remove creases from linen, but these looked fabulous. They looked better than when they were brand-new. The guys slipped booties on their shoes to come into the house and they were so nice and polite. The owner stopped by to see how everything was going. I will definitely use them again.

Contacted About Blind Cleaning and talked to Mary, she set up an appointment for the next day to have Jim Thomas to come out and give me an estimate on the job(s) to be performed. He explained in detail what his company does and what I could expect to be done. He walked around the premises, took notes and measurements and came up with an estimate on the job. I agreed to the contract and price. He contacted Mary to see when it job could be scheduled. It was set up to be done the next day!! His employees, Mario and Rick showed up at the appointed time of 7:00 AM. They started working right away after briefly going over what all was to be done. Mario went to work on the windows and Rick started taking down the blinds and taking them out to their truck to be cleaned. They worked very effeciently and were very thorough in the job. They finished in about 5 hours. All windows were sparkling clean and the blinds looked like new. Rick also repaired one of the blinds. Mario did all the windows and also the lights outside and even did the mirrors in my 2 bathrooms and the dome on my sky light. It was a very hot day but that didn't stop them from completing the job. I am still in awe the difference the cleaning made to my home. In the many years that I have had this house (12) I have never had the blinds or windows done professionally. It is so much brighter and looks so much more cleaner since I had the services done. I plan to be on at least a yearly schedule to have the window cleaning done by them. I am also considering the possibility of having replacement blinds for a couple of the windows and I will surely have that done by Jim Thomas and his company. Jim even came back after the job was completed to see if all work had been done to my satisfaction. I said "YES" and I still couldn't get over the difference in the blinds and windows. About Blind Cleaning is a first class company and I would recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Had 10 window blinds cleaned (a combination of faux wood and vinal) and also 1 vertical blind on my patio door; all windows cleaned inside and out as well as the screens cleaned; 5 outdoor lights cleaned. They also cleaned my bathroom mirrors and the dome on my sky light.

The people doing the cleaning showed up on time and did a fabulous job. Mario and Don were both professional and courteous. They went out of their way to make sure everything was sparkling. The work exceeded my expectations.
