A1 Garage Door Service

We have two old remote-control operated garage doors that desperately needed servicing and repair. The guy from a1 (Alan? Adam?) was on-time, courteous, efficient, fast, and overall did a good job, getting our doors back in smooth working order in a few hours and all for a very fair price. Regarding the original unit’s age, approximately 15 years, he easily could have new hardware. But he didn't. Instead, He may have made them good for the next 15 years. Also he schooled me on techniques of keeping the doors running efficiently, including showing me what lubricant to use. Thanks A1!

I usually don't review services, but I thought this review was well deserved. The big springs on our garage door broke again  and I couldn't leave for work with the garage all open. My online search recommended A1 garage door services. The serviceman was named Peter, he was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I should also say that he was not at all shady (unlike so many other servicemen I have dealt with) and Peter said yeah, A1 does drug testing & background checks on all the guys. Now I have had my Garage door worked on before with no results, and these services are NOT cheap! This time, I found the service much quicker, prices reasonable and quality of service far superior to all the other companies. Garage door was up and running in no time, and has been working problem-free. I would definitely choose this company again if I had to and would definitely recommend them to a friend.

My garage door opener decided to go kaput on Friday night; Wonderful (sarcasm). Phoned A1 Garage door service on Saturday morning, expecting to get an appointment for Monday, if I was lucky. Surprise! I had Robert at my door by noon that day. He was very cool and explained the whole process of installing a new opener. He offered suggestions & options and was very fast in completing the labor/work . The professional touch; CLEANED UP after himself (swept) and was gone in under 2 hours. I would say call up this company and specifically Robert as your technician.

Unfortunately, I've had my garage door fixed several times over the past few years, and each time it eventually breaks again. So I finally decided to do thorough online research. A1 comes up looking great, on a few different sites, so I call em up, & followed my instincts on this one! As many other reviews say, A1 was quick, efficient, affordable and the repair guy (Alan) was super friendly and nice. My garage door is working great, actually much better than before. I would definitely hire this company again and refer them to my neighbors.

Superb!!! Nothing but the best quality. A1 installed my brand new garage Door within around 4 hours. The door is top of the line quality (Clopay). The customer service is outstanding. We had a few difficulties with the technology/ computer system only because we are very new to automatic doors so it had a little getting familiar with. Otherwise, any questions or issues we had, A1 garage door service took care of them usually with just a phone call. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Thanks guys! :)

I have an old wooden garage door which my Grandfather installed. Over the years the door wasn’t opening too good and did not work it used to. I tried few garage doors companies, they all wanted to replace the door, telling me I need a brand new door. But I like Grandpop's wooden door! Then I found A1 garage doors online they sent me one of their technicians, his name was Robert. The guy came to my place, checked it out, said we can save the door and just fix it up & install a new opener. Now I’ve got a new opener, springs, and rollers and Grandpops door is as good as new. Thanks A1 !

It's hard to find good reliable service companies. So many are disappointing; NOT A1 ….these guys are GREAT! I recommend them without reservation. Fast, clean, and great value for the money. Congrats to Tommy and all his guys for running a great business the way it should be run!

Let me say that A1 Garage Doors provided 5 star service. They answered the phone quickly and came out immediately as promised. They were kind enough to come out & service my door on a Sunday afternoon. A1’s price was certainly fair, especially for a weekend. I must thank you so very much A1 for the super service and excellent repair. As a realtor, I am constantly asked who to recommend for this, or for that. When it comes to garage door service, I would recommend A1 in a heartbeat.

First off, my husband did what every self-respecting man does: He tried to fix it himself, looked online for direction, and found one consistent warning… do NOT try to fix your own garage door. There are two, large springs above the garage door, holding it d up, or down, or in somewhere in-between. One spring was broken. Big & Scary. That's what these springs are like. Widow-makers. Don’t try to do this yourself. I had to call A1. This guy with experience & special tools busted it out in like an hour. My door is fixed and he still has 10 fingers. Win-Win.

Wonderful service ….not too high and not too low of a price….. just exactly what I was looking for. One hundred percent I recommend to use this company. The Technicians were very professional and kind, they will be first on my list to call before any other company… thank you A1 !

I usually don't take time write reviews.. but I was so pleased with the service that I decided I would. My garage door was damaged for many years…. every company I called wanted too much money!! A1 garage door came and did the work for a fair price. I was glad to find them online and to hear so many good reviews. The repairman spoke both English and Spanish so they were able to communicate with my parents and explain the process. The service was great & overall my experience with them was perfect. I have no complain at all… I totally recommend em!!

Have had A1 Garage Door do work for us before, both repairs and new doors. I have always been very happy with the quality of the work and the quality of the doors. They are very professional and do things right. The garage doors they sell are very high quality so you avoid things like cracking & premature damages or coming apart. You won’t regret using A1 Garage Door repair!

Everything went great! He was on time, reprogrammed my opener and gave me information on how to use the garage door opener!

Partially Rebuilt part of the door system and afterwards it worked find. Dave also reprogrammed the remotes and got everything to work as originally worked. Happy with the results and his ability towork around problems. I will use them again. Also their HQ were responsive to my call and urgent needs.

It went wonderfully well. First, A1 headquarters is in a community two hours from me. The reassured me that there were technicians in the area and scheduled an appointment for the next day, along with an assurance that if an earlier time became available i would get a call. Everything went better than promised. J.D. called before the time window promised to say he could come early. 'oh yes please.' J.D. arrived 15 minutes later and completed the work within an hour. In addition to replacing the torsion spring, he checked the other working parts of the door to ensure continued safety in using the garage door. J.D. was competent and professional, courteous and patient in explaining things. I strongly recommend both A1 Garage Door Service and Angie's List and if you are in the Tucson area, ask for J.D.

Fantastic Quick Easy Same Day Service, Straight Forward pricing

Went very well. They were very responsive, set up an appointment at my convenience, showed up for the estimate to quote the job, very pleasant and professional. We're also the best deal offered. Did an excellent job installing door, trim and opener. Definitely recommend them again.

The technician, when asked, quoted me a price 50% higher than the price quoted over the phone. Then he up-sold me to better springs because "their standard springs were made in China and would not last even 5 years." Now I read all their parts are guaranteed for life! I wound up paying $363.52 to have two new springs installed! I see other reviewers who had that done for $149.00. This is not an 'A' Angie List Company. They do not care about good service to the customer, only about extracting maximum dollars. I will never deal with them again. I would like to have about half of what I paid refunded.

The door was damaged. A 3 hour job took him 9 hours to do so he is working in our garage when we are ready for bed. Within 30 days of the new installation the garage door opener stopped working. The quality of work was of the lowest quality I have seen. Now six months later, when we closed the garage door it made a loud notice and shot a bolt out. We noticed all the pins in the roller bearings are coming out. We have no idea where the bolt came from but based on the noise are fearful to open the garage door for fear one of us may be injured by flying parts. When we called A1 they can't come out for three days at the earliest maybe. They also said we will be charged a labor fee for them to come out to fix whatever they did wrong. Needless to say our vehicle is stuck in the garage and we are at their mercy. This repair has been a nightmare to say the least and continues.

Caleb Connis did my repair (replacing broken springs) for my garage door. He was excellent. He was very professional and helpful. I would highly recommend this young man.

It works perfectly fine now. Everything is fine and we got a completely new mic system for our security and everything. I really think anything could be lower, but the price was a good price for the service. They were really professional. We would use them again if our door breaks down again.

We are new in Mesa, Arizona and just bought a 1970's era home here...needless to say, many things need fixing, the garage door being one of them. It was a mess..noisy and horrible. My neighbor highly recommended A1 Garage Door Service. So we called and they sent a guy the next day. this guy Scott was great, he was professional and helpful..he explained the situation & various items clearly, and let me make up my own mind what i needed, not pushing upgrades on me. I felt very comfortable. We got a new spring and some rollers..like a tune up. We aren't rich so we were worried about the cost, but it seemed totally fair & reasonable to me. Now our garage door is wonderful; quiet & smooth. Everything about the experience was great; from the first phone call to the last phone call...this nice man named Bruce from A1 actually called as a follow-up, just to make sure we were happy with everything! How many companies do that?!? Outstanding company, Outstanding customer service. A+.

First of all, when they first came out and gave us an estimate, the technician was professional and pleasant. When we called a couple of weeks later to say we were ready to have them do the job at the quoted price. We made an appointment for Monday, March 7th at 3 p.m. By 5 p.m., they were a no-show and we called the office to ask why no one came or called. We were told the technician was running late and would be there soon. We got a call from the technician a bit later that he would not be able to make it that evening because it would be dark - we said OK then tomorrow Tuesday - he said No can't do it then either. So, we agreed on Wednesday and he said it would probably be 4 p.m. which we thought was pretty late to begin the work, but we said OK. On Wednesday, at the agreed upon time, no one showed up and no phone call. So we called the office again and they said someone would be there very soon...they were sending a different technician. The guy did show up shortly after the phone call and began working - it was already after 6 p.m. and so by the time he finished, it was about 7:30 p.m. and obviously already dark. During the time the technician was in the garage - with the door up - his body odor was so bad, it filled up the 3-car garage with the odor. We couldn't stand to go out there to check on what he was doing. He finished and we paid him the agreed price. The work was apparently well done..that's about the only good thing we can say. My wife keeps a very efficient listing of items in our garage freezer and marks off the list whenever she takes something out of that freezer. Well, on Friday morning, when she went to take 2 Omaha Steaks filet mignon steaks out of that freezer, - whoa - they were gone. So was a box of 2 Top Sirloin steaks, and a box of 4 pork chops. While we can't prove that the technician took the meat out of our freezer, the fact is that no one else could have taken them....no one else had access to that freezer but us. When we called to complain, we were told a manager would call us to discuss it. After 2 days and no call from a manager, we called again. We were finally able to tell a "manager" about it, and he was very concerned and apologized for not calling sooner, but said he was waiting to talk to the technician about it face to face. He said it was difficult for him to believe that his technician would do such a thing, but volunteered to send us a check for $100 to replace the missing meat...and we declined - because we didn't want the money...just wanted to let them know about the problem. He insisted that he wanted to send us $100 for the missing meat. The lack of customer service and the frustration of not showing up or calling when not able to meet an appointment time tells us that this company doesn't deserve a high rating at all. And they should do a better job of screening their technicians.
