A1 Garage Door Service

Terrible. This company is a bait and switch. $99 suddenly turned into over $300. I feel so ripped off and deceived. The service took 2 visits because did not have the required items on the truck. So I got my new weathering stripping but at over 3 times the amount it should have been with the purchased service.

We called for free estimate. They arrived early which is good. Estimate came in $643.31 on 3/24/17. We thought it was a fair price. Had the repairs completed with a tune up in less than hour. The service tech was extremely professional and friendly.

Craig was fantastic and an excellent representation of the company. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. I asked about installing a new opener and he made recommendations that fit my needs and budget without making me feel any pressure. He walked me through what to do to keep my door and the rollers/etc in good shape and didn't charge me for the tune up since the door itself didn't need it. I am 100% happier with new opener too! *purchased new opener and keypad install.

Easy to schedule; arrived as expected. Wasn't able to repair, so replaced door opener. Left us with two remotes, neither functioned. Left dirty finger prints in several places on outside of door. Price mushroomed from a few hundred dollars to over a thousand. Talked with a different technician next day and found out that there was a "lock" position near the wall button to open the door. When that was released, the remotes worked. Someone was supposed to come clean the door exterior, but that hasn't happened.

The best service, tech was prompt, courteous, communicated well, replaced both hinges with better quality parts, adjusted everything, and completed the job quickly and efficiently. I am extremely pleased with the work, and A-1 will definitely get my business in the future.

They are always prompt and courteous and their prices are very reasonable in fact on one job they were half the price of the other quotes. They are now my garage door repair company for life. Good job guys!

Company texted us and technician, Bradley, called prior to arriving. Arrived on time, was very professional and did quality work. Completed the entire replacement in under hour and a half. Would use their services again!

My experience with this company was awful! Please read this review if you are thinking of using them for service.. This company reminds me more of a boiler room-professional sales organization than a garage door service company. From the moment I called to schedule a service appoitment until the moment the service technician left, I was under constant pressure to make a decision on the spot! Much like what you might picture in an unflattering used car situation. My choices from A1 were either pay $600++ to service the existing door or option #2 pay Thousands for a new door! When I asked about guarantee on the service option I was told it would only a 30day guarantee but would last years. Twice I was told that the tech needed "call my manger" to see if I can lower the price, eventually moving from a starting point of $790.00 for service to the $600 range. I told the tech that I would not be able to make the decision on spot and asked for a written with services outlined sent to my e-mail. Never received a quote. Long story short: I called a 2nd Garage company and they came out to the house the next day (today). Total bill to repair all issues $259.00. Springs, bearings and balancing and everything works great. I'm sure A1 will have some sort of reply and that is fine. If you have one takeaway from this review: Get at least 2 quotes and do not make a decision if being pressured, it may save you a lot of $$$.

The new opener and rollers are working well.

Ad said it was for garage opener installation. When the service person came to install he added extra fees because there were no brackets up to hold opener. When I said the ad said installation he said it was really for replacement. He also tried to sell me a new spring but the door is working fine with what I had.

it does not get any better than this, i called at 8:30 am, they had tech. out by 10:00 am, JESSIE the installer gave me a fair quote, he had garage door opener in his truck and new set of rollers, it was a difficult installation which i new it would be, JESSIE did a great job.

Excellent work and the door works and looks beautifully.

I was very happy to get them to come out the day after Christmas. The work was done well and in short order. My only complaint would be that it seemed more expensive than I was expecting.

The service was delayed by 1 day, as it was completely miss schedulled by the operator. The tech, though courteous, seemed to have damaged the door more. Did not check, the work till about 3 days larer. End sercice, very poor

Badly. Tried to charge me $ 59 per door instead of posted member price of $ 39.00. Did not give me the 5% discount either. Lubricated rollers and hinges on all three doors, as well as attached a new bolt on a bracket. Did not balance the doors. Said would void my warranty. Tried to freighten me into buying 3 pairs of springs because " they are under sized for the weight of the door" and "past their useful life" !!!!! Door are upscale Clopay doors installed about 3 years ago by Cookson. A1 told me Cookson would not answer the phone if I called them to check on the springs installed by Cookson. I did call Cookson . I am giving Cookson a shout out for their prompt attention to my concerns and issues . Cookson came and balanced the doors. All A1 did was lubricate the doors and attach a new bolt. The lead guy spent a half hour trying to convince me I needed 3 new springs at $ 299 each. His trainee spent 20 minutes on lubricating the doors. Smacks of bait and switch type of advertising to me (:- Terribly dissappointed!

Arrived early -did a great job and pointed out an issue with the rollers which was taken care of ... in and out in under an hour. Polite, knowledgeable and professional.

Overall service was good but technician was dirty and smelly. His hands were black from grime, along with his shorts. As much as I appreciate him programming my HomeLink in my cars to the garage door unit, common sense would be to wash or at least wipe your black, filthy hands off before getting in and out of our vehicles. He left black marks all over our car seats. I had seen this same tech the night before and he looked and smelled exactly the same. I was the 2nd appt in the morning so it's hard to believe he accumulated this much filth in just one appointment.

The service technician, Bill, was courteous, professional, and very patient with all my questions and even offered great advice on what I could do to maintain my garage door in good working condition.

Lonnie from A1 Garage Door Service called ahead of time to notify he is on his way. My appointment window was 12-2 and Lonnie was here at 12. He was professional, knowledgeable and very thorough. He checked the door alignment and all the hinges. He sprayed all the metal parts with a greaser and lubricated the hinges with a paste. He kept on checking for the noise reduction and smoother operation by opening and shutting the garage door repeatedly. He didn't stop until the majority of the noise and shaking of the door disappeared. Lonnie said it will even get better in a few days as the opening and shutting of the door will help to spread the grease into all the dry areas while pushing out the dust which cause a lot of the noise. He also recommended a change of the plastic rollers that are currently on the door to nylon ball bearing rollers which according to him will make the operation so much more quiet. He informed me of the price that A1 charges for the rollers w/install and lifetime guarantee.
