My garage door came off its track and folded over on itself. This caused damage to not only the door but also the track and motor. Darcy assessed the damage and gave a quote of $1100 to replace the door, track, and rollers. He also replaced the motor, giving me a new remote. Darcy was very courteous and gave me a break on the labor costs because it was such a large job. He was also nice enough to replace a toilet seat in one of my bathrooms because I didn't have the right tools. A class act!

The Tech was on time, checked all of the Garage Door functions. Gave us options and explained quality of replacement parts. The installation was completed quickly and to our satisfaction.

I had a coupon for a $65 garage door tune-up. At no point during scheduling or follow-up phone calls was I advised of any additional fees. When the tech arrived, he told me the door was in good shape and applied some lubricant. Then he presented me with a bill for $128 which included a mandatory $50 service call fee and a $13 fuel charge. The coupon does not mention this anywhere! The $65 tune-up cost me double that amount. I own several properties in the valley and I will NEVER call this company again.

Our garage door became stuck and would not close without forcing it. After looking over each part, our repairman Chris carefully explained what was wrong with each one. It is an older door and many of the parts were worn out and weakened. He went over the cost for doing the bare minimum just to get it working again, as well as the cost of replacing the worn out parts that were on their last legs. I opted to repair and replace just to get everything done at one time. He was finished in less than an hour. The door runs perfectly. I think this is the smoothest it has ever run. I really appreciated his professional, patient, and friendly manner. I also appreciated how quickly he worked. When I scheduled our appointment I made it clear that I had to leave by a certain time. A1 made sure it was in the notes for Chris and he got the job done. I would highly recommend their services and would use them again.

I called the previous day and was quoted a good price for a spring that was broken on my garage door. The person took my information and said they would be here between 8 and 9 am the following day and that it would cost $160.00 + tax for both springs (since it is best to replace both at the same time). At approximately 9:15 am I called the office and asked if they were having trouble finding my house when I was informed that they had me down for between 8 -10. I had explicitly stated when I called the previous day that I needed to leave the house for an appointment at 10am and was told that would not be a problem. The office personnel scrambled to get the technician to my house but he still did not arrive until approximately 10:10 am. The technician (Keith) apologized for the miscommunication and said that he could get the springs up pretty fast so I told him to go ahead and do it, although it would be cutting my time to get to my appointment very short. Keith was very efficient, knowledgeable and FAST. He was able to get the springs up and check it all out within 20 minutes. The price was much better than the competitors I called and the work was performed in a fast, efficient and professional manner. The office apologized for the miscommunication in the appointment time and did everything they could to make it right. I was given a lifetime warranty and would not hesitate to use this company again or refer them to anyone.

I called A1 Garage Door Service to replace my garage door remote control because of the company's BBB rating and some reviews online. Their stickers were also in my garage, so I assumed that the previous owner of the house used them. Their advertisements indicate that they have a low price guarantee, and based on reviews at least competitive or fair in terms of pricing. On 9/2/13, a technician came promptly and stated that it would cost me $50 for a remote replacement, after which he proceeded with saying that the garage door opener was made in the 1970s, and may have to be replaced. I told him that the house was constructed in 1988, and it would be highly unlikely that the previous owners would install something from the preceding decade. Also, I stated that since A1's sticker is on it and by the garage door, I am assuming they installed or did some sort of service for them. He replied that it was the latter. He then casually asked if I would like to have my car to be linked to the garage door, and I said yes. After he performed the task, I get a bill with the following: 1 375 LM remote- $50; 1 program remote/homelink- $85; mandatory service call - $50; mandatory fuel: $12.95; tax - $4.15 =TOTAL= $202.10 I am not too familiar with pricing of such, but felt intuitively like highway robbery or close to it (considering how competitive or fair they supposedly are). When I told my friends who were more familiar with these things, they said that it was indeed highway robbery and that I should file a complaint. I called A1 Garage on the next business day and asked how much it was for linking the garage door to the car. She stated, "$65 with cleanup of your garage." So I explained to her why I was calling and asked for the manager who was unfortunately unavailable and has not yet called me back. What the technician did was quite unethical, and I do hope he is not representative of the company's technicians in general. A total of $202.10 for what he did in a short time is exorbitant. Had I known, I could have used another company with competitive and fair pricing, not that which engages in highway robbery. I filed a complaint with the BBB and will dispute the charge entirely on my credit card if the company does not rectify this.

We contacted A-1 Doors because of the good reviews per Angie's List and Yelp. They were able to come out, today, the same day we called. They gave us a two hour window, between 10am-12pm. At 11:15, we received a phone call saying the repairman would arrive closer to 12pm. He showed up at 12:30pm. We were charged $431.00 to replace two springs and install a bearing between them. We were grateful for the $75.00 coupon. The serviceman told us that the diameters on the rollers were worn and needed to be replaced at $100.00. We declined. We measured the diameters of the rollers with a caliber and they were the same diameter as what he was trying to sell us. We also found them online for $20.00. We would not use this company again.

We just purchased a new home and there was no garage door opener in one of the garages. We contacted this provider via email and received a call back within minutes. Great service over the phone in giving us a solid estimate and setting up an install date. The technician arrived within the window that was scheduled and performed the work as planned. We had not thought about having a wireless entry put on this door ahead of time, but the technician was happy to add this to the order and provided a discounted price as well. Very pleased with this company's professionalism and commitment to service.

They responded in a timely manner and sent the gentleman (Keith) who had originally installed the opener. He quickly located the problem and resolved the issue. A-1 stood behind their product which is refreshing in that most retailers require a service contract to do anything at little or no cost to you once the original job is completed. Felt valued as a customer and as a result will get my repeat business and recommendation to friends and family.

I called twice to get a quote on installing a garage door opener on a single bay door that did not have one. I made sure to specify that it was a new install, not a replacement. I received the same quote both times. When the installer came out there was an additional $90 worth of materials that were needed, $50 mandatory service fee and $12.95 mandatory fuel charge which brought the total to almost $200 more than quoted. None of these extra charges were mentioned when I spoke to the company on the phone. I understand that the materials were necessary to do the job; however, the people I spoke with on the phone should have been knowledgeable enough about the process to indicate that there would be additional charges. When I called to speak with the company, they did agree to refund the $50 service fee.

The garage door was a simple fix. But, while filling out the paper work and paying him, I noticed some water under my refrigerator. He helped me pull out the refrigerator and we found where it was leaking. He turned off the water for me and told me how I could repair it. I felt I received two services calls for the price of one. Danny did a great job and I appreciate his help.

I received EXCELLENT service from Matt (Vallejos) with A1 Garage Door Service. My spring broke this morning at 8am and I called and got an appt for 9-11am. He was at my house by 9am, explained everything in detail and gave me all the options to so I could make a decision. He was very thorough, courteous, professional and did the work quickly. Matt is an asset to the company for his excellent customer service and great work. I highly recommend that you not only use A1 but ask for Matt specifically as he did a really outstanding job. A1 not only am I customer for life; I will tell everyone I know as well. Thanks again Matt!!!

Arrived on time. Did not linger with the job. We were pleased with the results .No surprises.The quoted price is what we got and a unexpected discount for being a repeat customer. So far everything has performed flawlessly.

A1 could not have been better. 20 year old garage door was cracking and had it replaced with a nice brand new high quality door. Installation was great and the price was good. Installer was puntucal and very friendly. Door look great and so excited that my car wont be stuck in the garage again. Would recommend A1 to anyone.

My previous garage door opener and associated railing, springs, etc. used the cheapest and flimsiest possible parts. Five people on my block have the same parts and they and I were fighting with failures of the garage door to open and close without stopping or retracting before the doors were fully open or closed. I phoned A1 after normal hours following having to disengage the opener so I could manually open and close it. They had someone answering the phone at that time of day who told me she would send someone out the next day between 10 and 12 noon to deal with it. The A1 field installer showed up at about noon and surveyed my opener and associated parts. He described a quick solution to the basic problem of the door jamming because of faulty rollers. However, he pointed out all of the other problems I had as well (as I hoped he would?one spring where two were needed, bent frame, mutilated spring bar, an opener that was cheaper than dirt, paint on parts that needed to be bare metal, etc.). After having done some research of my own before he arrived, I opted to replace the opener with a Liftmaster 3280 which he just happened to have with him. At the same time, I also had him replace the frame and spring bar and the painted parts. It took him several hours, but he finished the job that same day. It was virtually a complete new system. The opener is now much quieter, and except for one remaining problem, my difficulties are over. My remaining problem is poor mounting brackets for the light beams that detect when something is blocking the path of the door. They are flimsy and movable so that if one positions them so they don't falsely indicate a blocked path on one day, they shortly move and then prevent the door from closing on subsequent days. (This is really the initial reason I was driven to call A1 in the first place.) I don't think A1 installed those movable light-beam brackets, they may simply been the same ones provided for the initial garage-door opening system. But, I'm going to have to come up with a way of anchoring them to the frame so that they don't move out of alignment. Given the high cost I already have in the project, I am reluctant to spend any more money to have A1 deal with the brackets. The work A1 performed was eminently well done, and I would be happy to recommend them to someone else. But I would have been much more satisfied had they provided a better solution for the light-beam assembly that still moves in and out of alignment.

Excellent Service ! I am so pleased with my new door and opener. I had my original 30 door with a noisy opener. The new door is not only beautiful but QUIET. I opted for the Insulated Dorrr with WIdnows- What a difference in temperature- well worth the extra nomey. I love having window in my new door and I was surprised there were several styles. to pick from Bill came out and was most pleasant. He did not push any up grades and really took the time to listen to my needs and desire. The work was done professionally- no messes left behind and really respected my home. I have Low Vision and I was so grateful that Bill and the installer took extra time to explain EVERYTHING and how to work the controls. Simply a Fantastic company to work with- HONEST, Fair and Integritous! Definately would recoment A 1 to everyone!

It went well. Repairman didn't have all materials needed with him so had to order them on a Friday I believe and was back the following Monday. Repairman was courteous and knowledgeable

We had called several garage door companies regarding replacing our existing garage door opener that was malfunctioning. The staff at A1 Garage Services was very easy to deal with and was able to recommend and provide the top of the line unit for significantly less money than their competitors and installed it the same day. While they had also recommended a lower priced/level unit, we did want the one that was not the usual installed one. The installer did warn us that in some cases, the new Liftmaster would not work with certain older Homelink units, but we opted to take the chance and it worked out just fine. In addition, when the installer came out, he noted that we were slightly underquoted due to the height of our garage doors, but honored the quote we received over the phone regardless. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

Our steel-faced garage doors were 20 years old. The garages face west and get the full brunt of Arizona's afternoon summer sun. The weather seals were shot and steel facing was beginning to blister. We first contacted A1 Garage Door to have them replace weather seals at the bottom of two garage doors. The technician, James, inspected the job and noted that - due to the age of the doors - replacement weather seals were not readily available. He also observed that the steel facing was separating from the insulation on one of the two doors. Repair would mean replacing one of the door panels. A replacement panel might not match the rest of the door. Since no work was done on the service call, we were not charged. James recommended two brands of garage doors, if we should decide to replace them. We decided that door replacement would be the best solution in the long run. We called A1 and another supplier for estimates. Both companies responded to our calls and came out within a day to measure and provide proposals. While we had a very positive impression of each company bidding, based on product knowledge, Angie's list and BBB ratings, A1's proposal was much less than their competitor's and they got the job. The order was placed in early December, so year-end holidays resulted in longer-than-usual delivery time (about 4 weeks). The installation went very smoothly and much faster than we had anticipated. Both doors were installed in one day by one technician, and work was completed before 2:00 p.m. All parts working well. The following morning, one new door would not stay down. The installer had earlier told us this could happen because the new door is much heavier than the old door, and the 20-year-old lift might not be able to handle it. We decided to replace the opener. A1 scheduled the replacement almost immediately; two days later this job was completed satisfactorily, and the door has now been operating well for three months. Overall, we are quite pleased with the product, the company's service, the knowledge of its technicians, their responsiveness, and the price.

11-2012-My garage door would not open all the way. The service guy from A1 came out and told me that the unit looked OK but the belt needed to be replaced. He suggested that I call the manufacturer since it was still under warranty. I ordered the part and waited until he could come out. He came out and replaced the part and added a gear.. He tried to upsell me on rollers, even though he said they looked good. He charged me around $250 to install a part that I ordered and a gear. I could have spent $100 or so more and had a whole new unit installed. I felt that he took advantage in a big way. I was so disappointed with the company. Now, three months later the door is doing the same thing. I had no choice but to call them again in the hopes that they will fix the door properly, as agreed. I hope they prove themselves to be an honest and trustworthy company. UPDATE: 2/2013-The day that A1 was scheduled to come out, my door starting working normally. I kept the appointment so that i could find out if something more serious was happening. The service person came out and made a minor adjustment to the door. He said that everything was in working order. I explained to him why I felt uneasy at our last meeting. He listened to my concerns and reassured me. I thanked him for his suggestion to order the part straight from the manufacturer. That saved me money and I appreciated it. Four days later, my door is still working properly. I do feel better about the company and am glad that I called them back. I look forward to being able to update this note with more good news in the future.

The service man Wade was very helpful and polite. On the first visit, he was unable to perform the replacement, but was more than willing to come back at a time that was convenient to me. He was efficient, helpful and willing to walk me through all of my questions. He cleaned up after himself! Thank you..
