The workmanship was poor. I had to clean up some of their errors such as not remounting my access pad. I have had them back twice to fix issues from poor workmanship. They actually charged me to repair what they did incorrectly to start with. They topped that off by quoting double the normal price for a new garage door opener. I am going to have the repairs made by another company. If I have to pay I may as well hire someone who can perform the work correctly. Telephone customer service was as poor as the quality of workmanship. I consult with companies all over the United States on issues like customer service. A1 needs help as much as anyone I can think of.

The 17-year-old garage door remote opener no longer worked, and it turned out the motherboard was no longer functioning so that a new remote would not work with the motor. I was given a couple of options: to replace the motherboard or to install a new motor. I opted to install a new motor as the old one was 17 years old, and I didn't know how long it would continue working if I had a new motherboard added. I also had the tuneup with new rollers, plus a second remote.

Great. Bought the online coupon. Very simple to schedule. Loved that I knew how much I was paying before they even showed up. Too many contractors make up the price when they're in front of you.

It went well. Our house is almost forty years old, and the garage floor is bowed. To seal the bottom of the door, they installed an extra wide gasket. Unfortunately, the gasket gets caught on the door trim on the way down and bends upward. The technician said to just reposition it as the door descends, and when the weather warms up and the door trim is not so stiff, the problem should go away. So that's what we're doing.

Aweful. After several hours on the phone waitibg for a call back, I get a $100 trip charge and $400 to fix estimate. Never ever again!!! I used in the past cause of a guy named Leah or Leif..who is SUPER GREAT.

Since I was unable to open my garage door, I scheduled an appointment for Sunday morning. I got up early to be sure I was ready for my 8AM-10AM appointment window. When no one had shown up or called by 10:15, I decided to call, and found out that the technician scheduled to show up was in fact off that day. They had no other appointments available on Sunday, but offered to have someone come out Monday, but by this point I'd had enough and cancelled the request. How they could have scheduled someone to come out and not realized their mistake until we called was completely unacceptable. I will definitely recommend that this company should be taken off Angie's list, since this is an unacceptable way to treat customers.

pros: tech was punctual and polite. cons: call center refused to give me an estimate. technician tried to upsell me on springs with longer warranties. Had to pay for new cables as it was "industry standard" to replace cables at the same time as springs - cables were in visibly excellent condition and the tech could not point out any defects in them, but said that it was mandatory. Parts costs are about 3x what was available from local home center stores. other hidden fees that were mandatory.

Great service - quick, efficient and friendly. Craig came in and quickly diagnosed the issue and had a new open installed in less than an hour. Great service and stress free experience!

Work was performed very well. I think it was a little on the expensive side because they needed to install a new outdoor key code box which was not included in the estimate. They said my previous key code box would not work with new opener even though it was the same brand. All work was performed very well and quickly.

Brian notified me that he was running behind and would be late by about 30 minutes. I know how it goes when your working a route and get hung up on a job, so being late is not an issue. The fact that he called me in advance to let me know *is* a big deal. Communication is Key and his calling ahead was a very good thing. When he arrived he went straight to examining my door etc and had some unfortunate news: I need an overhaul of the Torsion System because mine has been neglected to the point that without doing this upgrade, any door opener would just burn out again. They made a very fair offer to do the upgrade. I wasn't able to do it just at the time so they extended the offer a few months to give me the best chance to have the work done soon. Which I will. He proceeded to install the new opener, which went without a hitch. He answered all of my questions and made sure I had a copy of the new door opener's User Manual before leaving. I feel like Brian, and the company made every effort to accommodate my situation and to be sure I was getting the best offer they could make on the rest of the repairs. I WILL be hiring them to do that work.

The young man who did the work was very professional, and advised me on the condition of my garage door. I felt I could have total confidence in the work he did and his advice for the future.

Took much longer than expected because the problem was compounded (once the obvious coil fix was made, garage door opener problem was revealed). I expressed concern that the job became much more complicated and costly after I approved initial estimate for repair. A-1 advisor reviewed work and revealed our Tech had actually under-charged us for his time and given us parts at cost. They additionally offered extended warranty at no cost for my piece of mind. The charge for installing the bracket was excessive. On Amazon the bracket goes for between about $15 and $25 (so they likely get it for even less wholesale). The labor to install it took less than 10 minutes. Most of the charge is disguised as service call fee and fuel surcharge fee (fuel surcharge of about $13 - even with fuel prices being low now). I used a free service call coupon that they had so that was likely why other sneaky ways were used to squeeze money out of the customer. They had done major repair work on the garage door (over $350) about 4 months ago and that was why I had called them today when the garage door would not open. I was also told that the bracket installed had a 5-year warranty but the receipt I got did not show it. So I had to call their main office to get a receipt that showed it. This was the same as for the repair done about 4 months ago (when the receipt did NOT show the warranty that I was told). That explains the average score for professionalism.

They were fantastic. I had 3 different bids. I felt I wasn't being lied to on the estimate and garage door is so silent my dog doesn't come out running. They were on time, and he was very professional, and he new exactly how long it would take to install and got the job done on time
