Description of Work: All the above ratings were true. However, they were unable to fix my noisy garage door, even after their saying I needed new rollers ($150) on the door. There was a part of me that wondered if I was being upsold from my $35 Angie's List coupon, but the service man seemed so earnest and concerned about the noise and being unable to fix it, that I didn't dwell on it. |

Description of Work: Came to check a squeaky door that sounded like it was going to fall down. Turned out last installer had put in two different sizes of springs and the door was not balanced. they fixed the door...did a tuneup...and explained the process all the way through. The service guy was very nice and very professional.

Description of Work: I originally called found a coupon/special on here for a spring replacement as my spring had broke. I bought the service online and scheduled the appointment. The courteous gentlemen who arrived at the appointment within the time they said he would. While there, I wanted the weather stripping replaced as well. The cost of the weather stripping would bring the total just about $150 shy of a whole new garage door. Since the paint was peeling and it had several dents, I opted to replace the whole door. We rescheduled another appointment for the installation. Again, the two individuals who arrived were punctual and courteous. They installed the door without issue, however my only mention would be: The spring was mounted to a 2x6 board cut to about 12 inches in length. The old one had cracked where the screws were, so I wanted it replaced. I provided the wood (even cut it to length) so the only installation they had to do was remove 4 screws from the spring/track plate, remove the old wood and replace it with the piece I provided and replace the 4 screws. This cost an additional $75.00 in labor. I don't find this to be worth the cost at all, considering I changed a $200.00 job into a $650.00 job for them. But, I went ahead and accepted the extra cost. Just under a month after installation, the garage door (while closing) would stop about 10 inches down and open back up. This was happening about once in every 3 or 4 times I closed the door. Over the next week I noticed the frequency was increasing as the days were colder. In November I decided to schedule an appointment to have them come look and adjust the door if needed, however I had a 2 and half week vacation through Thanksgiving and decided to hold off until my return. I called after my vacation and scheduled an appointment. I was told that if the issue was not covered under my warranty, I would be charged a service fee of about $62.00. I didn't think this would be anything that wasn't covered, as I assumed it was only a tweak here or there. The gentlemen arrived on time and was again very courteous. He looked at the garage and ended up turning up the power on the opener (from about 8 or 9 to its max setting of 10). He said that should fix it, but if it doesn't then I would need a new motor. I was then told I had to pay for the service call, though it was 50% percent off.....making it about $62.00. He said I only had 30 days from the time of the installation without being charged. So I ended up paying $62.00 for someone to come out and turn two screws about 1/10 of a turn. As far as the install, the courteous individuals, and the door itself, I am fairly happy. I do feel I was charged $75.00 and another $62.00 for basically nothing (this considering the original was supposed to only be about $200.00). From this, I can't say that I would recommend this company. I think they could have overlooked the labor fee as they were already there and it was less than 5 mins of work. They could have also overlooked the service fee considering it was really nothing for them to do other than two small twists on a screw driver (they could have told me over the phone prior to scheduling an appointment to try turning up the motor power - saved me the money and saved them the time and drive). As you can see, there was good and bad, so I opt to not recommend them based on the couple "costly" notables. But if you are aware of this, you may avoid the price trap and probably have a nice experience with this company.
